The Golem Mage - Chapter 59
Chapter 59: Giving Them Creeps Chapter 59: Giving Them Creeps Brandon had always spared with them a few times, so he was well aware of their true powers.
Engaging in a physical strength contest with them was certainly not a wise decision, and Alec had instructed him to focus on utilizing his strongest power, emphasizing that his affinity for the earth element was his greatest gift.
Alec often referred to him as a €œmagic swordsman,€ conveying that his true strength lay in his abilities as both a magician and a swordsman.
With Alec€™s guidance and encouragement, he had continuously honed his skills, leading to his heightened battle awareness and mastery of earth element spells.
While his peak Affinity did contribute to his faster mastery of the spells, Alec would never admit it.
As Alec enjoyed the look of satisfaction he received every time Brandon improved based on his advice.
He felt that revealing that Brandon possessed an abnormal Affinity that accelerated his progress with earth elements would diminish the praise he got, as Brandon would then attribute his success solely to his own genius.
Brandon continued to eliminate approximately five to ten Goblins every minute, seamlessly casting spell after spell without pause.
In just ten minutes , he single-handedly dispatched over forty Goblins, an impressive feat.
Alec suddenly remembered that Brandon was also blessed with lower mana consumption when casting earth element spells and had a higher recovery rate compared to most mages at his level, thanks to his Affinity.
The Goblins looked around in shock, realizing that most of their comrades lay dead.
Even the 50 mages who accompanied Brandon and the golems felt as though they had performed minimally, merely cleaning up after the four main bosses who were leading the charge.
The ease at which Brandon and the golems dispatched their foes made it seem to the fifty mages behind them as though they were trapped in an illusion.
€œWhen did killing creatures from the second dimension become so simple?€ one of the Tier 1 Mage soldiers asked in disbelief.
€œSince Alec took charge, we€™re truly fortunate to have him leading us this time, stay focused,€ another soldier replied, reminding them to remain vigilant.
The dwindling group of goblins, numbering less than a hundred, finally started to succumb to their overwhelming fear and made the decisive choice to flee from the battlefield.
With their backs turned, they raced away faster than they had arrived, their terrified screams filling the air.
€œNo one told us we were facing devils!€ some cried out in desperation.
€œI want to go home!€
€œMummy!
Where is my mommy?€
Amidst the chaos, the goblins cursed in their native language, grappling with the realization that they couldn€™t endure the massacre any longer, for the first time, they deeply regretted not possessing the extra legs, like some certain races in the second dimension, as it would have allowed them to run even faster.
As they made their retreat, their expressions abruptly changed upon encountering a group of mages blocking their path ahead.
Unbeknownst to them, while their attention was engrossed in the dreadful battle, Alec had sent a hundred and fifty mages from the Lanzt family to quietly gather behind them.
Alec had set yet another trap, anticipating their instinctual flight at the last moments of the fight.
€œCheckmate,€ Alec declared, as he had strategically played his final move, an elaborate trap he had meticulously prepared so the goblins would not be able to escape.
The mages from the Lanzt family casted a torrent of wind blade spells hanging in the air due to Alec€™s command.
As the air around the goblins cracked with the sheer power of the wind blades.
€œRelease,€ Alec ordered, the Lanzt family he had secretly instructed to block the goblins retreat unleashed the wind blades upon the goblins who remained frozen in fear.
Unable to comprehend why they had been targeted from the beginning to the end, the goblins realized that they had always been mere pawns in someone€™s game.
It dawned on them that, even with the strength of their two-thousand strong Tier 1 and unclassified rank goblin army, they stood no chance against the devil( Alec) orchestrating it all.
He seemed to have anticipated their every move.

And when the wind blades finally reached them, the Goblins stood no chance; as their bodies were cleaved into separate parts, the wind blades sliced through them without meeting any resistance.
Had they been at their full strength, they might have managed to dodge or block the attack, but Alec had strategically exhausted them before playing his trump card-the Lantz family wind blade storm.
The thud of Goblin bodies hitting the ground resonated as Alec succeeded in slaying a thousand Goblins without suffering a single casualty.
This feat bolstered the morale of the city guards who were still engaged in combat with the Goblins, holding them at bay so they don€™t pass through.
Observing the fruits of his strategy, Alec nodded in satisfaction, content with the direction the battle had taken.
