Chapter 487: Close Encounter.
Alec lingered with hesitancy when it came to summoning his golems in the perilous environment of the second level of the Beast Forest, and that was because he had never summon them before in the second level and he was uncertain if they would revive like he did after death.
While he possessed the ability to awake again, the fate of his golems remained unknown if they died in the Amulet space after all the Amulet space affected reality.
In the first level, they hadn€™t encountered any demonic beasts powerful enough to kill any of them in a single blow, which would give them enough time to recover.
However, in the second level, a multitude of formidable creatures awaited, aware of the potential risks, Alec proceeded with caution, yet, upon realizing that he faced a pack of Tier 4 Shadow Wolves, his reservations dissipated, and he summoned all his golems without hesitation.
Taking a seat on a nearby stone, Alec engaged his analysis skill, thoroughly scanning the surrounding area.
He hoped to detect any hidden demonic beasts attempting to launch a surprise attack on him or his golems while they contended with the pack of shadow wolves.
With his golems at the ready, Alec possessed confidence in their ability to handle the threat, however, in the darkness, his eyes caught sight of another demonic beast that remained motionless while the pack of wolves clashed against his golems.
[Status]
Name: Alpha Shadow Wolf
Tier: Tier 5
Affinity: Shadow
The moment Alec€™s gaze fell upon the status of the Alpha Shadow Wolf, his relaxed demeanor shattered.
Channelling his will and focusing on his formidable Changdao, the blade materialized within his grasp.
It was as if the Alpha Shadow Wolf sensed Alec€™s intent too, as it swiftly emerging from its concealed position within the bush, its primal and dangerous aura caused the very ground it traversed to fracture under the immense pressure.
€œNot good!€ Alec mouthed, a silent expression of his realization.
He dashed forward, aiming to confront the advancing wolf, however, his speed proved inferior, as the Alpha Wolf closed the distance rapidly, Sword Saint, with earth enveloping its visage like a cloth, stood before the approaching threat, it had his eyes closed ever since it entered the Mid ranks, it was a kind of way of training its other senses.
Although Sword Saint remained shorter than the other golems, but Alec harboured no underestimations to its capabilities as saint had the ability to control anti-magic and also had reached the intermediate level in his Swordsmanship proving its capabilities.
Amidst the Alpha Shadow Wolf€™s resounding roar, a colossal black ball hurtled towards Sword Saint.
Reacting swiftly, Sword Saint maneuvered his weapon to fend off the incoming attack from the Alpha Wolf.
Meanwhile, Alec maintained his unwavering focus on the Alpha Wolf and his primary target, oblivious to the shifting dynamics.
Unforeseen to him, the presence of the Alpha Wolf disrupted his attention, resulting in him not realising another ten wolves materializing from the shadowy depths of the ground trying to flank him.
It was at this moment that Alec realized he had made a grave error.
Not having encountered shadow wolves before, he possessed little knowledge of their attacking patterns, as it became apparent that not all of them struck openly from the bushes; rather, some waited patiently in the shadows, poised to strike when their foes let their guard down.
But due to Alec€™s ability to perceive events within a twenty-meter radius and his intermediate weapon mastery, launching a successful sneak attack against him presented a formidable challenge.
Three of the shadow wolves stealthily emerged from the shadows, surging forward with clear intent.
Alec quickly discerned their motives as he witnessed them halt abruptly and turn, snarling menacingly.
Their actions blocked Alec€™s path, effectively cutting off his route to rescuing Sword Saint.
The remaining seven wolves dashed towards Alec from all angles, except for the front, without hesitation, Alec swiftly maneuvered his left hand behind him, summoning a surge of gravitational energy to knock back the wolves closing in from behind.
He refused to be caught off guard by their relentless onslaught.
Although these were Tier 4 wolves, but their ability to unleash destructive powers was comparable to a newly Tier 5 or mid Tier 5 Mage was evident, so being confined amidst seven creatures of this caliber would prove fatal for Alec if he fell into their trap.
Brandishing his Changdao, Alec forcefully smashed the hilt against the neck of the wolf lunging from the left before executing a sweeping motion with the length of his weapon, striking out at the wolf on his right.
A flaming slash surged forth from the Changdao, effortlessly slicing through the vulnerable neck of the wolf from the right, which had been lunging and unable to defend itself effectively, and was caught off guard by Alec€™s swift and unexpected maneuver.

The wolves were taken aback by Alec€™s exceptional swordsmanship, repelling six of them and swiftly killing one as the fight commenced, this fueled their rage, causing them to rush at him with unwavering determination.
Reacting with remarkable agility, Alec swiftly shifted his bloody Changdao to his left hand, gripping it in a reverse hold, before pivoting on his lead foot, as he extended his open hand towards the nearest shadow wolf that had lunged at him.

A colossal palm formed from solid rock and earth elements, hurtling at an astonishing speed as it arched towards the wolf.
Bang!
The wolf, in a last-ditch effort, cast a dark veil to partially mitigate the attack, although it managed to reduce the damage, the wolf still bore several bruises from the forceful impact.
Wasting no time, Alec swiftly swung his blade, cutting down the wolf mid-air, eliminating the second adversary.
Moving a few steps back to create space, he raised his blade in a vertical defensive stance, parrying the attacks launched by two shadow wolves that had closed in on him, their claws striking to kill.
A smirk played upon Alec€™s lips as he engaged in the intense battle; it made him feel truly alive, danger seemed to lurk at every turn, with the wolves fixated on him entirely.
Glancing upward, Alec assessed the situation of his golems.
To his relief, none of them had fallen, Titan, Sword Saint, and Butcher were holding their own against the Alpha, while the remaining golems combated the increased numbers of enemies.
It was a challenging situation, evident from the sight of Sword Saint fighting fiercely with only its left hand, having lost its right in the confrontation, but Alec remained confident, knowing that they would emerge victorious, especially now as Titan and the other golems began summoning their minions shifting the number advantage and
Reversing the odds in their favour brought a semblance of relief.
Yet, Alec felt a sense of urgency to end the battle swiftly, unwilling to allow any more beasts to discover them once they vanquished the wolf pack.
He harboured no doubt that the lingering scent of the fallen wolves€™ blood would soon draw unwanted attention.
