Selene smiled at Endrick€™s question, while she didn€™t have any obligation to answer, a part of her wanted to explain to him.
€œWell, you see, unlike you, i have watched Alec for a very long time, and I know that he would never do something he€™s unsure of, and even when all hope seems lost, he never gives up, he always pushes through until he gets a breakthrough,€ Selene explained.
€œIn simple terms, he has full confidence in winning this match, so, he may have decided not to showcase the powers of our other strong team members, that way, their abilities remain a mystery,€ Selene concluded as they finally reached the reserved area for the War God Mage Academy and took their seats.
Not too far from them sat another team, who would be participating in a later match, they were curious and decided to wait and watch the first match to gauge the level of preparation needed for their own battle.
€œThe crowd€™s cheering is enough to put any mage in a sort of exhilarating trance, making them highly motivated to perform,€ Lucas chimed in, yearning for his own chance to engage in battle under the thunderous applause of the crowd.
Alec and his team finally met the mages from the opposing team in the middle of the Colosseum.
The mages from the Bandit Academy all wore brown and green uniforms, giving Alec the impression that they were attempting to blend into nature.
€œAre you both ready?€ one of the referee mages swooped down and asked, to which Alec and the opposing team€™s captain nodded in confirmation.
€œOkay, take these,€ the referee instructed as he threw two huge gold coins to them, the coins were inscribed with the word €œtransformation,€ and both Alec and the opposing captain caught them, looking slightly surprised.
After examining the cultivation realms of the mages deployed by the War God Mage Academy, the captain of the Bandit team confidently declared,
€œYou all are so dead!€ He then made a slicing motion across his neck with his hand, taunting Alec and his team.
He sensed that the War God Academy mages had resigned themselves to defeat after being matched against their formidable opponents.
Despite the provocation, Alec remained unfazed, while Pale could only snicker, determined to prove himself, however, he also harboured a feeling that the battle would descend into chaos with the line-up Alec had chosen to field against the Bandit Academy.
€œFrom the right side, representing the Bandit Academy, led by their Captain Jack Savage, a low Tier 5 Mage, followed by the vice-captain Raven Blackwoods, also a low Tier 5 Mage.
Joining them are Scarlet Shadows, a Peak Tier 4 Mage, Cole Wilder, a Peak Tier 4 Mage, and lastly Asher Blackthorn, a Peak Tier 4 Mage.€
The supporters of the Bandit Academy erupted in cheers as the names of their representatives were announced one by one, with even some of the mages in the crowd joining in the excitement for the impending battle.
€œAnd from the left side, the team from the War God Academy, led by their own captain, Alec Gordons!€
As Alec€™s name was called, the atmosphere in the VIP area shifted, with a certain mage fixing a steady gaze upon Alec.
€œIsn€™t that the bastard boy your clan never accepted?, I can€™t believe he€™s leading that dilapidated academy against mine, I just hope my boys don€™t break him too much; as we wouldn€™t want to completely strip your clan of its dignity,€ the Dean of the Bandit Academy remarked, stroking his beard while dressed in his all-black attire.
€œHe is no longer a member of my clan, so we pay no mind to such an estranged individual who couldn€™t even meet the outer ring requirements,€ retorted the elder from the ancient Blaze Clan, indirectly labelling Alec as unworthy of joining even the lowest echelon of the Blaze Clan.
–
€œHigh Tier 4 Mage, followed by Pale Zero, a Low Tier 4 Mage, Kate Armstrong, a Low Tier 4 Mage, Sophia Gordons, a Peak Tier 3 Mage, and Agnes Gordons, a Peak Tier 3 Mage.€
As the introduction concluded, the entire crowd fell into a deafening silence, it was evident that while other academies had successfully transported their students to cheer on their performing mages and secure tickets for them, the War God Academy had only managed to send their main team.
As a result, Alec and his team were left with virtually no dedicated supporters, furthermore, the revelation of the realms of the War God Academy mages who would be participating left everyone surprised.
A feeling of inevitability filled the air, as if it was already predetermined that the War God Academy would suffer defeat, in fact, the odds against the War God Academy continued to rise after their line-up was introduced.
Initially, the odds were based on the combined strength of their team strongest members, however, upon witnessing the line up of the team chosen to face the Bandit Academy, spectators rushed to place more bets on the Bandit Academy, causing a significant increase in the odds of the War God Academy and a decrease in the odds for the Bandit Academy.
€œAre you kidding me?, It€™s almost as if they€™re making a deliberate effort to lose to my academy team, what on earth is the War God Academy doing in the Inter academy competition anyways, if they€™re just going to surrender in the first round?€ The Dean of the Bandit Academy exclaimed, shaking with laughter.
He could barely contain his amusement, relishing the opportunity the War God Academy had inadvertently provided him to secure a position among the top eight ranked academies.
In this moment, he wasn€™t taking a jab at the Blaze Clan elder who was sent to scout for prodigious fire elemental mages, instead, he directed his taunts at the War God Academy for granting him easy access to a chance at achieving a coveted spot among the top academies.
€œI see now why you refrained from throwing shade at my clan when the Bandit leader was disrespecting us, it€™s because you also have a clansman in Alec€™s team, and not just any clansman, but an accepted member of your own clan,€ the elder of the Blaze Clan remarked, attempting to engage the elder of the Zero Clan who had also been sent to observe for any talented ice Mage.
He had been puzzled by their rival€™s lack of response when Alec€™s name was announced, but now he realized that they were actually in a similar situation.
€œYou and your narrow mind set will never understand the power of Alec Gordons, although the War God Academy restricts involvement from other clan, guild and organisations in their institute, but news has managed to leak out in the absence of their watch dog from our clansmen attending, and i can attest that even if they may lose, it won€™t be without putting up a fight, as our observations clearly show that Alec Gordons is someone who has never tasted defeat,€ defended the elder from the Zero Clan.
€œToo bad you guys from the Blaze Clan are too prideful to acknowledge the potential of your clan€™s greatest genius son, just because you were all so jealous of him in the past your elders all collided to force his father to you cast out his own grandson, as you didn€™t want another Rae Blaze on your neck, and you foolishly believed that Alec would never come close to realizing his father€™s legacy due to the fact that an ancient clan would not support him, what a joke!

,€ added the elder from the Zero Clan.
The elder from the Blaze Clan was left in shock by the unexpected praise for Alec coming from a member of the Zero Clan, and the exposure of their clans dealings, he attempted to discern if it was meant to spite him, especially since Pale, who was involved in the upcoming battle, had been mentioned, or if it was simply an attempt to confuse him.
However, as he assessed the power levels of the two teams, he sneered with confidence, firmly believing that the War God Academy was destined to lose, in his eyes, the enormous disadvantage they faced made victory an impossible feat.
