The Golem Mage - Chapter 469
Chapter 469: The Amulet Artifact.
Chapter 469: The Amulet Artifact.
The very next day, Alec was already partially healed and able to walk, so he headed straight to the game capsule to see if there was anything he could do to fix it.
Since they needed to leave the city soon due to their tight schedule, Alec wanted to ensure that there would be no more problems with the game capsule before he departed.
As Alec approached the capsule, the system beeped, alerting him to a notification.
[> Ding!]
[¦ Damaged Artifact discovered, pay 10,000 system points to unveil its real form (Y/N)]
€œHmmm!€ Alec decided to pay the fee, and the capsule began shrinking until it transformed into what appeared to be an amulet, next to the amulet was a scroll adorned with countless beast drawings, and the Chronomancer€™s lifeless body lay nearby.
Bending down, Alec picked up the amulet and attempted to analyse it using his skill, but to his surprise, the system provided no further information aside from confirming that it was an Artifact.
However, Alec yearned to control whatever power the amulet held, After all, the Chronomancer had used it to create an entire world and turn it into a death car race when it was in a damaged state.
Alec€™s imagination ran wild with the possibilities of what he could do with it in a repaired state, but he was unable to control it any of that now, as a compromise, he picked up the scroll of beasts next.
Suddenly, another notification appeared on the screen.
[¦ Thousands beast forest can assimilate with the amulet, pay 100,000 system points to unlock the first three levels]
The sight of this nearly caused Alec€™s eyes to pop out of their sockets, he couldn€™t fathom why simply assimilating the Thousands beast forest scroll would require such an exorbitant amount of system points.
However, Alec was hesitant to spend such a large sum of money on something whose value to him was still unknown, nevertheless, he clenched his teeth and paid the fee, watching as the scroll transformed into shimmering specks of light that merged with the amulet, yet, there was still no visible change in its appearance.
Alec stood in the middle of the road, patiently waiting for something to happen to the amulet, after thirty seconds had passed, he realized he was making a spectacle of himself, holding an amulet that looked ordinary while people passed by and stared at him.
So he wore the amulet around his neck, and at that moment a thought occurred to him: maybe he needed to shed blood on it to activate its powers, just like in the novels he had read.
He peeked into his space ring and retrieved a small dagger, which had been looted from one of the Orcs his golems had slain, he lightly sliced his hands, but to his surprise, there was only a shallow cut and no blood.
Intrigued, Alec turned the blade and attempted to stab himself, but the low rank dagger proved incapable of piercing his skin.
His jaw dropped as he realized the incredible strength he now possessed, although the dagger was considered a Tier 2 weapon and belonged to the low rank category, but just a few days ago, it would have drawn blood if he had attempted to pierce his skin with it.
However, with the additional stats increased he had gained to his endurance and his breakthrough to the Tier 4 Mage realm, Alec had developed an immense resistance.
And It seemed that even a Tier 2 weapon was incapable of harming him, a smug smile crossed his face as he nonchalantly returned the dagger to his space ring.
It was time to draw the Bloody Changdao, a weapon that never failed to fulfil its bloodlust.
Unsheathing the Bloody Changdao, Alec was confident that this blade would have no trouble cutting him open.
As he cut himself, blood dripped from his wound as the Changdao didn€™t fail, he raised his bleeding hand and allowed the blood to fall onto the amulet, observing it intently.
The amulet absorbed the blood that dripped upon it, Alec expected some kind of reaction, a flash of light or a sign indicating that it was now under his control, but he had been overly hopeful.
Instead, the amulet turned out to be another blood-draining entity, similar to the Bloody Changdao, it greedily sucked in his blood, causing Alec€™s expression to change completely after thirty seconds passed.
He couldn€™t fathom the type of mini vampire he had acquired this time.
Still weakened from his intense battle with the Chronomancer, so losing a significant amount of blood further drained the colour from his face.
Fortunately, after one minute had elapsed, the amulet ceased its bloodsucking with a belching sound.
Alec was surprised to hear the amulet emit such a noise in his mind, as the situation had threatened to spiral out of control, but he was relieved that he no longer had to endure the loss of more blood.
Though he glanced at the Chronomancer€™s corpse, he thought nothing of it.
He resolved to dispose of it soon, planning on instructing the city€™s residents to bury or cremate the body, he even felt if they wanted to experiment on it they could do as they saw fit, after all a Tier 5 corpse was a treasure, it would have been forbidden but for someone like the Chronomancer Alec didn€™t care.

However, as he tried to move away, Alec realized that the amulet was attempting to drag him by his neck.
The amulet€™s direction pointed towards the Chronomancer€™s corpse as Alec began to hear baby sounds resonating within his mind.
He could only assume that these sounds originated from the amulet itself, it was the first time he had heard such noises since his arrival in this world.
From the baby€™s voice, Alec sensed a longing and desire for the Chronomancer€™s corpse, deciding to comply, he cast a zero gravity spell on the corpse, causing it to float towards him.
As the corpse neared, Alec noticed a change in the amulet, it now had an open mouth in the middle, resembling a huge mouth, with a powerful suction force, the amulet completely engulfed and devoured the body of the Tier 5 Mage, this time, it emitted happy sounds.
A wave of fear washed over Alec as he realized the extent of what he had awakened.
A Tier 5 Mage body had just been consumed by the amulet adorning his neck just like that, and he could feel a serious headache began to throb in his temples.
He pondered how to handle this situation, feeling both frightened of the amulet€™s power and unwilling to show his fear, as he knew that the amulet was far from ordinary based on what it had displayed.
€œI should have known that it wasn€™t an ordinary Artifact when it required a hundred thousand system points to awaken,€ Alec muttered to himself, curiously lacing his words, he had expected some sort of response from the amulet, but there was none.
It seemed that his new €œbaby€ amulet had gone into a slumber after consuming the Tier 5 corpse, it had entered a phase of digesting the body.
Without wasting any more time, Alec swiftly returned to the villa where they were staying in the city.
He had accomplished what he set out to do, but now it was imperative to unravel the true nature and origin of the amulet.
As It troubled him that, for the first time, the system€™s analysis skill failed to determine the origin of something.
