The Golem Mage - Chapter 651
Chapter 651: Irregularity Chapter 651: Irregularity €œFinally!
I€™ve waited so long for this!€ the system spirit exclaimed, rubbing its bubbling hands before Alec, which he found both cute and amusing.
If the spirit knew what Alec was thinking, it would probably wish for the ground to open up and swallow it whole.
Throughout their time together, Alec had realized that the system spirit wanted to be feared; or seen as a respected safe, there was no way it would ever want to be seen as a cute entity.
€œSo, what€™s left on my list?
I€™ve been grinding for materials needed to create a new armor set.
If you remember, it€™s this same grinding that€™s keeping me from going to the region where the Golden Horn Drakes reside,€
€œJust because of the grudges that Tier 6 Drake has against me, there are a lot of strong demonic beasts there, and they€™re solitary Demonic beasts€ Alec complained, turning to the system spirit.
€œHmph!
So what if you can€™t go to that part of the forest right now?
It€™s just a little lizard Drake.
If you weren€™t still in the Tier 5 Mage Realm, it should be dead by now.€
€œA no-name beast acting like a king!
Soon enough, I€™m sure you€™ll reach a new power level with the equipment you€™re about to craft,€ the system spirit replied.
€œAnd when you do, not only will you be approaching an almost impossible level, but believe me, you might even be able to fight head-to-head with the demonic beast kings of each region!€ The spirit€™s eyes flashed with excitement as it explained.
Looking at his little guidance spirit, Alec struggled to figure out who would really be wearing the armor and gaining the power, as the system spirit seemed even more excited about it than he was that it had started to brag on his behalf.
It was almost as if it had been waiting for the red Salamander set to be destroyed, as it gazed into the darkness while lost in thought about how Alec would look with the new gear.
This caused Alec to shake his head as he made his way toward the second level of the Beast Forest.
He wasn€™t ready to harvest the loot from the Primordial Trees just yet.
At the moment, he felt the team didn€™t need any new pills, as he had been pumping his ass and producing them pills for some time now.
He wanted to help the team wean off the medicinal properties they had become overly reliant on.
What he was more interested in now was building himself up to the point where he wouldn€™t have to reveal his last card, his Devourer Bloodline.
—
Alec stepped into the Beast Forest this time with a clear mind, which meant he had been randomly teleported to a region in the second level.
As he skillfully landed on the ground, he heard a screeching sound behind him, causing him to turn his head, and when he did he was surprised by what he saw.
[Inspect]
Name: Sparrowkeet
Tier: 5 (Low)
Affinity: Wind
In front of him stood the same race of demonic beast that had given him his first death experience in the Beast Forest.
Although this particular Sparrowkeet had only a wind affinity, unlike the first one he encountered that possessed two elemental affinities, but he still felt a surge of excitement while facing it.
He summoned his Blood Changdao into his left hand.
€œYou€™ll do just fine!€ Alec said, a smile forming on his face as all he could think about was revenge against the beast standing before him.
He bent his knees slightly, his gaze fixed on the beast as he recalled his last encounter with its kind.
The mere aura of the previous one had been enough to make Alec pray for a quick death; but now, he felt nothing but confidence when facing such pressure now, he was that certain that with a single powered up movement, he could slice the creature into pieces.
The Sparrow-like beast emitted screeching noises, sensing Alec€™s challenge.
It bent forward too, its beak aimed at Alec while its talons gripped the branch it had perched on tightly.

€œCome!€ Alec provoked, and the beast launched itself toward him, generating a small sonic boom as it sped through the air.
The winds spiralled around its body with such force that it seemed to come at Alec like a barrage of razor-sharp wind blades.

Alec infused his blade with a surge of Mana and swiftly drew it, disappearing from the SparrowKeet€™s view.
In an instant, he reappeared on the other side, his back facing the beast as he expertly swirled his Changdao before sheathing it.
Just then, he sensed a fluctuation in his mental awareness.
Turning to face the source, he was surprised to see the SparrowKeet cut in half, with a battered-looking kangaroo beside it.
This sight shocked Alec because it was the first time he would witness such a scene whereby a beast was beaten and it was not by him.
Initially, the movement in his mental awareness made him flinch, and he briefly feared the sparrow demonic beast might have survived his strike.
However, upon closer inspection and seeing the kangaroo, he realized he had been overthinking.
He was about to draw his Changdao again to finish the new beast that had appeared, when he noticed the famished and weak kangaroo biting into the flesh of the dead SparrowKeet.
This unexpected behaviour caused Alec to pause, as he recalled that kangaroos on Earth primarily fed on grass, not meat.
After about five minutes, he watched as the kangaroo finally extracted the power crystal from the SparrowKeet.
When it raised its head, Alec noticed a long, bleeding claw cut across its left eye, but despite its injury, the kangaroo glared defiantly at him.
€œSee this little-€ Alec cursed as he prepared to strike, but the kangaroo turned tail and dashed into the bushes.
He was caught off guard by the creature€™s surprising intelligence.
In fact, Alec had never realized before today that the power crystal could be extracted from a demonic beast instead of being dragged into the ground by the Beast Forest.
Though he could have chased after the kangaroo or sent his golems after it, but he decided to let it go.
He felt that for teaching him something new and demonstrating such intelligence, it deserved its freedom.
Alec hoped it would survive and bring him further excitement in the future if they ever still cross path
In the next moment, Alec summoned all his golems and sent them out in different directions to scout for demonic beasts, instructing them to ignore the kangaroo if they happened to pass by it.
He needed to slay more Tier 5 demonic beasts to gather the complete materials for his new spirit equipment set.
That€™s why he prioritized gathering intelligence; he didn€™t want to waste time fighting demonic beasts that might not match his affinities or his combat style.
With the golems deployed, Alec climbed onto a tree branch, crossing his arms as he closed his eyes, appearing to be sleeping.
However, he had his mental senses spread wide around him, prepared for any potential sneak attacks.
