The Golem Mage - Chapter 656
Chapter 656: First Wave.
Chapter 656: First Wave.
The system spirit materialized before Alec, appearing with its golem body as it has forced its way out from Alec€™s space pouch.
Ignoring the questioning look on Alec€™s face, it focused intently on the icy blue light shooting into the skies.
€œWhat the hell?
Why are you allowing a golem to undergo a breakthrough inside the Beast Forest?€ the system spirit demanded.
€œHow was I supposed to know my golem would level up so soon?€ Alec shot back, spreading his hands wide in frustration.
€œYou€™re in big trouble,€ the system spirit replied, dramatically slapping its golem head with a hand, making Alec scrunch up his face at the gesture.
€œCan you just explain what the real problem is?€ Alec shouted at the system spirit, who trembled at Alec€™s outburst.
€œLet me make it simple for you, normally, if Titan were having a regular breakthrough, it wouldn€™t cause much of a reaction.
You€™d just see a flash of light, and that would be it, no big flashy display and no magical energy would be sent out wide either.€
€œBut what Titan is experiencing right now is an evolutionary breakthrough,€ the system spirit elaborated.
€œNot only is his body being remodelled to align with the new path you€™ve chosen for him, but so are his equipment, power crystal, and every mana vein constructed within him, all being broken down and baptized by this world€™s energy.€
€œYou should have realized by now that he€™s able to draw in more ice elemental particles because this Beast Forest is assisting him, but here lies the problem,€ the spirit said, pausing to point toward the icy blue light piercing the sky.
€œEvery single demonic beast at this level can see it, feel it, sense it, and those nearby will be eager to stampede over here, as they€™ll want to devour Titan€™s power crystal in a bid to attain its greater power.€
€œThough Titan€™s power crystal would be more desirable to ice type demonic beasts, but trust me when I say that if a non-ice elemental beast should devoured Titan€™s core right now, it would awaken the power of ice and still be able to climb the ranks, this is due to the immense power contained within Titan€™s crystal.€
€œTo those beasts in this area, the light looks like a beacon signalling a heavenly treasure or a super pill that could elevate their realm, that is how they perceive Titan, and he is especially vulnerable during this phase of evolution, as he must not be disturbed.
€œ
€œThis is why breakthroughs are advised to take place in secluded locations,€ the system spirit concluded, raising its voice back toward Alec.
Alec gnashed his teeth at all that the system spirit had revealed, but Legion€™s voice broke through his thoughts.
€œIt€™s simple, Master.
If all we have to do is protect this big oaf, we€™ll gladly do our best to ensure his safety,€ Legion said, prompting a smile from Alec.
Howl!
Just then a loud and eerie howl echoed through the air, causing Alec to turn toward the source.
The golems quickly took their positions around the frozen domain that Titan had created, still encased in the icy sphere that levitated in the air.
€œIt seems your guests arrived earlier than expected, that€™s my cue, fight!!€ the system spirit shouted encouraging the other golems before vanishing back into Alec€™s pouch.
€œThat little…,€ Alec cursed, watching how swiftly the system spirit disappeared when trouble loomed.
€œHey, no matter what happens, do not let a single demonic beast past you unless you€™re already dead!
Nothing must happen to Titan; he has to complete his evolution, get ready to kill every single beast, use everything you€™ve got!
Titan must safely ascend to the Tier 6 golem realm,€ Alec ordered, rallying his team for the fight ahead.
In response to Alec€™s command, the golems brandished their weapons and summoned their minions.
The Hive Queen called forth her hatchlings, the Mana Suckers type, the large ones known for their immense defense and her latest brood, the Arachnoids just like her, but we€™re younger and bore the bodies of ten-year-olds in the upper part of the body, and were all equipped with one specialised weapon of their choice, mostly curved blades.
There were also the lightning elementals gathered around Tempest€™s butcher side, while Oni, on the other hand, still needed corpses to create his army.
On Hunter€™s side, the anti magic iron golems stood ready, each wielding a swords and iron shield as their bodies were modelled after knights.
Just as his golems summoned their minions, Alec began to feel the unsettling aura of various demonic beasts closing in on him.

Despite his motivational speech, he couldn€™t shake the sense of panic rising within him.
If it were just about fighting, he might not have cared as much, but this all related to Titan.
Alec knew the consequences of being interrupted during a breakthrough; it was one of the worst fates a mage could experience.
Cause should such an interruption occur, not only would they be unable to reach their full potential, but they might also fail to break through to the next realm, suffering a backlash that could hinder them from ever ascending again.
Now, Alec faced the daunting prospect of fighting off potentially every beast in the area because he wanted to make sure such a thing never happen to Titan his greatest shield.
Lost in thought, the ground suddenly vibrated violently.
Looking up, he saw a massive number of demonic beasts rushing toward them, prompting a curse to escape his lips.
€œIt€™s times like this I think being in danger in the Second Dimension with the whole gang is bliss,€ Alec muttered, reminiscing about the times he had stirred up trouble in the Second Dimension and simply ran when things got tough.
It was seen as a cowardly move by some mages and a jerk move by all of the enemies he had made in the second Dimension, but it had always kept him and his team safe.
In fact Brandon and Arthur had truly embodied the art of running and acting like pure rascals also due to that same tactics.
Just thinking of them brought a smile to his face as he contemplated what might have happened if he had brought them along this time.
If the mages who ventured into the Second Dimension could hear Alec€™s thoughts at that moment, they would undoubtedly cringe.
However, those thoughts were quickly interrupted as the beasts drew nearer.
Bang!!!
Legion wasted no time, launching bombshells into the midst of the incoming horde, taking down several demonic beasts before the battle even officially began.
His attack called the first strike and started the battle as the melee golems rushed forward to form a defensive line, ready to hold their ground as they faced the first wave of demonic beast.
