The Golem Mage - Chapter 614
Chapter 614: Running.
Chapter 614: Running.
The Patriarch of the Gordons clan could be seen as he dragged the cloth of the invader Mage, who acted as their leader, with his three golems surrounding him.
The entire outer area of the Gordons clan lay in ruins, completely unrecognizable from its once beautiful setup.
€œIt seems you€™ll be working your ass off for the next month, old Third,€ the Fourth Elder of the Gordons clan said, tossing the body of two captured mages he had manage to apprehend to the ground.
Among the elders, the Third elder was the only one who had captured a comparatively low number of invaders, after he finished dealing with one of the invaders
He turned around to find that his capable brothers and their supporting golems had apprehended the majority of the intruders.
€œExtra golems should be banned, really!
It€™s not fair,€ the Third Elder grumbled, delivering a forceful strike with his Naginata blade to the face of his captive, knocking him out.
€œDon€™t be a grumpy old man, now let€™s see who this is,€ the Patriarch said, reaching his hand towards the human face mask worn by the invader he had captured.
However, before he could remove it, a massive meteorite hurtled towards their location.
€œWatch out, George!€ the Fifth Elder shouted, but the meteorite descended faster than expected, resulting in a thunderous impact as it crashed down on both the patriarch and the invader Mage in his grasp.
Not only that, but following the attack on the patriarch, the rest of the outer region was soon bombarded in a meteorite shower.
€œI thought we were going in to rescue the guys, this could get them all killed!€ one of the mages who had arrived beside the City Lord, who was now wearing a mask, questioned, expressing his surprise that the City Lord had launched a direct attack like this.
€œI€™m not interested in killing them all.
I just want to ensure that the one in the hands of the Gordons€™ Patriarch is dead, we came here to extract people, but I don€™t think you€™ll be able to forcefully retrieve anything from that man€™s grasp.€
€œ He€™s a dangerous individual, now that I€™ve disoriented them, swoop down and save those you can, and kill those you can€™t€ the masked City Lord barked out his orders to the two mages who had flown over with him.
They swiftly descended, administering pills to some of the rescued invader mages before assisting them to their feet.
Without hesitation, they began to fly away, but as soon as they were rising back to the air, they realized that they had lost four mages from the meteorite bombardment, they had arrived as a group of ten Mage, but now only six remained.
Devastated by their swift defeat at the hands of the Gordons clan, their once towering confidence, due to their high Tier rank, crumbled within minutes of battle.
As they escaped, the City Lord watched their backs, dragging meteorites down to the outer region of the Gordons clan, to hinder any form of pursuit from the Gordons clan.
€œDon€™t think you can come and go as you please!
Leave behind your life!€ a raspy voice broke through the chaotic aftermath of the explosions.
The Gordons€™ Patriarch burst forth from the lingering smoke, emerging from the fog that had shrouded the outer region of their homes due to the meteorite bombardment.
When the City Lord laid eyes upon him, he could hardly recognize him, the Patriarch had fused with his Cyclops Eyes Golem, transforming him into an intimidating figure resembling a black knight clad in armor.
The golems body had transformed into an armor that tightly enveloped his body, with the distinctive T-shaped helmet on his head and the bull horns protruding from both sides of the helmet.
Even while levitating in the air, he held the deceased invader leader firmly in his left hand.
Despite the invader€™s severely charred body, George maintained a strong grip on the dead body.
The City Lord, looking at George, couldn€™t help but smile, he had been certain that such an attack would be incapable of eliminating George, that€™s why he is playing all this schemes as he is not ready to tear down all pretence yet.
€˜Just how strong are you?
Taking a Tier 8 attack so effortlessly, without even a concussion-you truly are full of wonders,€™ the city lord thought.
But his musings were abruptly interrupted when he saw George raise his right hand, causing hundreds of earth spikes to shoot up into the sky.

These spikes were engulfed in what appeared to be red-blackish flames.
While the earth spikes were likely a result of his elemental control, the flames were undoubtedly an attribute of the golem he had merged with.

The Patriarch roared out his spell, and the hundreds of flaming earth spikes seemed to vanish.
€œFuck!€ the city lord cursed as he bolted away in a streak of light, not waiting for the attack to reappear near him
In the night sky, the spectacle of hundreds of red lights chasing a single white light was visible at such a high speed that those who witnessed it felt as if they were seeing a falling star.
Many were quick to make wishes upon the perceived falling stars.

Meanwhile, back at the Gordons clan, the Patriarch descended slowly to the ground, audibly cracking his neck.
The golem that had enveloped his body vanished, dissipating along with his two other accompanying golems.
His three brothers, the Gordons elders approached, seemingly harmless in their demeanor.
However, it was evident that during the City Lord€™s relentless assault, it was the Patriarch who had borne the full brunt of the attack, defending against everything.
Evidence of his resilience was displayed on his right hand, marked by burns that extended up to his elbow.
As he planted his feet on the ground, his eyes, which had flashed with a myriad of black and white hues, returned to their usual state.
His cold demeanor vanished as he tossed the charred corpse to the Fifth Elder.
€œGive this to Old Second, see if he can extract any useful information from it,€ he commanded.
€œNo problem,€ the Fifth Elder responded.
€œAre you okay?
Why didn€™t you let us give chase?€ the Third Elder asked.
€œBecause we wouldn€™t be able to catch them,€ the Patriarch replied.
€œThose who came with the one in the middle were Tier 8, the first two escaped using portal stones, and the last one was pursued by a combined spell even I can€™t outrun.€
€œ and i can only cast that spell while merged with my cyclops golem, and you know I can€™t maintain that form for long, I don€™t have golden-forged bones like you, since they came with an intention to retreat we won€™t be able to catch them easily, Tier 8 mages are slippery you know when they are escaping €œ
€œBut whoever it was will have their own wounds to heal,€ he added, glancing at his right hand before snorting.
€œYou all can head out now.
I€™ll handle the rest of the trouble here,€ said the First Elder, who had arrived silently.
The other elders nodded, but the Patriarch had a different glint in his eyes.
€œIs the fight still going on?€ George asked, causing everyone present to look at him, puzzled.
€œNo, it€™s over, but Alec€™s team won anyways,€ the First Elder informed him.
€œOh no, I missed it!
I swear, I€™ll kill that intruder all over again when I get him!€ the Patriarch bellowed in frustration as he realized he had missed the rest of his grandson€™s match.
