The Golem Mage - Chapter 767
Chapter 767: First Move.
Chapter 767: First Move.
With about a thousand zombies charging toward the Gordons mages, the pressure on the city guards and the other clan mages eased slightly, and they could finally hold their ground and stop retreating in fear as before.
This brief respite allowed those in the backlines, including some of the Low rank Tier leaders among them to shift their attention toward the Gordons, who were about to face the incoming horde.
While some found joy in what they assumed to be the Gordons€™ misfortune, others watched with curiosity, eager to see how they would handle the situation.
A few, who had heard stories about the Gordons clan mages and their past exploits, anticipated another spectacular display of power.
And it wasn€™t long before the show began.
The moment the zombies reached the 80-meter mark, several potholes suddenly appeared, each lined with deadly earth spikes, as the rushing zombies fell into these pits, they were impaled, and unable to move.
However, being the resilient creatures they were, simply being pierced wasn€™t enough to kill them, they had to be struck in the brain to meet their final end.
Yet, the Gordons didn€™t seem to care that much, as the holes were large enough that, as more zombies rushed forward, they began piling up, trampling over their fallen companions.
In their blind frenzy, they crushed and killed each other, effectively reducing their own numbers.
By the time the pits were filled and the ground levelled again, over two hundred zombies had perished, one-fifth of their numbers lost before even reaching the Gordons.
€œAll low-rank mages, summon your golems!
All Tier 1 mages Conjure large rocks, ones your golems can throw at a fast and steady pace, as soon as your golem throws one, you should be forming the next immediately, just as I€™ve taught you,€ Alec commanded.
At his words, all 1,100 low-rank mages under Alec€™s command summoned their golems, preparing for the next phase of the battle.
Their numbers nearly doubled in an instant, within five seconds, every Low rank Gordons mage had successfully summoned at least one formidable Earth Golem or a special variant (for those who had chosen different evolution paths with Alec€™s help).
Each golem stood as powerful as its summoner (They were in the same realm as their owner), ready for battle.
The spectators watched in stunned silence, mouths agape, as the Gordons€™ numbers multiplied almost instantly.
But this was only the beginning.
Every Tier 1 mage had conjured a massive stone for their Golem, as they gripped it firmly in their hands.
€œTier 1 mages, take position!
Choose a target and have your golems set their aim!€ the sub Tier 1 Mage leader commanded.
The Tier 1 mages relayed the mental orders, and their golems stepped forward to the very edge of the wide hilltop, towering over the battlefield.
With enormous rocks in hand, they looked down upon the incoming zombies, now within fifty meters and closing in fast.
Once everything was set, the sub Tier 1 Mage leader turned toward Alec, who remained mounted at the center of the formation, Alec gave a single nod.
€œFire!€
The command was relayed instantly, and six hundred Tier 1 golems launched their massive rocks in perfect unison.
A deep, resonant swirl filled the air, a sound not overly loud but impossible to ignore, announcing the impending destruction.
The speed of the projectiles sent chills down the spines of those watching, the sheer force of six hundred massive stones, hurled from powerful golems on high ground, felt less like an attack and more like an avalanche crashing down upon the enemy.
Bang!
The impact was immediate and devastating, the battlefield was painted in blood as over five hundred zombies were obliterated on the spot, their bodies crushed under the sheer force of the barrage, those who somehow survived were left broken, crippled, and entirely incapable of continuing the fight.

It was the single most gruesome, blood-soaked moment of the battle this battlefield had seen so far.
Large chunks of flesh and bone were scattered across the battlefield, the zombies€™ bodies mangled beyond recognition after being struck by the first salvo of the golems€™ attack.
€œStop the momentum of the rocks heading toward the human mages, if you can redirect it towards the zombies, we must make sure our human mages are not affected and in the process accelerate those still rolling toward the zombies,€ Alec commanded to another set of mages.
Immediately, Gabriel and the other four Tier 6 mages levitated into the air, stretching their hands forward to manipulate the massive projectiles still wreaking havoc across the battlefield.
Many mages had just witnessed the devastating force of those rolling boulders, and now, they were about to see something even more astonishing.
Stopping the momentum of such fast-moving stones was significantly harder than accelerating them, if it had been just a few, it wouldn€™t have been an issue for the Tier 6 mages, but six hundred enormous rocks, having gained speed after smashing through bodies and rolling down the hill, were no simple task to control.
Yet, for these Tier 6 mages, who had endured Alec€™s gruelling training, this challenge felt almost merciful compared to what they had been put through before.
Without hesitation, they manipulated their earth affinity to construct slanted earthen barriers, not too tall, just enough to guide the trajectory of the rolling boulders and prevent them from veering off course to where the humans stood.
And just like that, the watching high-rank mages in the air bore witness to an unbelievable sight, the redirected boulders slammed into the Low Tier zombie horde, crushing everything in their path, and another dozens of zombies were obliterated instantly, while countless others were left crippled, struggling to move or even stand.
Shock rippled through the ranks of the human mages who had a clear view of the battlefield.
The Low Tier battle had been an absolute disaster zone for the humans, because despite their relentless efforts, their casualties far outweighed their kills, after that one blunder while retreating, yet, in a single, effortless maneuver, Alec had wiped out 700 zombies.
And he and his forces had done so without breaking a sweat.
For the record his forces had yet to properly engage the zombies, and already, his tactics had shifted the tide of battle.
As many of the surviving zombies that had headed for them were now crawling, incapable of putting up a fight.
Meanwhile, the rest of the horde continued struggling to advance, still unable to breach the 59-meter mark.
At that moment, they truly grasped the sheer dominance Alec and the Gordons commanded, standing alone without the support of any other clan, yet exerting overwhelming control over the battlefield.
€œFire!€
Just as the spectators were still processing the devastation from the first salvo, Alec€™s voice rang out again, cold and commanding, to them, it sounded almost demonic, a signal of inevitable destruction.
There was no need for further instructions from the sub Tier 1 leader as he felt he didn€™t even have to speak.
Every Tier 1 Mage had already heard Alec€™s command loud and clear, and in perfect synchronization, they issued mental orders to their golems.
With their second round of massive rocks already conjured and ready, the golems immediately launched another six hundred projectiles into the air.
The mages watching could only stare in awe as the enormous boulders hurtled toward the remnants of the once-formidable one-thousand-strong zombie horde, now reduced to a mere three hundred battered and barely-standing zombies.
