The Golem Mage - Chapter 580
Chapter 580: Sleeping 1.
Chapter 580: Sleeping 1.
Selene realized that she couldn€™t change the Dean€™s mind-set, so all she could do was hope that Alec would be okay, just as the Dean had mentioned.
Even though she couldn€™t confront the Dean directly, she redirected her anger towards Phil, fixing him with a stern gaze.
€œIf the Dean didn€™t purchase the Tier 6 demonic beast, then why did you restrict the rest of the team from acquiring what they needed?
And you also blamed the shortage of funds on Alec€™s request for unique and expensive items.€
€œ Last I recall, the agreement for your involvement in the team was that you would provide them with anything they requested,€ Selene confronted Phil, her frustration evident, however, Phil simply shrugged his shoulders in response.
€œWe had to do that in order to make the funds provided by the Dean sufficient,€ Phil elaborated, but Selene continued to regard him sceptically.
€œCome on!
You didn€™t expect us to purchase cultivation pills for the entire team, if we spent the limited budget on that, not even fifty percent of the team would receive what they needed, they made such demands that even I was taken aback,€
€œWe could only come up with a lie like that to justify our reasoning, after all, we never anticipated their specific requests to be like that, any other mage from the academy would typically ask for a weapon or armour if asked the same question,€ Phil explained, causing Selene to shake her head in disbelief.
€œWho knew your team was so demanding,€ Phil added, to which Selene responded with a disapproving expression.
€œNevertheless, you had no right to blame Alec for it,€ Selene asserted firmly.
€œWell, I did so with ulterior motives, but in the end, it all worked out, the team stopped complaining, and even I am surprised by the outcome,€ Phil said, with a smug smile on his face.
However, he quickly ceased his expression of satisfaction upon seeing Selene€™s frowning countenance.
Observing Phil€™s wavering demeanour, Selene couldn€™t help but dismiss him, as he was a pawn being used by the Dean to maintain a positive image to the team, while leaving all the unpleasant tasks to Phil instead.
She redirected her focus towards Alec€™s door, joining everyone else in eager anticipation of what would unfold.

With no hesitation, Alec activated his bloodline powers the moment he witnessed the demonic beast soul hurtling towards him.
He could already sense the familiar urging of his inherent Bloodline power calling on him, so he allowed his instincts to guide him.
Alec€™s eyes turned pure white the moment he tapped into his Bloodline, and his wolf tattoo began to radiate with a brilliant glow.
However, his intention wasn€™t to assimilate the Golden Horn Drake into the shadow wolf, after all the Golden Horn Drake was a Tier 6 Demonic beast which means the shadow wolf would have an higher chance of being destroyed if he tried that, Instead, he sought to devour the Golden Horn Drake and create a new animate beast soul.
With the tremendous amount of energy contained within the golden soul, Alec was confident it would be sufficient to form another beast within him, this time, it wouldn€™t be like when he had to consume multiple shadow wolves to create the desired form.
Alec€™s mouth stretched wide open, creating a small black hole that aimed to suck in the golden horn dragon.
Witnessing this ominous black hole, the once fearless golden dragon that was trying to dash back at the wooden hand began showing signs of fear.
It desperately tried to escape from Alec€™s reach, and initially, it managed to evade him, however, its efforts were thwarted by a forceful back-handed slap from the wooden hand, which realized that the soul was attempting to elude Alec€™s devouring suction.
This time being hit with tremendous force, the golden horn dragon soul was propelled straight into Alec€™s mouth.
€œHmm!€ Alec exclaimed audibly as he swallowed the soul of the Golden Horn Drake.
And similar to the first time he devoured a shadow wolf, he felt a surge of energy flooding his entire being, prompting him to shut his eyes and focus on channelling and directing the newfound power.
The Level 2 branch, now aware that its master had successfully devoured the soul, wrapped itself tightly around the massive body of the Golden Horn Drake, The beast seemed to have now lost some of its overwhelming aura and golden radiance after its soul was consumed by Alec.
However, the branch paid no mind to these changes, as it had finally acquired its meal, vines sprouted from the branch€™s fingertips, curling around the lifeless body of the demonic beast.
Once the vines completely ensnared the creature, concealing everything except its head, they began retracting back towards the now enormous black hole located above Alec€™s right shoulder, the same space it had opened to manifest in this world.
But before receding completely, it extended a small part of itself to gently caress Alec€™s face, a momentary gesture of connection, then, the branch pulled itself back into the black hole, causing the rift in space to seal shut.

On the other hand, the Dean, along with the two instructors and Selene, anxiously awaited any sound from Alec€™s room.
Much to their surprise, they heard nothing but silence after the initial roar, they continued to wait, growing increasingly impatient as five minutes ticked by without any indication of activity coming from within the room.
€œI can€™t wait any longer, I€™m going to check on Alec,€ Selene declared, swiftly opening the door to Alec€™s room, the two instructors and the Dean followed closely behind, but their surprise grew as they witnessed Selene freezing just at the doorway, refusing to step inside.
Intrigued by Selene€™s hesitation, they inched closer to see what had caused her to halt, and as they gazed upon the sight of Alec lying peacefully on the ground, breathing steadily, confusion washed over them.
They couldn€™t comprehend why he would be sleeping when they had just heard the roaring of the demonic beast, their thoughts veered between the possibility of him having gone to bed after subduing the beast€™s soul, but then again the stark reality that even a Tier 7 Mage would struggle to pacify such a formidable Tier 6 soul with such ease troubled their mind.
As they pondered the conflicting ideas surrounding the soul and Alec€™s peaceful slumber, the Dean posed a question that threw them all off-balance.
€œEveryone, where is the demonic beast?€ he inquired, redirecting their attention towards the room, to their astonishment, they couldn€™t locate the monstrous creature.
Given its size, they didn€™t anticipate needing to strain or search extensively to find it, but strangely, all that remained in Alec€™s room was the colossal unrefined piece of Tier 5 metal, nothing else.
Jasper couldn€™t help muttering, €œMy mind is about to be blown away.€