High above the fray, Tier 6 mages and Tier 6 Goblins watched the conflict unfold.
The two Goblins flanking the Hobgoblin were visibly seething with rage.
Their losses in the Tier 1 battle had far exceeded their expectations, they had assumed they would gain superiority in the Tier 1 battlefield , and even hoped it would be their first decisive victory that would allow the Tier 1 goblins to support the Tier 2 Goblins with their overwhelming numbers and swiftly secure the two battlefields to the goblins.
However, their strategy had crumbled; as the Tier 1 Goblins, whom they had considered mere cannon fodder to secure a strategic advantage in the war, had been decimated by Alec and his tactics.
Moreover, with most of their Tier 1 forces still entangled with the city guards, the battle was destined to drag on without a clear victor, prolonging the conflict.
The fact that Alec€™s swift victory had so dramatically lifted the humans€™ spirits only fuelled their frustration.
However, they were powerless to act against Alec; after all, they were bound by a blood curse that forbade interference in this fight, breaking that oath would grant the Tier 7 mages of the city the right to retaliate without repercussions from the Blood moon.
The Hobgoblin wore a look of surprise as he surveyed the battlefield.
€œI can€™t believe you have such talent in the Tier 1 battlefield,€ he remarked, his gaze fixed on Draco.
Draco stood near the city€™s guardian, a Tier 6 mage like himself.
It was apparent to the Hobgoblins that the Draco and Alec were related due to their garments bearing the same family emblem, signalling their shared clan heritage, with a smug grin, Draco responded confidently.
€œAs long as that fellow is there, you can forget about winning the Tier 1 battle, he is invincible among Tier 1 mages,€ Draco boasted.
Even without knowing Alec€™s true combat prowess, he was aware that Alec€™s golem had once slain a peak Tier 1 zombie-an achievement that spoke volumes of its strength in the same realm.
The Goblins stared at Draco in shock, realizing the battle had just escalated in difficulty, and with the Tier 3 and Tier 2 battles still in a deadlock, no victor seemed imminent.
€œThat boy of yours clearly has a very dark heart,€ the Hobgoblin observed.
€œWhat do you mean by that?€ Draco inquired, puzzled.
€œIt€™s simple, those well-versed in the arts of tactics often harbour hearts filled with great darkness and evil, don€™t you see it in his expression?€ the Hobgoblin explained.
€œI€™m still not following you,€ Draco admitted, and even the other Tier 6 mage and the city guardian found themselves drawn into their conversation, eager to understand the Hobgoblin€™s perspective.
€œHe does not feel remorse at all when the goblins are killed, in fact, if you ask me, I would say he was enjoying the moment my race soldiers are killed on his orders, it€™s almost like he is some type of maniac who loves carnage.€
€œDon€™t get me wrong, if he was born in the second dimension, he would be worshipped as a genius, but does your human race feel comfortable keeping a slaughterer like that?
I pity those who shall cross his path in the future, as he shall show no mercy.
And I can tell this just by looking at his expression,€ the Hobgoblin said with shrugged shoulders.
€œWell, that€™s my clan€™s decision to make and not yours,€ Draco answered, not even bothering to answer.
He knew perfectly well that even he did worse than Alec during his younger age, at least Alec directed his killing intents towards the second dimension€™s creatures.
But he, on the other hand, went around killing or crippling the geniuses of the rival families that competed with the Gordon family at his younger age.
He definitely showed no mercy back then and won€™t turn soft now, just watching Alec now really made him realize how he had been.
While he had to do the dirty work himself back then, Alec, on the other hand, called the shots in peace and had those around him finish the work.
The city guardian and the other Tier 6 mage who came to assist against Blood Moon invaders both looked at Alec and felt something different from what Draco was feeling.
It was fear of another genius more dangerous than Draco emerging.
They didn€™t even compare Draco to him because those who scheme in the dark were far more dangerous, and Alec looked like the type who would not hesitate to do anything to win.
To them, Draco was just a brute who fought without consequences, but Alec was different.
And they made it a must to warn their younger generation not to cross him, as they did not want the story of what Draco did in the past happening all over again.
Cause Alec€™s potential was greater than Draco€™s and definitely gave them an eerie vibe that made them believe he would be more dangerous than even Draco.
