The Golem Mage - Chapter 748
Chapter 748: Commander 3.
Chapter 748: Commander 3.
While the Tier 1 to Tier 5 mages were expecting a clash between Alec and the Tier 6 mages, nothing of the sort happened, instead, the Tier 6 mages walked toward Alec with smiles on their faces.
€œYoung master, my name is Gabriel.
I€™d just like to ask you a couple of questions, don€™t worry, it won€™t be much of a bother,€ said the Mid-Tier 6 mage, as he stepped forward.
Alec was taken aback, as he had expected them to react with outrage, perhaps even more aggressively than the Tier 5 mage he had just knocked out.
Yet, they were more composed, even reasonable, and since they were handling the situation calmly, he saw no reason to act out of place.
€œNo problem, ask away,€ Alec said as he moved toward them to meet them halfway.
As no matter how confident he was in his ability to defeat them, they were still his seniors.
As he looked at each of the Tier 6 mages, he noted that they were all past their youth, likely over thirty.
This meant their chances of advancing to the High Ranks were slim without any epiphany help or resources, yet, within the Gordons clan, such mages were considered geniuses, capable of shifting the balance of any mid-tier battle in Estonia City.
This only reinforced how far the clan still was from being recognized as a true powerhouse after he had seen how much stronger a High Tier clan is in the capital.
Alec now understood why his grandfather had always emphasized staying low-key, despite a few of them possessing extraordinary talent, it was because the overall clan strength was still lacking.
And except the next generation could bridge that gap, they would continue to restrain themselves.
But Alec felt he had the power to change that, with his pills, he could help the clan produce more Tier 6 mages, strengthening their mid-rank forces.
This, in turn, would ease the restraint the elders constantly placed on themselves, as if the clan had more power, they wouldn€™t need to remain passive in situations like the recent attack against them, especially when they suspected the city lord himself might be behind it.
And it was all because they knew that if they clashed with City Hall, the strongest powerhouse in the city due to its direct support from the kingdom, they risked losing a significant number of their mid- and low-rank descendants, even if they managed to kill the city lord, that was a loss the Gordons clan can not afford to bear.
Because unlike the Gordons clan, which only had six Tier 6 mages, including Draco, the City Hall boasted Tier 6 mages in double figures.
But that wasn€™t their only concern.
Within Estonia City, the Gordons clan already had numerous open and hidden enemies, all waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.
If the clan attacked City Hall, those enemies might take advantage of the chaos and strike from behind, claiming righteousness in their actions.
They could easily fabricate justifications for destroying the Gordons clan, and in the end, only the victors would have the power to shape history, while the losers would be forgotten.
€œYou claimed you would be the leader of all the tiers present here, which means you would command all six tiers.
Is that correct?€ Gabriel asked.
Alec responded with a simple nod.
€œAre the elders and the Patriarch aware of this?
Have they given their consent?€ Gabriel continued.
€œYes.
They are fully invested in my plans and have placed all of you under my responsibility,€ Alec replied.
€œWell, my last question, do you believe you can lead us to victory without facing a complete wipeout of the team?€ Gabriel asked, his gaze sharp and assessing.

€œYou have my word,€ Alec said firmly.
€œI promise that if anyone from here ever dies, it won€™t be in vain.
A hundred zombies will accompany them into the darkness.
You should know me by now-I don€™t jump into battles I€™m not certain of, and I have no intention of wasting the lives of our clan€™s mages just to satisfy anyone€™s expectations.
I€™m taking charge to make sure we aren€™t wiped out.€
As he spoke, Alec turned around, his hands spread wide, addressing every mage gathered there.
His voice carried a weight of authority, making it clear that his taking of leadership wasn€™t just about power, it was about survival of every mage present there.
€œI see,€ Gabriel said, placing his right hand on his chin as if deep in thought.
Then, with a firm motion, he crossed his right arm over his chest in salute and slightly bowed his head.
€œWell, let me be the first to say this, use me as you see fit, Commander of the Gordons clan,€ Gabriel declared, bringing a smile to Alec€™s face.
Alec studied him for a moment before asking,
€œIf you don€™t mind me asking, why are you making this so easy for me?
I expected you all to be the ones to challenge me the most when I requested full command from the elders.€
As he spoke, Alec noticed that the remaining four Tier 6 mages behind Gabriel followed suit, saluting him with no trace of reluctance on their faces, they had truly accepted his leadership.
€œIt€™s simple,€ Gabriel replied.
€œWhenever we fight in a blood moon war, we€™re always under Draco Gordons.
I€™m sure you know him, the Seventh Lord of the Gordons clan.
He constantly talks about you, young master, always saying that you will grow into a better battlefield leader than any Gordons before you, both tactically and strategically.€
€œYou€™re always the subject of his bragging,€ Gabriel continued.
€œAnd now, after hearing about some of your battlefield decisions, I understand why.
A young man with such diverse tactical insight is clearly a genius general, a blessing from the Gods to the Gordons clan.€
€œWhat I didn€™t expect,€ he added with a chuckle,
€œwas that he would send us all a message last night, instructing us not to make things difficult for you because, in his words, €˜you bribed him.€™ At first, we were confused, we all met to discuss it, trying to decipher what he truly meant.€
€œBut only after hearing your words just now, do we finally understand what he meant.€
The remaining four mages nodded in agreement, their expressions showing newfound respect.
Alec let out a quiet laugh, feeling both relief and surprise.
He had never expected Draco to think so highly of him, but now, it was clear that along with the pills Alec had sent to him, Draco had also been made aware of his intentions to lead all the Tier battlefield.
This led to Draco clearing a huge obstacle for him despite still being in seclusion.
€œWell, I€™m still grateful for that, and I€™ll make sure to repay this trust of yours, if everything is settled, why don€™t we get to work?€ Alec hollered, his voice filled with high spirits.
As he had managed to bring the entire Tier under his command in such a short time, without much effort, this only deepened his gratitude, and he made a mental note, that he owed Draco for this invaluable gift.
