The Golem Mage - Chapter 722
Chapter 722: After Its All Done.
Chapter 722: After Its All Done.
It had been a week since the blood moon battle, yet the Northern Kingdom€™s capital city still buzzed with talk of the events that had unfolded at the Grand Royal Arena.
Despite the king€™s decree forbidding any discussion of the matter, and despite the crowning of the Bloodline Academy as the winners of the inter-academy competition, the truth could not be buried, as too many witnesses had seen what transpired.
The entire kingdom had watched as their king used his authority to strip the War God Mage Academy of their rightful victory.
The move ensured that the Great Eight academies remained unchanged, or in simpler terms he made sure the Royal Mage Academy which is under the Royal Family€™s direct control, remained one of the primary beneficiaries of the kingdom€™s resources for academies.
Meanwhile, the War God Mage Academy that was dragged to the finals by Alec€™s miraculous efforts, was discarded, its former glory overshadowed by its inability to contend with the kingdom€™s political machinations.
Although the topic was officially banned, but it still thrived in secret.
In pubs and red-light districts, hushed voices recounted the feats of the €œuncrowned king,€ Alec, as they were unable to let the matter rest.
The events of that day left a lasting stain on their mind and on the Royal Family€™s reputation, one the king hoped would fade with time.

# Estonia City
The city of Estonia, however, had not recovered from the aftermath of the blood moon battle, while the enigmatic Darkbliss Patriarch joined the fray and managed to hold a Peak Tier 7 Zombie at bay, it also meant that his engagement with the Type 3 Zombie left him unable to assist his allies, and the city suffered greatly as five high rank mages fell during the battle.
There was some hope later on in the form of Alistair, who decided to join them using the first stage of his Bloodline Transformation, with him joining he was able to turn the tide a little to favour the human mages by holding his grounds against about five high rank zombie with blasting spells until the battle€™s conclusion.
Yet, the victory came at a steep cost, most of the low ranking mages had been wiped out, and the city gates were utterly destroyed.
Estonia City stood battered and broken, its defences shattered and its people mourning the losses incurred in what would forever be remembered as one of the darkest nights in its history.
If anyone were to look at the city gates now, they would see that it was a shadow of its former self.
Not only had the gates been nearly obliterated, but a massive hole gaped where the defences once stood firm.
The damage was catastrophic, and it was clear that it would take at least two weeks of relentless repairs from the best the city has just to restore the gates to a functional state.
The stakes were high for them as if the gates weren€™t repaired before the next blood moon, the consequences could be dire.
Many of the newer clans in the city that had joined the battle suffered devastating losses , and their hearts bled as they thought of the countless resources they had poured into building their forces, only to see them wiped out.
To make matters worse, the fallen members of their clans had turned into zombies, becoming even more ferocious enemies.
The memory of the battle left these clans simmering with anger and frustration, as if the mere thought could make them spit blood.
The only silver lining for these clans was their exemption from the next blood moon battle, giving them a small window of reprieve to rebuild.
However, the high rank mages were offered no such relief.
Unless critically injured, they were all mandated to reappear in the next battle, to placate them, promises of rewards were made by the city lord who had his hands tied from joining the battle himself.
The city lord, recognizing the dire nature of their situation, took drastic measures, and he began going to clans and recruiting Tier 7 mages who had been in hiding and even issued requests for any Peak Tier 7 mercenaries willing to fight for substantial rewards.
He had finally grasped the gravity of the threat they were up against, with the zombie army growing stronger than they came last time, he was sure their next assault is likely to be even more catastrophic, the city lord knew he had no choice but to put aside his pride to protect the city at all costs.

# Gordons Clan
Meanwhile, the outer gate of the Gordons Clan remained charred and damaged, though renovations had been underway before the blood moon battle, but they had been mysteriously halted, leaving the gate in its burned state, and whatever the reason behind this sudden stop, it was a secret known only to the Gordons Clan.
The Gordons Clan, which had locked itself away since the attack against them, now had an unexpected visitor, the City Lord himself.
Standing before the clan€™s charred, damaged gates, he took a moment to observe the grim scene.
The burned remnants of the entrance were a stark reminder of the devastation the clan had endured, and he knew that the request he was about to make would not be easily accepted.

Despite the challenges ahead, the City Lord was prepared to face the consequences of his decision, he was here to humble himself and plead for the Gordons Clan€™s support in the next blood moon battle , he was painfully aware that they suspected him of orchestrating the attack on their clan.
And the suspicions weren€™t baseless, as clearly he is the only mage to have secretly entered the Tier 8 Mage realm when he went to the capital, and his lack of involvement during the attack against the Gordons clan had raised eyebrows.
Furthermore, no city guards or guardians had appeared to defend the Gordons Clan, despite the assault appearing to come from an external force, these glaring inconsistencies had only fuelled even the public doubts on the city lord, thought the city lord believed they have not confronted him as they lacked concrete evidence to confront him directly.
Still, the City Lord believed his visit was justified.
As If the city fell, the Gordons Clan would suffer alongside everyone else, and he didn€™t think they would sit idly by and let everything crumble, but he also knew this bridge needed to be crossed carefully.
As he moved to step into the Gordons Clan€™s territory, the City Commander, Marcus, instinctively followed behind him, however, the City Lord raised a hand to stop him.
€œThis is a journey I must take alone, entering their territory with soldiers at my side would make things far more difficult.
I€™ve come to seek their support, not to intimidate them, wait here.
If something serious happens, I should still be able to escape,€ he said with a faint smile, trying to ease the tension.
With those words, the City Lord passed through the scorched gates, stepping into the rubble-strewn outer courtyard of the Gordons Clan, the air was thick with unease.
