The Golem Mage - Chapter 629
Chapter 629: Paths of Evolution.
Chapter 629: Paths of Evolution.
In the end, Alec successfully helped Agnes evolve all five of her golems, before collapsing onto his back with a loud thud that echoed around them.
Agnes squealed and rushed toward the new forms of the three golems Alec had just worked on.
As usual, before starting the evolution, Alec had explained the paths available for her to choose from, just as he had done when he worked on the stone golems€™ evolution.
Alec believed that as the master, she should have a say in what path her golems would evolve into.
And she decided that two of them would follow the mud golem path, while the last would become an ice golem.
Alec was surprised by her choice of the mud golem over the tank/ attacking/control-type ice golem.
However, upon further reflection, he began to see a connection, as he recalled that in the past, when he wanted his golems to focus on a specific path, he created something to steer them in that direction.
For example, crafting earth spears for his early batch of golems had resulted in the creation of Legion, who awakened the Origin Spear technique due to his wielding a spear and still maintained an intermediary mastery in it.
It was as if Alec had intentionally set him on that path, putting two and two together, he realized that Agnes just happened to possess both water and earth elements, which seemed to exert a pull on the choices within their evolution routes.
Although he couldn€™t fully articulate it, he now understood that the owner€™s preferences could shape their golems€™ potential future paths, so he felt Agnes choosing the mud golems worked better for her due to her dual affinity.
As Alec began creating the ice golem, he experienced a sense of déjà vu, reminiscent of Titan.
This time, he decided to evolve each golem one at a time, avoiding any risks.
He was certain Agnes€™s mana wouldn€™t be enough to save him after reading the new instructions, and he didn€™t want to mess up three golems at once.
So, he chose to proceed one at a time, even though the slower pace felt tedious.
He first delivered the mana shock to the first clay golem he planned to work on, split it€™s body as he watched the mana threads that held the body of the golem together, after that, he smoothly removed the earth element core embedded in its chest.
He exchanged it for the Tier 4 ice demonic beast crystal, turning it into the golem€™s new core.
The moment he placed the core inside, the clay golem€™s body appeared to be on the verge of disintegrating into snow dust, as the properties of the two materials were fundamentally different.
At this point, even Agnes began to fear she was about to lose the golem.
However, having read about situations like this from his inspect skill, Alec had taken precautions.
He instantly summoned Titan from his space pouch.
This time, instead of stabilizing the golem€™s body by himself, he directed Titan to freeze the parts of the clay golem that were already breaking apart.
This action solidified the fractured part of the clay golems body, allowing Alec to crush some ice materials and insert them into the new rune pen he had acquired from the system store.
Unlike the previous rune pens, this one was not a one-time use however, the process of using it came with significant stress and effort-something Alec knew he would need to adapt to if he was serious about his endeavour as a golem doctor, ( that€™s what he decided to call what he is doing now).
After the rune pen was filled with ice properties, Alec had Titan unfreeze, some of the frozen parts of the golem one by one, before he started drawing ice spells both offensive and defensive-as well as related spells the ice golem was meant to learn on the crystal positioned in its chest, which now acted as its core.
Slowly, Alec inscribed the ice runes all over the golem€™s body one at a time after he was through with the core, with each stroke he left behind an intricate ice pattern on the clay golem body surface.
Once he completed the engraving, the runes began to shine with light, and the golem started to levitate.
Alec then asked Titan to pass his mana to him.
This time, however, it wasn€™t like the raw mana sent to him by Agnes; Titan was infusing Alec with ice-attributed mana.

As a result, specks of ice crystallised appeared behind Alec, where Titan placed his hand.
In return, Alec was able to channel ice-attributed mana after Titan€™s energy mixed with his own, as he gradually crystallise the rest of the clay golem€™s body.
This transformation turned it into a pure ice golem, and with the new ice core regenerating in its chest and drawing ice element particles from the air, the process accelerated.
The evolution finished with one final flash of light before the golem returned to the ground.
Unlike Titan, however, Agnes€™s ice golem bore no weapons; it embodied the quintessential image of an ice golem, with a bulky body, broad arms adorned with spikes, and a chilling aura surrounding it.
The transformation of the mud golems was less complicated.
After breaking down its body, changing the core and engraving the necessary runes, Alec shattered another crystal that was gotten from a said creature that was able to use mud element due to the system store
And he had directed it toward the levitating golems, controlling the energy from the crystal to reshape their body, which then underwent its own transformation.
When the evolution finished, Alec struggled to determine whether the mud golems was a liquid-type or a solid form golem.
However, after observing it for several minutes, he gave up the debate and concluded that the mud golem had the ability to shift between solid and liquid states.

€œWhat the hell happened here?€ Arthur€™s voice jolted both Alec and Agnes from their admiration of the five new golems.
As they turned to see the rest of the team, which had finally completed their cultivation.
Brandon and Arthur radiated a Tier 5 Mage aura, though Brandon€™s aura felt significantly heavier.
Meanwhile, the knight appeared to have solidified his foundation; looking as if with a little bit more time, he, too, would soon step into the low Tier 5 Mage Realm.
The group looked over at Agnes, noting that her aura still felt quite unstable, indicating she had not yet solidified her new realm.
However, when they glanced at the five golems beside her, which emanated the same air as her but with heavy aura, they sensed that she might possess the greatest battle power among them.
(Note: For those wondering where the runes go after the evolution is complete, they sink into the body, becoming integral to the golems€™ ability to cast spells.
Golems are magical beings made from materials like clay, iron, or stone, on a fundamental level, this is how they function.)
