The Golem Mage - Chapter 552
Chapter 552: Unexpected.
Chapter 552: Unexpected.
The green claw wind blade hurtled towards Michael, and nearly everyone watching had already resigned themselves to the belief that he would not escape unscathed, they thought the referee might just step in at any moment soon to stop the match.
However, just as Connor€™s claw wind blade was about to tear through him, a brilliant flash of light enveloped Michael.
The light emitted such intense mana fluctuations that it generated a shockwave, sending the wind blade hurtling backwards.
The shockwave reached Connor, forcing him to swiftly cross his two hands in an X shape and dig his legs into the ground to prevent himself from being propelled by the force of his opponent€™s shockwave, which would have been embarrassing.
Connor squinted his light blue eyes, attempting to use his heightened sense of smell to locate Michael, but his keen sense of smell warned him of great danger, causing his body to tremble slightly
Connor strained to locate the source of the danger that had triggered his primal instincts.
Finally, the surrounding light subsided, allowing the crowd of spectators and Connor to see Michael once again.
However, there were noticeable changes in him, all the injuries and bruises inflicted on him by Connor€™s relentless attacks had completely vanished, not only that, but his hair was now glowing.
Normally, Michael had short, blonde hair, but after the light dissipated, his hair and eyebrows emitted a radiant, holy glow.
Alec couldn€™t help but feel as though he was witnessing a Super Saiyan awakening.
€œI€™m not the only one who saw that, right?€ Arthur asked, amazed by the power Michael had just displayed.
€œNo, you€™re not alone, unless we all have some sort of eye problem, it seems that Michael just performed a full body healing on himself,€ Alec replied, his gaze still fixed on the intense battle unfolding before them.
The War God Academy team wasn€™t the only group taking note of Michael€™s extraordinary power, as the ability to heal is one of the rarest and most coveted powers in existence.
And to possess a healing ability of such caliber, it made Michael even more valuable than they had previously perceived.
As the other teams discussed him, the crowd also felt that the fight had returned to a balanced state, rather than the one side beating that just occurred.
—
€œI would love to continue playing with you, but you see, my captain has advised me that if I continue at this intensity, I will deplete too much mana and won€™t be able to defeat you, I was sent out to secure the first win, so I€™m afraid our €˜play€™ has come to an end,€ Michael calmly stated to Connor, who stood there rigidly, staring at the unscathed Michael.
However, Michael€™s words only seemed to enrage Connor.
The mention of €œplay€ made him feel underestimated, as though everything he had done was diminished to mere entertainment in front of Michael.
With a powerful kick from his hind legs, Connor lunged towards Michael€™s neck, as he knew that the quickest way to secure victory in this match was to slice at Michael€™s neck, forcing an immediate defeat as the referee would have no choice but to intervene.
Since they wouldn€™t want a prodigy from the Lightbringer clan to die, particularly one as talented as Michael, Connor€™s anger escalated the closer he got to him, the annoying smile still plastered on Michael€™s lips only fuelled his rage.

To Connor€™s surprise, Michael finally unsheathed his sword, an unexpected move that caught him off guard.
As he witnessed Michael€™s right hand gripping the hilt, his heart skipped a beat unconsciously.
As a bright and enormous sword of light materialized behind Michael, exuding an aura of oppression that even caused Connor€™s speed to diminish during his lunge.
Slash!
Without hesitation, Michael swung his broadsword at Connor, who was still airborne with outstretched Green glowing claws, aiming for his neck.
In sync with his swing, the Judgment Blade image behind Michael moved towards Connor, following the trajectory of his strike.
The crowd watched in awe as the sword, brimming with excess energy, clashed against Connor€™s green claws.
Bang!!!…
An ear splitting ring reverberated through the spectators€™ ears after the explosion, leaving them straining to see through the cloud of smoke that obscured their view.

When the smoke finally cleared, the sight that awaited them silenced the crowd for a brief moment.
Michael was no longer smiling, and he had transitioned out of whatever glowing state he had been in earlier.
And his face paled, indicating he hadn€™t come out of the explosion unscathed as he usually did, Connor stood before him with his lower pants almost burnt off.
There was little left to cover his private parts, and his hand was still stretched out, as his transformation abruptly ended reverting back to his human form.
Due to taking the full attack with his body, Connor€™s body was completely black, upon seeing Michael€™s annoying smile as blood rushed out of his mouth, Connor felt a surge of anger before losing consciousness and slumping to the ground.
€œPerhaps if you had worn the Spirit Equipment clothing, you would have had an extra layer of defence and I might have lost against your superior strength, unfortunately, your underestimation led to my victory,€ Michael taunted Connor€™s collapsed form.
While the referee€™s voice cut through the tension, announcing,
€œAnd the winner of the first round is Michael Lightbringer!€ The fans of the Holy Grail Academy erupted into cheers at the unexpected outcome.
They initially felt they were going to lose the first rounds but now they were just happy Michael had won in the end.
Some spectators grumbled and cursed, since they lost their bets on Connor, the plans they had made using money they hadn€™t yet won vanished into thin air with a poof.
