The Golem Mage - Chapter 586
Chapter 586: Anger.
Chapter 586: Anger.
The moment Alec stepped out of the halls and spotted the battle ring, he stood frozen for a second, horrified by the scene unfolding before him.
Before his eyes, Sophia was being manhandled by Steele, who gripped her collar tightly while unleashing a relentless barrage of wind-fist punches aimed straight at her face.
No matter how desperately she attempted to utter the words €œI give up,€ they were battered back into silence by Steele€™s merciless onslaught.
With every punch, she struggled to voice her surrender, yet the referee remained passive, ignoring the fact that Sophia could no longer defend herself.
Frustrated and furious, Alec began to stride toward the War God Academy team stand, his anger boiling over.
His approach brought a glimmer of hope to the anxious War God Academy team, but witnessing the innocent Sophia being pummelled while the culprit laughed with glee only fuelled their rage further.
€œShe surrenders!€ Alec shouted angrily, hurling a white towel from their bench toward the battle ring.
But instead of stopping, Steele merely glanced at Alec and continued his merciless assault, even altering his tactics.
As he summoned his wind element to lift Sophia into a spiralling tornado that surged her into the air, amplifying her vulnerability.
€œUnfortunately, a match cannot be halted simply because you desire a different outcome,€ the referee stated coldly, turning his gaze to Alec.
€œThis match can only end when she verbally surrenders, if she is pushed out of the battle ring, or falls unconscious.
I€™m only obliged to intervene when I sense a threat to her life.€
Alec€™s anger only intensified at the referee€™s dismissive tone.
He had tried to maintain composure, but the blatant favouritism toward Vajra Academy was unmistakable, driving him closer to the edge.
Seeing that his words went unheard by the referee, Alec turned to Steele, his blood-red eyes blazing with intensity.
€œKarma is a bitch, What goes around comes around.
You€™d better step down once you defeat her, or I swear I€™ll stab you in ways that will make you bleed in agony, and you€™ll feel an overwhelming urge to surrender, but the words will escape you, you€™ll try to succumb to unconsciousness, but the pain Inflict will continue to keep you wide awake.€
Alec€™s threat hung in the air, causing Steele to momentarily freeze.
Yet, he seemed unfazed, shrugging off the warning as he believed such scenario would never happen.
[> Mid Tier Spell €“ Wind Slam <]
With a swift motion, Steele cast a spell changing the motion of the wind tornado, his hand dragging downward, as the tornado of wind spiralled down, ensnaring Sophia and ruthlessly slamming her to the ground, making her cough up blood, and go into unconsciousness.
€œYou don€™t need to worry, I€™ve grown tired of toying with her, as you can see she has already lost consciousness,€ Victor Steele said with a self-satisfied smile.
€œAnd the winner of the first fight is Victor Steele!€ the referee announced, raising his hands toward Steele as the crowd of Vajra Academy fans and those who had bet on them to win erupted in cheers, celebrating the swift domination that the Vajra Academy had take the first win.
After the initial hit Sophia landed on him, Victor quickly closed the distance, choosing not to cast any long-range spells.
As he believed she could easily redirect them against him.
And as a wind elemental mage, his strength in speed made it nearly impossible for Sophia to outrun him.
Coupled with the fact that he was one realm higher than her, made Sophia find herself completely in a bad match up, as he targeted her face with relentless precision after he caught up with her, almost as if he reveled in it.
He had given her a black eye and damaged not only her reputation but also that of the War God Academy, as he had been said to have insulted the academy as well.
Listening to the recount of things so far only served to annoy Alec further.
Arthur and Brandon moved to recover Sophia€™s body, but before they could leave, Alec strode forward, leading them towards the battle ring.
When they arrived, he summoned a pill bottle from his space ring, uncorked it, and immediately placed a pill into her mouth before gently lifting her body in a bridal style.

The crowd was quite surprised at the chilled way Alec was handling the defeat of his teammate.
It was the first time the spectators had seen the captain of an academy take on the duty of retrieving a defeated teammate€™s body.
Meanwhile, the Dean and the two new instructors who had joined their team were quite surprised.
They were certain they had just seen Alec administer a healing pill to Sophia, they were surprised because they had not provided it, and considering Alec€™s background, he shouldn€™t have had the funds to buy one.
Yet there he was with a full bottle of healing pills, although they couldn€™t determine which Tier of healing pill he had given her, but even the lowest tier of healing pill was seen as a treasure as it starts from Tier 4 and it was something that was even more rare than cultivation pills, this was something even they couldn€™t even afford to provide, and Alec was giving it out as if it were not important.
Selene had also seen the pill, but she wasn€™t as surprised as she used to be, having steeled her mind for situations like this, she took the time to enjoy the reactions on the faces of the new instructors.
€œMake sure she gets to the healers, she will recover fast as I have given her a Tier 5 healing pill, for the time being, when she is unconscious, I need them to use their healing spell on her to ensure she is restored to consciousness,€ Alec said.
Arthur and Brandon : €œ¬€
Arthur and Brandon both stood rooted to the ground after hearing Alec mention the Tier 5 healing pills as if they were a common commodity.
€œDon€™t worry, we will definitely get her there,€ Arthur said as he and Brandon collected Sophia from Alec.
Even at that moment, they could see the injuries on her face slowly recovering as they marvelled at the potency of the pill.
They felt Alec had wasted such a precious resource just for a facial wound, but they were just young boys; what could they possibly understand?
Alec had lived in two different worlds, with more extensive experience from his time on Earth than in this new world where he now resided.
But no matter what world he was in, he knew that girls were always sensitive about the way they looked.
There was no way he would have left Sophia€™s face like that.
He was certain she would have been embarrassed to face them or anybody else after that incident, so giving her that pill was more of a way for him to preserve her image in some way.
€œWar God Mage Academy, choose your next fighter!€ the referee said as he saw the other two taking the injured Sophia away.
€œWhy call for the next fighter?
Am I not already standing here?€ Alec remarked, his voice not loud but still audible amidst the cacophony of the crowd.
Despite the noise, it seemed as though almost everyone had heard him.
The referee appeared frozen in mid-air, and even Victor Steele, who stood on the opposite side of the ring, waving to the Vajra Academy fans froze, the spectators, too, fell silent at that moment, captivated by the sudden interruption.
€œAre you kidding me?
Aren€™t you the captain of your team?
Why would you start a fight in the second round?€ The referee found himself mumbling a question that was in no way his concern, causing Alec, to raise an eyebrow in the referee€™s direction, he could hardly bring himself to respect the referee again after he displayed such blatant and undisguised bias towards the War God Academy team.
€œIs there any rule that states I can€™t fight?
If not, then you better stop bothering me and announce the next fight,€ Alec retorted rudely, his tone laced with disdain.
As he had no intention of showing any reverence to the referee, given the unfair treatment the War God Academy team had experienced during Sophia€™s fight.
