Chapter 678: Iron Body 2.
[Evolution Path Found]
× Silver Body Golem Stage 2 Iron Body Type (Cost: 250,000 system points and 25,000 mana)
That was the only option that appeared for Arthur€™s golem, and while Alec wasn€™t surprised, given that it was an iron body type, he had just hoped the system would offer another variation for the golem€™s evolution or another branch that was a little bit different from what the Gordons normally followed.
Alec had acquired some knowledge about the iron body golem from the information transferred to him by the system from his ancestors€™ texts.
It was said that the iron body golem had a singular evolutionary route for each rank.
At the low ranks, it existed as a bronze body golem which is the Stage 1; at the mid rank, it evolves to the silver body stage, which is the Stage 2.
At the high ranks, it finally reaches the golden body stage, which is the Stage 3, though it was a known rumour that the third Elder of the Gordon clan, a gifted genius, had discovered a method to advance his golem to the next stage prematurely by infusing it with his Qi, forcing it€™s body into the golden stage ahead of its evolution.
These were all the recognized stages of the iron body golem, but there was also a stage referred to as a myth: the diamond body stage, which supposedly could only be achieved when the golem entered the Monarch realm.
Alec had read about this, but no member of the current Gordon clan had ever reached the Monarch realm, making it difficult to ascertain whether it was merely a fable or a genuine possibility.
Nonetheless, Alec was determined to find out, he believed that if he ever reached the Monarch realm, he would be able to help his family attain higher levels with the assistance of the amulet world.
Without further hesitation, Alec selected the only option presented by the system.
As detailed step-by-step instructions appeared before him, along with all the materials he would need, which were transferred into the system€™s private inventory space.
Alec began pulling the items out one by one, and to anyone watching, it seemed as though he had kept all these treasures hoarded in his space ring all along and was just bringing them out now.
As he unpacked the materials, he understood from the instructions that the mana required was simply the amount needed to perfectly shape the golem€™s body.
Seeing all the items provided by the system, Alec quickly checked the store and realized that the prices for these materials were quite steep and when he cross referenced this with the amount of system points he had spent for the evolution path, he found that there wasn€™t much left.
He presumed the system was taking the little points left as a fee for its assistance in identifying the right evolution path and explaining the steps in detail.
After all such detailed information couldn€™t even be bought, no matter how wealthy someone was, which further highlighted just how invaluable the system was to him.
With this realization, he internally reprimanded himself to ensure he always kept the system a secret.
€œOh shit!
Is that what I think it is?
That€™s a silver spirit metal of mid-grade quality!
These things cost a fortune!
Where did you get that much money to afford all these rare treasures?
Even major clans don€™t come across these so easily, and you have a ton just lying in your space ring?€ Pale exclaimed, recognizing one of the resources Alec had revealed.
€œWhere I got it is none of your business!€ Alec shot back quickly, not wanting to answer any unnecessary questions.
Pale€™s reaction made him acutely aware that the items he had just displayed were clearly not something a person like him should casually possess.
Given how difficult it was for even prominent clans to acquire such materials, he could only imagine the value of what he was about to use, reminding him once again why many people chose to abandon the golem path due to its high costs.
€œWell, I didn€™t mean to pry; I was just curious!€ Pale said, raising his hands defensively, not wanting to ruffle Alec€™s feathers.
To be honest, he had abandoned the idea of competing with either Alec or Lucas.
Ever since they arrived in the capital, the gap between him and Lucas seemed to widen, let alone the chasm separating him from Alec, who was far ahead of the entire team.

€œOkay, good.
Stay out of my way, and I€™ll stay out of yours,€ Alec replied as he prepared to begin.
He initiated a series of hand movements, and a wide, golden rune materialized beneath him, slowly expanding to encompass both him and Arthur€™s golem.
As the rune settled beneath the golem, it began to levitate.
Alec then gestured toward a silver-coloured cauldron that had been provided by the system as one of the materials needed for the evolution.
Alec just felt bad as It was designed for one-time use only, as he found it difficult to look away from the beast engravings that adorned it.
With his mana connected to the cauldron, Alec was able to control its flight path, guiding it underneath the levitating golem.
Almost everyone was present, watching Alec work, with the exception of two instructors and the Dean, Selene who was as the side watched in shock, doing her best to mask her surprise.
She wasn€™t surprised that Alec was accomplishing something that even seasoned golem mages would struggle with; rather, she was just astonished by the rare items he had just revealed.
While Pale recognized just one of the many treasures Alec produced, he was only a novice who hadn€™t encountered much in his young life.
Selene sensed that there were at least five other items more valuable than the one Pale had pointed out, all of which shared a common trait: they were resources so rare they would typically remain locked away in High and Ancient clan€™s treasury, far beyond the reach of the younger generation.
And watching Alec manipulate the cauldron confirmed her suspicion that he might be an alchemist, and she was eager to meet him later to ask if he could produce a Grade 3 mid pill (Tier 6 cultivation pill).
Meanwhile, while everyone else was lost in their own thoughts, Alec was in a world of his own, multitasking furiously.
Any small mistake on his part could jeopardize the evolution process, condemning Arthur€™s golem to never reach the Golden Body state.
Given how deeply the iron body was connected to its master, it was evident that if the evolution failed, Arthur would suffer the most.
The least he could expect was a backlash, and at worst, a regression of one realm.
Alec was aware of all this before he began, and despite the risks, he was confident in his ability to succeed.
He chose not to share these concerns with Arthur to avoid causing him unnecessary panic, which could lead to problems during the process.
However, he never anticipated that a crowd would form around him, which added to the pressure, realizing that the situation could become more complicated, he decided to summon Legion.
As soon as Legion appeared, Alec didn€™t even look back before legion made his move.
Because Legion was connected to him, it could likely grasp Alec€™s intentions without a word.
Pressing his hand against the ground, Legion created a dome-like transparent sphere that enveloped Alec, effectively muffling the outside noise and allowing him to concentrate once again.
