The Golem Mage - Chapter 578
Chapter 578: Branch.
Chapter 578: Branch.
Alec fixed his gaze on the massive demonic beast that was positioned to stare back at him even in its dead state.
The hands of time were ticking, with only three hours remaining before midnight, he felt a wave of satisfaction knowing that the Dean had been able to successfully obtained a demonic beast for him.
However, as the immense Tier 6 beast lay before him, Alec realized that he had neglected to specify the desired affinity of the creature he wanted, as the reason for requesting a Tier 6 demonic beast was simple, he had been exploring different methods to expedite his journey to the Tier 5 Mage Realm, and he realise he could do that with cultivation pills.
But with the responsibility of distributing Tier 5 cultivation pills to his teammates, Alec found himself lacking the resources or Cultivation pills to boost his own cultivation.
So he had considered challenging the Tier 6 bosses in the Beast Forest once again, as if he could kill them he would be able to refine Tier 6 pills from them.
However, as was the norm, he proved to be no match for them and suffered defeat on multiple occasions.
Still, he discovered that now he possessed a level 2 branch, he felt it was not only remarkably easy to absorb and devour deceased demonic beasts from the beast forest but he also felt he could drag demonic beasts from the main world into his own Amulet world.
He couldn€™t quite explain the mechanism, but he instinctively knew that it would be able to devour deceased demonic beasts just as the Primordial Tree devours those he kills in the Beast Forest.
However, the demonic beast before him differed in affinity to him.
It was a Golden Horn Drake youngling, and despite the fact the term €œyoungling€ was used, there was no doubt that it was a true Tier 6 demonic beast that could cause massive rampage, and was on the verge of entering the High ranks.
Alec sighed as he observed the demonic beast lying on the ground.
He was convinced that if it were to drop any additional treasures, they would likely be related to the metal element or other special powers that the Golden Horn Drake may have awakened.
€œOkay now, come out and take your meal!€ Alec exclaimed, though there was no one else present in the room except for the lifeless body of the Golden Horn Drake, which still emitted a powerful and imposing aura even in death, retaining its prestige.
However, Alec€™s words were not meant for any physical being in this world.
They were intended for the Level 2 branch of the Primordial Tree, with which he seemed to be able to communicate with.
After uttering his statement, Alec began to scan the surroundings, hoping for any signs of changes in how the corpse would be devoured.
However, no immediate change occurred even after twenty seconds had passed.
Disheartenment started to creep into Alec€™s spirit, as he feared the corpse would go to waste.
But then, in the next moment, he sensed something unusual happening within his mind.
At that very instant, Alec could almost perceive the Level 2 branch he had upgraded attempting to manifest into the main world.
However, it seemed to be hindered by an invisible barrier, preventing it from fully piercing through and materializing before him.
Just then, Alec started to feel the calling of the system spirit.
So he quickly summoned the golem shell he created for him from his space pouch, and as soon as the golem appeared, a sharp sound akin to inhaling filled the air, accompanied by a glimmer of light in the golem€™s eyes.
Which indicated that the system spirit had re-entered the golem€™s body.
A notification from the system flashed before Alec€™s eyes
[Pay 5,000 system points in order to allow the Level 2 Primordial Tree branch to fuse with you (Y/N)]
Upon seeing this notification, Alec was taken aback, he was unsure of the consequences if he were to fuse one of the branches of the Primordial Tree with himself.
However, since the system spirit was present, Alec immediately directed his gaze towards it.
After all, the system spirit acted as the system administrator and would likely possess the knowledge to explain the situation better.
€œWith the expression on your face, I can already guess what you€™re thinking after seeing that notification, but let me assure you, this development won€™t affect the Primordial Tree, as the branch won€™t be severed from its body,€ the system spirit explained, addressing Alec€™s concerns.

€œAnd it won€™t have any negative effects on you either, you will simply serve as a conduit for the system to allow the branch manifest in this plane, being a native of this realm, it€™s only natural for the branch to fuse with you, its master,€
€œ the restrictions of this earthly realm will perceive the branch as a part of you after the fusion, allowing it to manifest,€ the system spirit elaborated, providing clarity to Alec€™s confusion even before he voiced his concern.
€œHow can you be so sure it won€™t affect the Primordial Tree?€ Alec questioned, seeking further clarification.
€œThat€™s because you€™re only fusing in order to facilitate manifestation, it remains a part of the Primordial Tree€™s body, now, pay up quickly and devour this colossal beast.
I€™m incredibly curious to see what treasures will emerge,€ the spirit golem responded, rubbing its hands together mischievously like a pirate would after seeing a box of treasure.
The spirit golem was typically the nonchalant type, but when encountering something of significant value that he had limited knowledge about, his curiosity always peaked to new heights.
Alec took a moment to gather himself, then tapped on the €œY€ response.
Crack!
The sound of something breaking resonated as the large branch materialized beside Alec.
It extended out of thin air, as if emerging from the void next to him.
Alec was genuinely surprised by the appearance of the vines, as he reached out his hand, the branch twisted and moved toward him, seemingly eager for his touch.
With a simple touch, Alec felt a heightened connection to the branch and a deeper understanding of its emotions.
He could feel the branch now perceive his words more clearly and effortlessly.
€œExcellent,€ Alec remarked, still hearing whining sounds within his mind.
It was the branch communicating with him, expressing its desire for the Tier 6 corpse lying before them.
€œGo ahead,€ Alec commanded, and the vine -shaped manifestation of the branch expanded even larger than before.
The small black hole that had initially appeared above Alec€™s shoulder now expanded, providing room for the rest of the vines that emerged.
The massive branch morphed into a colossal wooden hand, reaching out to grasp the corpse of the Tier 6 Golden Horn Drake.
It was at this moment that something entirely unexpected occurred.
Roar!!!!!!
