The Golem Mage - Chapter 682
Chapter 682: Iron Body 6 Chapter 682: Iron Body 6 Brandon leaned against a nearby corner of the training room that was assigned to their team, eager to watch all the action unfold.
€œDon€™t waste any more time, merge!€ Alec urged Arthur, who was waiting in the middle with him.
Seeing the urgency in Alec€™s expression, Arthur wasted no time casting the merge spell, his silver body golem shattered into countless pieces before merging seamlessly with his body.
Alec observed, absentmindedly caressing his jaw, no matter how many times he witnessed the merge spell, it always reminded him of Iron Man transformation, one of his favourite movies from his past world.
However, his train of thought was abruptly interrupted when Arthur€™s transformation was complete.
As a massive surge of mana pressure radiated outward in all directions, with Arthur at the center.
It felt almost as if he were controlling the wind with his aura alone.
Brandon€™s lip twitched as he watched from the side, previously, before Alec helped Arthur correct his golem€™s evolution flaws, the merger had not provided him with such a significant boost; it had only increased his defence and allowed him to deliver more destructive strikes.
Brandon was well aware of this from their countless duels together, a habit Alec had ingrained in them both.
But now, after that surge of energy, even Brandon who wasn€™t directly affected could tell that Arthur€™s realm had been elevated from a low-tier 5 Mage to a high-tier 5 Mage just through the merge.
Such a boost created a significant gap in their realms, making him feel as if he couldn€™t compete with Arthur if they were to duel now, considering the additional advantages provided by the merging state only compounded that feeling.
Alec continued to observe Arthur, noting that he seemed taller, with the spirit weapon now strapped securely to his back.
Arthur resembled a silver knight, complete with a mask that had a Dead pool-like style, the only difference being that the mask was entirely silver as well.
€œI thought you were eager to see my moves!
You haven€™t even drawn your weapons yet?€ Arthur called out, shaking his neck as he slipped into a fighting stance and positioned his hands.
As he spoke, his voice seemed altered, it sounded deep, dangerous, and resonated with a vibrating intensity.
Even Arthur was taken aback, not expecting his voice to change so drastically in the merged state.
€œWho said anything about me being the one testing you?
If I did that, it would be bullying, today, you€™ll be playing with an old friend,€ Alec said, motioning for Legion to step forward.
Alec€™s words snapped Arthur out of the thrill of his new, cool form.
€˜ What the hell?
You call fighting you bullying, but what is this?
I€™d prefer your bullying any day!
Than fighting with Legion€™ Arthur thought, his expression shifting as panic set in.
He was even tempted to force an awkward smile and plead due to his experience with Legion who used to be a bully to them, but to his dismay, his mask betrayed him as no emotion was shown outward, the mask maintained its cold, unyielding demeanour.
Alec walked to the edge of the training hall and stood beside Brandon.
€œDon€™t go too hard on him, hold back a few punches, I just want to see how much of an asset he could be,€ Alec said, crossing his arms.
Brandon gave a wry smile, glancing at Arthur, who stood on the stage.
€˜ It really is just like old times, €˜Brandon thought for the Third time.
In an hour, realizing how nostalgic the atmosphere felt with the three of them together again.

Arthur, now fully aware his fate was sealed to fight Legion, decided he had nothing to lose and resolved to use his full strength.
€œAren€™t you going to bring out your flashy toys or weapons?€ Arthur asked, already in a fighting stance.
But Legion tilted his head slightly, the glow of his eyes piercing through the T-shaped visor of his helmet.
€œYou heard my liege, didn€™t you?
He asked me to go easy on you, and that€™s exactly what I€™ll do.
So, come at me!€ Legion replied, stretching two fingers outward while positioning his left hand behind him like a martial arts master.
The gesture infuriated Arthur.
It felt like Legion was looking down on him, despite them being in the same realm.
€œHere I come, then,€ Arthur announced, dashing forward.
€œHmm,€ Legion murmured, observing Arthur€™s approach, he noticed several openings in Arthur€™s stance and decided to exploit them, as he dashed forward as well.
His outstretched fingers glowed with a brilliant light, unleashing a spear-shaped Qi attack before he even closed the distance.
Arthur€™s eyes widened as the spear-shaped Qi tore through the air, targeting the nape of his neck with incredible speed.
Panicked, he raised his right hand, attempting to cast an earth wall spell.
A rumbling echoed through the training hall as a massive earth wall erupted from the ground straight to the ceilings, halting Legion€™s attack completely.
Arthur stood stunned, staring at the wall, he knew his own capabilities better, and it was clear this spell exceeded anything he could produce on his own.
At that moment, Alec€™s earlier words about the armour augmenting his elemental control and other abilities related to his elements came rushing back to him.
He hadn€™t fully tested the armour€™s capabilities, but the results were astonishing, not only had his casting speed been halved, but the activation of his spells was significantly faster.
The wall before him was sturdier and twice as large as anything he€™d managed to cast before, as he marvelled at his newfound prowess, Legion seized the moment.
Moving around the massive wall, he launched another spear-shaped Qi attack at close range.
Reacting instinctively, Arthur raised his left hand and cast a metal shield, and a round, shiny silver shield materialized just in time to intercept the attack by covering more than half of his upper body.
But the collision still sent him stumbling backward, the force catching him off guard.
Arthur stared at the shield, noting its silver hue instead of the usual golden glow of his metal element, it was another mutation brought on by the merge.
But despite the change in colour, he could feel that it was much stronger.
€œTsk, seems I€™ll have to handle this myself,€ Legion said, summoning a laser spear into his right hand and assuming a battle stance.
Arthur, having shaken off his curiosity and surprise, reached behind him and drew his sword.
He bent slightly, the tip of the blade angled upward toward Legion, his stance brimming with determination as he had finally gotten over the fear of Legion.
€œI just might be able to defeat you today!€ Arthur declared.
€œMaybe in your dreams!€ Legion shot back as both of them charged toward each other.
