The Golem Mage - Chapter 774
Chapter 774: Cybernetic Golem Squad 3.
Legion had made that remark because he knew exactly what was about to happen, the Cryo Launcher wasn’t just an ice-based weapon, it also had a wide area of effect, meaning anyone caught in its splash radius would be affected.
And the Strength-Type zombie, in its arrogance, had foolishly attempted to swat the shells away instead of dodging them.
But even if it had tried to evade, it wouldn’t have mattered, Legion understood the weapon’s mechanics, as long as they were within range, they would still suffer the blast.
BOOM!
A muffled explosion rang out as icy shockwaves spread in all directions, engulfing all four Strength-Type zombies, instantly, their movement slowed significantly, with their limbs feeling heavier as a thin layer of frost began creeping over their bodies.
Unlike most debilitating effects, which typically just restricted movement, the Cryo Launcher was just as destructive as any grenade launcher. The only reason these mutated zombies were still standing was their insanely durable skin and natural resistance to damage.
Even so, after the first blast of three shells, their overall mobility had dropped considerably, while they weren’t completely immobilized, their movements had slowed just enough to create an opening.
Number Four and or any of the other Cybernetic Golems could actually see an icy status bar hovering above the zombies’ heads.
However, it was only half-full, meaning the stasis effect hadn’t fully kicked in yet, the mutant zombies could still move, just not as freely as before.
But that was about to change.
Number Five still had six rounds left in his magazine, and with each shot firing three shells, he had enough firepower to completely freeze them in place, without hesitation, he raised his massive Cryo Launcher, gripping it firmly with his left hand, and took aim.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The loud, mechanical thud of the launcher firing echoed across the battlefield.
But this time, he wasn’t alone.
Standing beside him, Number Six had also raised his own Cryo Launcher 16, an even more advanced model than Number Five’s.
At this moment, neither of them was concerned about their weapon differences, their only focus was on one thing, emptying their magazines on the frozen, struggling zombies.
The skies above the low-rank battlefield were soon painted with icy fog, as the relentless barrage of Cryo shells and the muffled explosions overwhelmed the battlefield, the sheer force of the bombardment was beyond what low ranks could withstand, but the low-rank zombies, driven by their limited intelligence and blind loyalty, still threw themselves into certain death by icy shockwave, all in a desperate attempt to save the Type 1 Mental Zombie.
If it had been any other race, the low-rank mages would have long since retreated, fully aware that even a shockwave from the mid-rank battlefield could instantly obliterate them, but these zombies didn’t have the same instinct for survival.
Only the Mental-Type zombies, along with the more intelligent Mid rank mutants, had developed a true fear of death, a realization that their next death would be final.
This was exactly what was happening to the Type 1 Mental Zombie that had been captured, as it watched its kind fall apart, it could see its own demise unfolding soon before its eyes.
By the time Number 5 and 6 had emptied their magazines, they could already tell that two of the Strength-Type zombies had been completely wiped out.
The Ogre Zombie, once the most intimidating of them all was gone, along with its loyal follower.
Their bodies had been completely vaporized, leaving behind nothing but a lingering icy mist mixed with the faint scent of blood.
As for the two remaining Strength-Type zombies, they hadn’t fared much better, though they had been positioned further back, they had still been caught in the blast radius of the Cryo Launcher’s explosions.
And the stasis effect had fully taken hold.
Their bodies began to plummet at an incredible speed, yet no matter how much they struggled, their movements were agonizingly slow, even slower than a tortoise, the stasis lag effect had completely disrupted their motor control, leaving them unable to correct their trajectory mid-air.
BANG!
Both zombies crashed into the battlefield below, landing directly in the midst of the already dwindling low-rank zombie horde.
Their impact created a massive crater, sending a shockwave that ripped apart the surrounding zombies, effectively thinning their ranks even further.
Alec swung his arm and ordered the Low rank Gordons’ mages at the front to immediately form a shield formation, abandoning all attacks in favour of stacking a two-layered shield barrier, their only hope of surviving the shockwave from the Tier 6 battle.

Luckily, they had been gradually eliminating zombies from a distance and fighting on the outskirts, so when the shockwave finally hit, they weren’t too severely affected.
The other city low rank forces, however, weren’t as fortunate, some of their low-rank teams had ventured too deep into the zombie horde, hoping to snatch some easy merit after witnessing the Gordons breaking the zombies’ morale.
But instead of victory, they found themselves blown away by the shockwave, a truly humiliating moment for any mage.
Meanwhile, Number 5 and 6 stood firm, their mechanical eyes locked onto the dust cloud, patiently waiting for their enemies to reappear.
They knew better than to be fooled by the Tier 6 zombies’ attempt to mask their presence.
With their heat vision, it was easy to detect that the two Strength-Type zombies were still alive, unlike the Speed-Type, these ones weren’t exactly stealthy, but that didn’t mean they wouldn’t fight back.
They had no intention of being outdone by a pair of Tier 5 cybernetic golems.
Clap!
A sharp sound rang out as one of the Strength-Type zombies slammed its hands together, forcefully blowing the dust away to clear their visibility .
At the same time, the other zombie had already taken a crouching stance, its muscles coiling like a compressed spring.
And the moment the dust fully cleared—BOOM!
The ground shattered beneath its feet as it launched itself forward, its sheer strength sending out rippling shockwaves that expanded the crater left behind from their earlier fall.
It happened in the blink of an eye.
The Strength-Type zombie appeared right in front of Number 5 and 6, moving with explosive speed far greater than expected, due to the stasis effect reducing slightly.
Its muscles tensed, its fist clenched, and then—
BANG!
A devastating punch crashed straight into Number 5’s shield, causing it to flicker violently as it rapidly lost stability, while I wiped its hand towards 6 using wind currents to push him further away.
But the zombie wasn’t done yet.
Before Number 5 could even react, the undead brute suddenly lunged forward, its rotting jaws opening wide—
And then it chomped down toward Number 5’s neck.
It all happened in a split second, the zombie’s teeth clamped down on the flickering shield, and in an instant, the last bit of its energy drained away, causing it to vanish completely.
Now, Number 5 stood exposed, completely vulnerable to the zombie’s next attack.
But what the zombie brute failed to realize was that its relentless assault on the shield had given Number 5 just enough time to react.
The moment the shield collapsed, Number 5 thrust his right hand upward, aiming for the zombie’s lower jaw.
In that instant, a laser spear materialized in his grip, its shaft expanding rapidly with each passing second.
With the zombie too close to dodge, its extra-durable skin was instantly pierced, the burning energy of the spear searing through flesh and bone slowly.
