Chapter 717: Inter Academy Arc Ending 1.
A bizarre and unexpected scene unfolded before the eyes of the High rank mages and above that were watching the battle, and even the once entertained demon monarch Azgoth, now found no joy in watching the ongoing battle.
All this was due to the fact that an ordinary Tier 5 mage, who is not even at the pinnacle of the realm allowed to fight, was wreaking havoc, under the Blood Moon rule invoked by Azgoth himself.
To Azgoth this mage was allowed to fight just to entertain him and yet, instead of being fodder for the demons, he was chasing down Tier 6 Demonkins with relentless determination.
Azgoth€™s amusement had soured, as this wasn€™t how it was supposed to go, the limited army he had brought was due to being restricted by the lack of unanimous support from the other demon monarchs, but now he was failing to deliver the chaos he€™d envisioned.
His plan relied on unleashing a group of Mid Tier elite Demonkins, who would wreak havoc while the High and Monarch Tier mages would be restrained by the blood moon spell, with the top mages restrained, this was supposed to be a walk in a park which would leave the Northern Kingdom Capital trembling in fear for what came next.
But Alec was ruining everything.
Bound by the same Blood Moon rules he€™d enforced, Azgoth could only watch from above, unable to intervene directly.
His frustration grew as Alec soared through the battlefield, pursuing High Tier 6 demons and bombarding them with attack talismans that conjured various demonic beasts which could cast only one spell, one spell that was enough to get rid of a High Tier 6 Demonkin instantly.
By now, Alec alone had been responsible for slaying over two hundred and fifty Demonkins, and the Hive Queen was the main culprit for the majority of that number, one of Alec€™s greatest golem, which is a devastating force in such chaotic group battles.
With the ability to spawn over twenty of her children at once, the Hive Queen wielded unmatched battlefield control.
Though her spawns were merely Tier 4, but their synchronization and ability to drain mana to replenish theory mother€™s birthing process allowed them to overwhelm even low Tier 6 Demonkins.
Those that were hard to eliminated either found their mana drained or faced the spawns€™ self-destruction blasts.
Even Azgoth couldn€™t help but feel astonishment at the Hive Queen€™s ruthless efficiency, her children sacrificed themselves without hesitation, detonating in coordinated strikes that ensured their enemies could not retaliate.
What appeared to be pitiful acts of desperation were, in truth, acts of unwavering loyalty and devotion.
And for a moment, Azgoth couldn€™t help but envy the Hive Queen, to command such children who would give their lives in self-sacrifice without unwavering hesitation was a power he wished he could harness for himself.
No matter how brutal or cruel the Demonkin soldiers were, they still possessed emotions, and with emotions came fear, especially the fear of death, and when things didn€™t go their way, even the most disciplined of them crumbled, disregarding orders.
Even races like zombies, known for their disregard for death, began to fear it once they gained intelligence, high-ranking undead, in particular, cherished their continued existence above all else, with only a few arch Lich carving true death.
.
Azgoth understood this well.
If he could create an army of demons willing to act with the unwavering sacrifice like the Arachnes the Hive Queen summoned, he would command a force feared across the gates of the second Dimension, regardless of the power or rank differences.
The Hive Queen had become a significant threat to the demons, yet eliminating her wasn€™t as simple as storming her position.
As Sword Saint and Magnito guarded her fiercely, slaughtering any Tier 5 Demonkin foolish enough to approach.
Even then large hordes of Tier 5 demons were being created to attempt overwhelming her, but they were decimated before getting close.
But finally a few Tier 5 demons passed through and were happy to get who they felt was the golem€™s army weak link, and for the first time since Alec had summoned her, the Hive Queen revealed her combat prowess.
Her skill with her blade-like legs was both precise and terrifying, as she impaled, severed, and slaughtered those unfortunate enough to reach her, leaving a trail of carnage in her wake.
For the Tier 5 Demonkins, the realization hit quickly that pursuing the Hive Queen was a death sentence.
As the relentless Arachnes made survival nearly impossible, those who tried to retreat after failing to kill her were hunted down by the swarms, meeting one of two horrific fates
Some were overwhelmed by explosions, as the Arachnes detonated themselves one after another until their prey was obliterated.
The explosions weren€™t strong enough to kill the demon in one blast as the Arachnes were Tier 4, making the ordeal even more terrifying and drawn-out.

The others fell victim to mana absorption, an agonizing process where over ten Arachnes would latch onto a victim, draining their mana while they were still alive, the sheer agony of having one€™s life force ripped away piece by piece was a torment no mage wished to endure.
The Demonkins quickly learned to steer clear of the Hive Queen, avoiding her at all costs their only hope was that her swarms wouldn€™t target them on the battlefield, to face her or her children was to invite a gruesome, inevitable death.
# An Hour Later
An hour was all it took for Alec, Dragov, the other academy captains, and the coordinators of the other Academy to lead the other Tier 6 mages to bring the blood moon battle to a decisive end.
Together, they vanquished the last sets of Mid-Tier Demonkins that had emerged from the space gate alongside Azgoth.
Due to the great loss, a deep frown marred Azgoth€™s face, the battle had concluded well before the duration of the blood moon ended, forcing the spell that he casted to dissolve prematurely, with the battle over, the High Tier and above rank mages, who had been restrained by the blood moon€™s oppressive energy, were finally free.
As the Crimson energy that binded Azgoth was released, his escape was immediately thwarted, from multiple directions, as the patriarchs of the Dragonmir Clan, the Blaze Clan, and the Zero Clan materialized before him, forming a blockade to prevent his retreat into the space gate above.
€œAzgoth, did you truly believe your forces could come here and you would prevail so easily against us?, did you ever stop to think that your minions would be slaughtered like flies, and you€™d find yourself cornered like this?€ The King of the Northern Kingdom stepped forward, his confidence restored now that the tide of battle had shifted in their favour.
As his golden-armoured knight stood protectively before him, ready to intercept should Azgoth retaliate.
Azgoth sneered, his crimson eyes gleaming with disdain.
€œYou incompetent king, you think this is a victory?
Fool, this was merely a taste of what€™s to come, when the other monarchs of the Abyss hear of my efforts, they will rally behind me, you may have killed a few Mid-Tier demons today, but in the Abyss, there are thousands more eager to take their place.€
Turning his gaze to Alec, Azgoth€™s expression darkened, and a dangerous glint appeared in his eyes.
€œYou are the main reason for my failure today, you€™re the variable I never calculated for and for that you€™ve caught my attention, boy.
I didn€™t see it before, but now the resemblance is unmistakable.
You truly are the son of that man, still, you€™re weak now, way too weak to matter, but know this your father owes me a debt.€
Azgoth reached up, his clawed hand brushing against the long scar running down his chest.
€œThis wound, this scar-was inflicted by the Flaming Wheels Flame spell, He marked me, but I survived.
When you reach the High Tier, I€™ll claim my revenge on you, for now, you€™re not even worth the effort.€
But as Azgoth finish, Alec stepped forward, his voice sharp and unyielding.
€œDon€™t lump me in with anyone else!€ Alec snapped, his voice brimming with anger.
€œSo what if he cut you down?
If you have grievances with him, go find him and settle them yourself, why should I bear the weight of his troubles?
If it€™s a fight you want, I€™ll gladly oblige, but don€™t you dare compare me to that man.
I€™m my own person.€
