The Golem Mage - Chapter 776
Chapter 776: Premonition.
Despite the fact that there were only one hundred and twenty-six Mid-Rank Gordon Mages, the moment they began their march toward the Mid-Rank battlefield,
All eyes turned to them.
There was something about their presence, an expectation, a commanding aura, a weight that made everyone watching believe they could pull off another miracle, just like they had in the Low-Rank battlefield.
Even with their small numbers, they still gave out an unstoppable aura.
—
The moment Bryan Lanzt saw the Gordon Mages advancing, he couldn’t help but smile, with a swift motion, he swiped his hand forward, unleashing a barrage of wind blades that sent a Tier 5 zombie which had mixed into the Tier 4 ranks flying backward.
No clan or mage force that had participated in the previous battle had ever fully explained what had happened, so many had been in the dark before this battle began on what to expect .
For one, the Lanzt Clan Mages were starting to regret their decision to join the Blood Moon War in the hopes of earning war merit.
But now?
Now that Bryan Lanzt saw the Gordon Mages entering the fray, he felt reassured something deep inside him told him that things were about to change and for the better.
That was the kind of confidence that came from fighting alongside Alec.
He and his fellow Tier 4 clansmen were exhausted, even though they had tried their best to keep their distance from the middle of the battlefield, the zombies had still reached them, and they had suffered a few losses.
But each fallen mage was a painful blow to their clan, because unlike some of the larger clans, the Lanzt family was still a growing family, only four generations old.
And every Mid-Rank Mage they lost wasn’t just a casualty, they were a massive investment of resources, training, and years of dedication.
If they didn’t earn enough war merit in this battle, then all those sacrifices would be for nothing, because instead of growing stronger, their clan would be weakened even further by this war.
And that?
That was a devastating reality they couldn’t afford to face.

“Listen to me. Initiate the High-Rank battle and have one of your most trusted minions slip away to kill that boy. I want him dead. I don’t care how you do it, just make him disappear from this city forces. It’s a shame I have to send a Tier 7 zombie to finish off a mere Tier 5 human pest.” The Type 3 Mental Zombie spoke with a cold, calculated tone, his glowing eyes narrowing as he gave the order.
“But it’s clear even Tier 6 zombies might not be enough to kill him, considering he commands that unusually strong Tier 6 golem. Don’t fail me.” His words were directed at a Peak Tier 7 Strength-Type Zombie standing beside him, who simply nodded in response.
“Fly with me. We take down the human mages.”
The Type 3 Strength Zombie took charge, leading a force of twenty-six Tier 7 zombies toward the High-Rank human mages who hovered on the opposite side of the battlefield, their attention still locked onto the Mid-Rank battle below.
But that focus shattered instantly the moment they felt the surge of mana radiating from the incoming Tier 7 zombies.
Their claws were outstretched, their postures battle-ready, showing that the high rank fight was about to begin.
—
“Why are the zombies moving now? It’s still too early in the fight, this shouldn’t be happening yet!”
A certain High-Rank Mage voiced his alarm, but his words meant nothing, as the zombies weren’t going to pause the battle just because it wasn’t the “right time” for the humans.
Some of the mages looked shaken, caught off guard by the sudden charge.
But others?
They were already in position, ready for battle, among them were the Gordon Elders.

“This feels off,” The Fourth elder muttered, his eyes narrowing.
“From what I learned, even in the last battle, the zombies never initiated combat this early.” The Fourth Elder crossed his arms, his gaze drifting toward Alec.
That uneasy feeling in his gut only grew stronger as he put the pieces together, the High-Rank zombies had chosen this exact moment to strike, right after Alec set his sights on the Mid-Rank battlefield, it was too much of a coincidence to ignore.
“Do you think the kids are in trouble?” the Third Elder asked as he summoned his Golden Golem.
Though it was still in the Tier 6 realm and didn’t match its master’s realm, but whenever the Third Elder merged with it, his strength surged all the way to the Mid-Tier 7 Mage realm, and right now he needed every power-up he could get against the overwhelming number of enemies before them.
“Yeah, I have that feeling, so be ready to move toward Alec if anything starts going wrong.” The Fourth Elder admitted.
The Golden Golem surrounding the Third Elder broke down into countless shimmering pieces, swirling around him in a brilliant display of magic before fully assembling into golden armour that encased his body.
In his hands, he gripped his Naginata, the golden shaft firm in his grasp, as its short blade gleaming with bright light.
“No problem!” the Third Elder responded before dashing forward, keeping pace with the rest of the High-Rank Mages as they surged toward the zombies at the frontlines.
—
It was almost ironic.
Despite being severely outnumbered, despite knowing that some among them would have to face multiple opponents, some even facing certain death but none of them hesitated.
The fear of death might have lingered in the backs of their minds, but the moment they had intentions to clash weapons with the zombies, they threw those thoughts aside for a while.
This was the reality of the Blood moon war.
The Second-Dimension races had always outnumbered humanity, the Blood Moon Wars had always been fought with a handicap and the humans had never once whined about it.
If a comrade fell in battle, they believed the only way to honour them in the afterlife was to slaughter as many Second-Dimensional invaders as possible, and if they could kill the very enemy that took their fallen comrade’s life?
Even better.
–
Alec looked up and saw the High-Rank battlefield in motion, in an instant, he analysed the situation and realized that things were about to turn dangerous, especially for him, and he didn’t want to drag the Gordon Mid-Rank Mages into it.
He had trained them for two weeks, and despite the short time he had spent with a few of them, he was certain of one thing, that they were the future of the clan.
So, in that moment, he made the only decision he felt was right.
