The Golem Mage - Chapter 712
Chapter 712: Sand Serpent.
Chapter 712: Sand Serpent.
The Back to Sand spell was one of the simplest earth element spells, so basic that High rank earth elemental mages often dismissed it as useless, but for someone like Brandon, who had gained sand control after his Earth Manipulation reached the first stage, this spell was like a godsend gift from the heavens.
It allowed him to break down hardened earth surfaces and return them to their original form, sand.
In the next moment, Brandon had already gathered a swirling mass of sand around him, this was no ordinary sand, either, since he had extracted it from bricks with anti-repair properties, the sand itself seemed to have mutated.
It exuded an oppressive energy that coursed through its grains, enhancing its potential while Brandon focused on controlling it.
Lost in his manipulation of the sand, Brandon didn€™t notice the harpy-like winged demon closing in on him.
The creature took its chance seeing Brandon in a trance, as it unleashed its first attack, a sharp, piercing screech that condensed into a deadly sound wave racing toward Brandon.
But before the attack could reach him, a portion of the sand broke away from the swirling mass and formed a semi-circular shield.
The sound wave clashed with the sand shield, nearly destroying it, but it was enough to snap Brandon out of his trance, as he glanced at the remnants of the shield, its edges crumbling under the strain of the attack.
With a swift motion of his hand, Brandon sent a few strands of his Mana flying and activating the sand€™s anti-regenerative properties, repairing the damage and fortifying its structure.
At the same time, he began moving forward to confront the harpy, with the sand surging above his head like a living entity, ready to follow his every command as he prepared to counter the demon€™s next move.
If anyone glanced in Brandon€™s direction now, they would see a swirling cloud of sand hovering around him, following his every move like a loyal companion.
With a powerful punch, Brandon sent a massive sand fist lunging forward, which mirrored his motion.
The winged demon tried to cast a defensive spell, but the sand fist smashed into its elemental shield with such force that the shield cracked and shattered into fragments.
Brandon didn€™t stop there, as he closed the distance in an instant, he launched a relentless barrage of punches at the harpy.
With its formidable defence gone, the demon was reduced to little more than a helpless target.
Gripping the harpy€™s shoulder tightly with his left hand, Brandon rained down blows with his right, his fist encased in hardened sand.
And protruding from the sand-covered fist were five sharp spikes, each strike tearing through the demon€™s flesh.
Every punch left deep, gaping holes in the harpy€™s body, and his attack speed was so overwhelming that even the demon€™s regenerative abilities couldn€™t keep up with how fast it was incurring injuries.
Satisfied with his work, Brandon took a step back and stretched his hand behind him, preparing for the finishing blow.
[> Mid Tier Spell €“ Sand Serpent <]
At the spell€™s activation, the sand cloud above Brandon began to shift, sending strands spiralling downward.
The sand coalesced, slowly forming the outline of a towering serpent, even before the creature fully materialized, its aura radiated with the power of a high Tier 5 lifeform, oppressing everything around it.
The winged demon froze, its gaze locking onto the serpent€™s forming eyes.
Panic gripped it as it realized the deadly threat looming before it, desperate, the demon dove toward Brandon, its massive talons outstretched.
It felt that with one clean strike, it should be able to crush Brandon€™s skull and end both his life and the terrifying spell that was forming.
But just as the harpy closed in, a colossal sand tail lashed out, slamming into the demon€™s body with bone-crushing force.
The impact sent the winged demon flying backward, its talons failing to reach their target, gasping, it writhed in pain, as it felt its internal organs reeling from the devastating blow.
At that moment, the sand serpent€™s aura erupted outward, releasing the full weight of a peak Tier 5 presence.
The injured harpy trembled in fear, its body shrinking under the overwhelming pressure of the newly awakened serpent.

The harpy turned and desperately tried to flee back to the remaining four demons, realizing too late that Brandon, who it had underestimated as the weakest, was in fact a wolf in sheep€™s clothing.
After witnessing Brandon summon a lifeform of peak Tier 5 origin, it was enough to let it know that Brandon was far beyond anything that it could handle.
As it sped away, a massive tail coiled around its body, cutting off its retreat.
Before it could react, it realised that the sand serpent had caught up, wrapping itself tighter and tighter around the harpy.
Its constricting coils crushing the demon€™s body relentlessly, squeezing until the harpy€™s struggles ceased, and it succumbed to its fate.
With the harpy€™s death, its essence was absorbed by the serpent.
The massive creature opened its maw and began inhaling, pulling in the life-force of the fallen demon.
The harpy€™s body shrivelled, collapsing into itself until only bones remained, a grim reminder of the serpent€™s power.
As the sand serpent consumed the harpy€™s essence, it grew a little taller, its aura surging toward the brink of a breakthrough.
€œLet€™s hunt them all,€ Brandon declared with newfound confidence, as he could feel his mana reserves replenished.
The serpent had shared a portion of the absorbed essence with him, revitalizing his drained mana pool and leaving him feeling ready to do more.
Brandon grinned, appreciating this sand spell more and more.
Alec had been the one who taught him this particular spell, and though Brandon was unaware of how Alec acquired it, but the sand-based spell had come from the system store, and the system store dealt only in top quality things, which meant it cost Alec a lot.
And Alec fully intended to work Brandon to the bone to repay the debts he had incurred during his time in the Beast Forest.
The sand serpent returned back after Brandon€™s orders, as Brandon leapt onto its head swiftly, the serpent slithered through the air as if it were solid ground, its speed far surpassing what Brandon could manage on his own while flying.
It made up for Brandon€™s inexperience with mana floating, allowing him to traverse the battlefield with ease.
Meanwhile, Lucas was locked in a fierce battle, holding off two harpies with impressive skill.
Arthur, on the other hand, had his opponent in a brutal grip, his silver clawed fingers digging into the harpy€™s neck, halting its attempts to regenerate.
Arthur appeared far more comfortable fighting in the air, and this was due to his strong connection with his silver body golem that had a flying skill attached to it through evolution.
Compared to Brandon, he had mastered mana floating to a much higher degree, making moving effortlessly in aerial battle a breeze for him.
.
When he and Lucas dashed forward, he quickly suppressed the winged demon he had been fighting, while Lucas unleashed a powerful burst to eliminate one of the three winged demons facing him.
Despite the attacks from the other two, he absorbed the blows until he could take down one of them.
However, the remaining two had taken note of Lucas€™s move, growing more cautious and ensuring he wouldn€™t have the opportunity to strike like that again.
With that in mind, Arthur decided to watch from the side-lines and recover his Mana, after all, the line was still moving, and it meant they would continue to catch the attention of other demons so he wanted to be in top shape.
