The Golem Mage - Chapter 792
Chapter 792: Beatdown 2.
[> High Tier Skill – Phase <]
The voice of the Tier 7 mutated zombie rang out, just as it was on the verge of receiving a devastating attack from three different angles, its dark green eyes gleamed with an eerie brilliance, and in the next instant, its entire body twitched violently.
Alec watched in shock as the mutated zombie’s form blurred, its body vibrating at such an unnatural speed that it seemed to slip through the hundreds of web-like strings restraining it, and in a split second, it was free.
Three deafening bangs echoed through the battlefield.
A leg, a bladed arm, and a claw lashed out in three different directions, the next thing Alec knew, both he, Oni, and Tempest Butcher were sent hurtling backward from the location they came from, slamming into the ground hard.
Alec’s injury was the worst, the zombie’s bladed hand had carved a deep gash across his chest, leaving behind traces of toxic green flames that immediately sought to burrow into his wound.
But before they could spread, the black flames coating Alec’s body surged forward, gnawing at the green fire, consuming it completely and preventing infection from entering the injury.
Still, the sheer force of the Tier 7 agility zombie’s attack had been overwhelming. Butcher lay motionless, his chest caved in, and the lightning that once cloaked his black stone body flickering weakly, even Oni had been sent flying far into the distance, making Alec unable to detect his current state due to the silence over their connection.
Alec coughed, spitting out blood as he struggled to push himself off the ground, every fiber of his body ached from the impact, gritting his teeth, he raised his head, following the gaze of the agility-type zombie.
It was no longer focused on him.
Instead, it was staring directly at Hive Queen, who stood just below, her hands still glowing with shimmering, nearly invisible strings, as she stared back.
The zombie’s right bladed arm was already drawn back, positioned high above its opposite shoulder. Its intent was obvious, the Hive Queen was next, though she was only a Tier 5, but she had successfully restricted its movements, however briefly, but for that, the Tier 7 zombie had marked her as a great threat.
And all of this had been made possible for a Tier 5 Golem like the Hive Queen because her web entanglement was the full coordination and support of all twenty of her spawns, making it far more powerful than any typical Tier 5 attack.
It functioned almost like a carefully designed like a killing array formation, capable of slaughtering enemies in droves, as any mage below Tier 6 who was unfortunate enough to get caught in it would have been instantly shredded.
Even a Tier 6 opponent would have been completely bound, the razor-sharp threads slicing deeper into their skin with every movement, but this was no ordinary enemy, this was a Type 3 zombie, a High-Rank lifeform.
Even Alec had never expected taking one down to be easy, but he hadn’t anticipated that it would have a skill technique powerful enough to break free so quickly.
He had always known that Hive Queen’s array wouldn’t be able to hold a Type 3 zombie indefinitely, but that was never the plan.
All he needed was a few seconds, just enough time for him and his two trusty golems to strike and end it.
But even the most carefully laid plans can fall apart in execution, that was why it was always crucial to improvise.
“Hunter, it’s on you now. Start the next move.”
Alec gritted his teeth and pushed himself up, blood dripping from his wound as he issued the command, the remaining golems, which had spread out earlier to not disrupt the Hive Queen’s trapping array of string webs, now rushed forward to intercept.
Meanwhile, the agility-type zombie swung its right bladed arm, now blazing once more with green flames, in a swift, lethal slash toward Hive Queen.
Sling!
A sharp metallic clang echoed across the battlefield, the agility-type zombie had made its move, but so had Hunter.
Its left arm shot forward, launching its hook through the air at blinding speed.
Hunter’s hook shot forward, clamping onto the agility-type zombie’s bladed arm just as it was about to strike, the moment the hook latched on, something strange happened, aside from a few stray wisps of green flames that had already flickered out, the rest of the flames brewing on the zombie’s arm simply vanished.
As a result, only a small fraction of the attack was unleashed toward Hive Queen, but even a mere fragment of a Tier 7 lifeform’s attack was nothing to take lightly.
Alec’s golems, however, were not ordinary constructs, they weren’t forged from common materials but crafted from the finest resources provided by the system itself, and their resilience far surpassed that of any normal Tier 5 creature, allowing them to endure where others would be obliterated.
As the toxic green flames rushed toward Hive Queen, she reacted instantly, as her eight bladed legs scuttled out of the way with remarkable speed, but two of her armoured spider spawns appeared before her, blocking the attack so she could have more time to escape its range.
These two spiders raised their thick, metal-plated abdomens rising like shields, braced for impact.

Though they were merely Peak Tier 4 lifeforms, they knew the truth: the moment that toxic fire touched them, they were as good as dead.
Yet, without hesitation, they stood their ground, unwavering in their purpose.
They lived for their Queen.
They fought for their Queen.
And if they had to die for their Queen which was also their mother, then so be it.
The remnants of the agility-type zombie’s attack finally landed.
There was no massive explosion, no blinding flash, just the merciless bite of the scorching toxic flames as they burned straight through their bodies as it continued on its path towards the Hive Queen, their agonized screams echoed as the lingering specks of green fire continued to corrode them, spreading its destruction beyond the initial burns.
