The Golem Mage - Chapter 632
Chapter 632: Calling Out The Teams.
Chapter 632: Calling Out The Teams.
After the crowd finally settled from the king€™s appearance, it was now time for the third round to begin.
In the middle of the battle ring, a small circular hole opened up as the red-haired referee, who had provided insights at the start of the academy competition rose from this small opening.
The spectators, curious about the spectacle, finally saw an earthen pillar beneath his feet slowly rising him to the air, creating an ethereal entrance to the stage.
€œWelcome, ladies and gentlemen to the Royal Arena!
Are you ready for the first match of the third round?€ the referee exclaimed, instantly igniting enthusiasm in the audience.
As a deafening roar of €œYes!€ erupted, causing the Royal Arena to vibrate from the intensity of the cheering.
€œIt€™s clear that you€™re all quite excited, so I won€™t waste any more of your precious time, the third round will begin in just a few minutes,€ he added.
€œBut before that, join me in welcoming one of the participants€™ teams, the dark, the eerie, the mysterious, Onyx Academy!€ The red haired referee enthusiastically introduced the team, doing his best to capture the essence of the academy, in that little introduction.
As soon as Onyx Academy was announced, a wave of cheers erupted from one side of the Royal Colosseum.
It was evident that the seating had been arranged to separate the supporters of each academy.
This division was intentional; prior to selling the tickets, buyers had been asked which academy they would support in the battle, this arrangement aimed not only to foster a sense of unity among supporters but also to minimize any potential arguments that could lead to fights.
This was because the competition committee was against any unruly scenes before the majesty, the king of the Northern Kingdom.
However, it was undeniable that the supporters of Onyx Academy outnumbered those cheering for the War God Academy team.
And this was because the War God Academy lacked dedicated cheering fans that were students of the academy present in the arena, while most of the Great Eight Academy fans, which had been knocked out had come out to support Onyx Academy€™s victory especially those from the Royal Mage Academy and Vajra Academy, who had been eliminated by the War God Academy team.
Their fans were particularly vocal, convinced that the War God Academy team was destined to lose this time.
No one thought Alec would be able to waltz his way through this challenge; although he had defeated four mages on his own in the last round, but few believed he could replicate such feats against Onyx Academy.
Many felt that Alec would be preoccupied with the captain of Onyx Academy and his undead summons, as they were unaware of the numerous golems under his command.
Meanwhile, a set of Onyx Academy supporters seated close to the middle raised their hands high, igniting sparks of black and white mana that filled the air with vibrant images showcasing the images, of the mages in their academy team.
The display was wide and beautiful, resembling a massive banner, only that it was crafted from magic.
Such feats should have been impossible, yet it was evident that Onyx Academy had invested significantly in their image, purchasing batches of tickets for their students who knew how to activate this enchanting display that thrust Onyx Academy into the spotlight.
As all of this unfolded, one of the tunnel doors swung wide open.
Moments later, the Onyx Academy team began to march in, stepping forward one by one with impressive poise.
They were led by a male mage, whose rough-looking long sword hung heavily behind him.
A tattered cloak shrouded his body, but beneath it was the sleek, clean uniform of Onyx Academy, a deep dark colour accented with dark blue trim.
Beside him stood Dorian Voss, the captain of Onyx Academy, also clad in the academy€™s uniform, distinguished by five dark blue stripes on his left shoulder, indicating his rank.
The rest of the ten-man team followed closely behind their captain and the coordinator of their team.
Dorian sported an undercut hairstyle, with the majority of his hair pulled up and tied back, while the sides and lower portion were cut short.
His stride was confident, yet his eyes betrayed a hint of fatigue.

As the team emerged into full view, the cheers swelled, fuelled by the fact that even with the designated seating arrangements, Onyx Academy still had a larger fan base.
Some of their supporters had even taken seats in the area reserved for War God Academy fans, a subtle display of the influence the Great Eight academies had amassed over years of dominance.
With a raise of the referee€™s hand, the audience fell silent once more.
He looked around and saw that Onyx Academy had reached the center of the battlefield, where a line was drawn in between the two side and just a few steps from his earth pillar.
€œFrom the other corner, let us welcome the opposing team, the underdogs, the record breakers, the one-man army team, War God Academy!€ the referee announced, drawing attention to the other side of the Arena
A fanatical cheering erupted, taking the larger crowd of Onyx Academy supporters by surprise, although they still vastly outnumbered the fans of War God Academy.
Despite the fact that the supporters didn€™t attend the same academy, these supporters shared a common bond, they had all fallen in love with the rugged charm of War God Academy€™s captain, Alec.
He had captured the hearts of many students from various ordinary academies.
To them, he was more than just another participant; he represented hope for the ordinary academy students.
They felt if Alec could achieve such greatness, they could do too, if they worked more hard.
And Since Alec embodied the spirit of War God Academy, it was easy to see why their support was so fervent, many fans tore their shirts and waved them in the air, but what stood out more clearly was the tri-colour display that marked the War God Academy section.
A section waved brown flags, another flaunted black, and the final group raised red flags, it was almost as if they all understood what to do despite being from different academies.
This tri-colour scheme mirrored Alec€™s hair colour, which had become a significant symbol for the War God Academy, after all, their uniforms were primarily black with red accents.
As the drama unfolded among the War God Academy supporters, the Dean of the War God Academy in the second section smiled, feeling their supporters€™ determination to make a statement that rivalled the Onyx Academy fans.
€œThis is going to be interesting.
If we€™re going down, let€™s at least go down with a bang!€ he said, turning his attention to the tunnel entrance that had just opened.
