Chapter 662: Drake Form & Beta Wolf.
The moment Alec cast his bloodline spell, his body began to change, bones cracking and muscles twitching almost immediately.
The first sensation he felt was the shadow wolf trying to reach out to him.
Though it communicated through growls, but Alec could sense and understand what it wanted, it was asking to be released before Alec€™s shapeshifting completed.
Swiftly, Alec casted another spell before the effects of the shapeshift fully manifested.
[> Low Bloodline Spell €“ Manifest Beast Form €“ Shadow Wolf <]
As soon as Alec invoked this spell, he felt the tattoo representing the shadow wolf on his back was attempting to tear its way out.
The process was accompanied by intense pain, but he managed to suppress any sounds, not wanting to show the four demonic beasts analysing him any sign of weakness.
Before their eyes, a massive shadow wolf emerged from Alec€™s back, slowly returning to its full shape.
It was a sight to behold; the sleek, dark fur of the shadow wolf radiated a regal aura.
The Peak Tier 5 ice beasts struggled to comprehend how a human could contain a demonic beast as powerful as the one now manifesting before them inside its body, and no matter how hard they tried to crack their head and think, they just could not reach a conclusion.
Ooooohhh!
Before they could fully process the situation, the shadow wolf howled to the skies and lunged toward the nearest shadow, vanishing, and they completely lost all track of it as they were unable to feel its dark aura again.
The four ice demonic beast bosses became serious, scanning their surroundings as they tried to determine from where it might launch its next attack.
They were familiar with how shadow wolves operated, but what they didn€™t realize is that they have never faced a shadow wolf like Alec€™s, despite the fact that it had not transcended to a higher state, it€™s still a formidable Beta rank wolf, and in a one-on-one match against another Peak Tier 5 shadow wolf, it would easily dominate completely .
One reason for this was that it had been devouring the souls of other shadow wolves, and with each one consumed, its bloodline was being purified slowly, and despite the small change per souls Alec had made sure to hunt a lot of shadow wolves to help upgrade its Bloodline slight, elevating it above other shadow wolves.
Additionally, Alec played a significant role in enhancing its abilities.
With only four beast spaces available to fill in the Low Tier of his Devourer bloodline space, Alec wasn€™t in a rush to find the next demonic beast that would fill the next two slots.
And for the extra souls of demonic beasts he always got from all his killing that wasn€™t the same breed or didn€™t match with the two demonic beasts that already resided within his Microcosmic universe, he employed a system skill called €œRecycle.€
Once activated, this skill allowed him to gain a portion of bloodline points from this beast by breaking down their souls.
And with bloodline points, Alec could purchase various items from the system store, such as beast souls for his formed demonic beast soul to devour, thereby assisting in their evolution.
However, bloodline points offered more sophisticated options than merely acquiring extra souls.
They could also be used to level up the existing skills of his demonic beast souls.
It was only after acquiring these bloodline points that Alec realized the shadow wolf€™s skills were at their lowest level.
In fact, 90 to 85% of the demonic beast in the Beast Forest had not fully understood their spells; as they matured from their child stage to adult stage, they awakened their racial skills due to their lineage but had never thought to train them, relying on their natural ability to cast those skills by directing their mana they way the skills were already imprinted in their minds.
Alec learned that there were five levels beyond this entry stage( The stage most of the demonic beasts in the first and second level of the Beast forest are in), which he referred to as the basic stage due to the system€™s classification.
After levelling one of the shadow wolf€™s skills to rank five, he received a notification requiring a significant amount of bloodline points to evolve it to the intermediary rank which he left for the moment as he couldn€™t afford it.
But this new development prompted Alec to consult with the system spirit to gain a deeper understanding of the topic at hand.
That was when the system spirit explained that it had seen this happen before, and when it occurred, the skill or spell in question would evolve into a higher version of itself.
The basic skill€™s name would change to reflect the newly evolved spell, but that didn€™t mean the beast could no longer cast the old variant.
In fact, the system spirit explained that the older version would be easier for the beast to cast, as reaching that level indicated that it had completely mastered the basic version of the spell, and casting it at that stage would mean lesser consumption of mana and maybe even slight increase in the spell damage.

Hearing such good news, Alec eagerly spent all the bloodline points he had accumulated to level up all the available skills of both the Golden Horned Drake and the shadow wolf to the fifth level.
This also made him realize something significant, by levelling up the skills the beasts had awakened, he was directly contributing to some positive changes that would occur within his bloodline beasts.
For instance, when he levelled up the Dark Claw Slash of the shadow wolf, he noticed it howling in pain inside his mind for several minutes.
But after enduring the discomfort, Alec realized that its claws had grown significantly longer and were now pitch black, resembling obsidian.
These changes happened to enable the shadow wolf to better execute the skill, but the benefit now is that with these upgrades, even the shadow wolf€™s basic swing from its claws became stronger than ever,
And this outcome applied to all the skills Alec helped level up, as they all augment and enforce one part of the demonic beast bodies or talent.
These enhancements allowed various aspects of the shadow wolf to surpass the normal limits of its racial potential, while the Golden horned Drake was fast approaching its capped level.
Given the physical upgrade and the slight spiritual transformations taking place, Alec had no doubts that the shadow wolf would not just hold its own against any of these beasts in a one-on-one confrontation; but would instead deliver a devastating surprise to whichever beast he chose as its opponent.
Alec€™s shadow wolf was set to redefine their understanding of what a shadow wolf could do.
With the shadow wolf gone, the demonic beasts decided to leave the task of tracking it to the Frost Wolf, as it was not alone, it had its pack to help but that was not the only reason the second reason it was the one they chose was because of it also had a keen tracking ability thanks to its heightened sense of smell.
Clang!
The three beasts who had agreed to face Alec could only stare at him in shock.
While demonic beasts don€™t exhibit a wide range of facial expressions, if any human other than Alec had been observing them at this moment, they would have recognized the astonishment on their faces.
They watched as Alec groaned in pain while his body underwent a transformation.
He twisted and contorted as golden scales appeared, covering his half naked body.
On the right side of his head, a really small horn poked out, accompanied by a long tail.
And behind him, five long spikes began to protrude, the fifth at the very end of his back being the smallest.
It was almost as if they served as indicators of the Beast realm, particularly since the Golden Horned Drake that Alec possessed was still at the low Tier 5 realm.
With his transformation complete, Alec resembled a golden dragoniac warrior from the Second Dimension, and also a little bit similar to how the Dragonmir clansmen looked after their transformations.
His form somehow embodied the features from both transformations, creating a unique blend.
Finally settled with the pain gone, Alec let out a sigh of relief and lightly raised his right hand, tightening his fist as he reveled in the power coursing through his body, a smirk spreading across his face.
He had been so focused on evolving his bloodline beast lately that he hadn€™t taken the time to assess their own improvements after shapeshifting( blame the tournament keeping him busy, not the Author €œ¬€).
But now, in his weakest beast form, he felt as if he could eliminate the beasts before him with considerably more ease.
He sensed that the energy from his transformation was propelling him toward the Tier 6 realm, though he hadn€™t quite reached it yet; as the energy from the Golden Horned Drake was still somewhat insufficient.
Still, even that minor energy surge had drastically elevated him beyond the level he had been at a few moments ago.
