The Golem Mage - Chapter 795
Chapter 795: Before The Chills 2.
“Ahhhhh!”
The Type 3 Mental Zombie’s enraged scream was loud enough to jolt the still-dazed mages watching back to reality, they had all just witnessed Alec Gordon slay a Tier 7 mutated zombie, a feat that seemed almost unbelievable even though they had just witnessed it.
Alec was still in the Tier 5 Mage Realm, yet he had just defeated a high-rank lifeform, even with the help of his golems, many onlookers struggled to comprehend what had just happened.
“That guy… he—he actually slayed a Tier 7 mutated zombie, that’s a massive loss to the zombie army’s high-rank battle force…” Bryan Lanzt muttered, catching his breath now that he had successfully been able to position the Lanzt clan Tier 4 mages behind the Mid-Rank Gordon Mages, which means he could finally take a moment to process Alec’s battle.
A few feet away, Alec pushed himself to his feet, wiping away the blood that still trickled from the corner of his mouth.
But he didn’t care, as he could feel a refreshing sensation surging through his body as his system notifications beeped urgently in his mind, but he ignored them for now.
He had just slain a high rank enemy, and the thrill of victory filled his lungs, since the beginning of the battle, the Type 3 Mental Zombie had only screamed twice in frustration, and both times were because of Alec, and it was seething now.
Alec raised his bloodstained hand to the sky and roared with Mana infused into his lungs:
“AHHHHH! KILL THEM ALL, GORDONS!”
His voice thundered across the battlefield, shaking the very air.
“YES! KILL THEM ALL!”
Brandon, seeing the Gordons clan Mages’ morale surging, wasted no time raising his own hand, rallying the Tier 5 Mages, who now surged forward with renewed energy, their battle cries echoing through the battlefield.
“Follow behind the Tier 5 Mages!”
Kelvin wasn’t about to be left behind, with his own battle cry, he rallied the Tier 4 Mages of the Gordon Clan. And, funny enough, the Lanzt clan Tier 4 mages, without hesitation, latched onto the momentum, following the same orders as if they had been part of the plan all along.
To Bryan, in such a battlefield as chaotic as this, where it was about to turn into an all-out free-for-all, he felt there was no safer place than behind the Gordons.
Gabriel, who had been waiting alongside his four colleagues for a chance to fight, levitating just above the Gordons Mage, exchanged a glance with Alec, their eyes said it all, they were itching for battle, tired of babysitting the Tier 5 Mage group.
Alec understood their frustration, the Tier 5 Mages had already performed beyond even his expectations under Brandon, and it was time for Gabriel and the others to join the real fight.
In response, Alec raised his left hand, pointing toward a small group of Tier 6 zombies clashing with Tier 6 mages from the city.
The human mages were outnumbered and barely holding on, and if they didn’t receive backup soon, they risked either death or infection.
Alec had no intention of letting the Gordons’ limited number of Tier 6 mages to dwindle, so he strategically chose a battlefield where reinforcements for the zombies wouldn’t arrive immediately.
This way, Gabriel and his group would have enough time to engage and retreat if things turned south.
“What’s next for us, Master?” Butcher asked, surveying the area, the battlefield around them was completely levelled, the aftermath of the explosions and shockwaves from their battle against the Tier 7 zombie.
Just thinking about it gave Alec a clearer perspective, he now understood why battlefields were always divided the way they were, as if Tier 7s fought too close to the Mid-rank battles, the sheer force of their clashes would wipe out countless Tier 4s, while unlucky Tier 5s could suffer fatal injuries.
Even those who survived would carry wounds ranging from minor to severe, only the Tier 6s could withstand the shockwaves of a Tier 7 fight, escaping with, at worst, light injuries if the attack was not directed at them, reasons why he was still bleeding until the system energy started to heal him.
Alec realized that, for the moment, no zombies were looking in his direction, nor had another assassin zombie been sent after him, this led him to suspect that the Type 3 Mental Zombie had reconsidered its strategy, likely re-evaluating its losses after relentlessly targeting him.
However, that didn’t mean Alec would simply let it go after its repeated attempts on his life.
But first, there was something else he needed to check, using his mind, he accessed his system interface.
And as expected, old notifications from his earlier battle popped up first:

Alec quickly swiped away the old notifications and opened his status tab, even as he stood there, he could feel the system injecting a surge of energy into his body, a direct result of his levelling-up activities.

One thing immediately stood out to Alec, his Devourer Bloodline capacity had increased by one, this puzzled him.
He had expected it to expand when he first entered the Tier 5 Mage Realm, yet something had apparently delayed the process.
Regardless, it had now sorted itself out, bringing him back to where he expected to be, but that wasn’t the only noteworthy change.
His Scythe Techniques had finally appeared among his displayed skills, since Alec had a wide range of skills, many of which came from his golems, the system only displayed the ones he used frequently and it deemed important.
And the fact that Scythe Techniques had now surfaced meant that even the system had recognized it as one of his primary combat skills.
Scrolling down a little further, Alec saw something that made him grin, although he had spent a significant portion of his system points when getting his clan mages ready, but due to the sheer scale of the battlefield, combined with double experience gains and the shares he received from his golems and clan mages kills, his system points balance had skyrocketed from 3.5 million to 5.6 million, just shy of 6 million.
He wasn’t expecting to push his balance back to the 7.5 million range he once had, but at least his investments had paid off handsomely.
“Finally, I can push one of you past the 300 mark,” Alec murmured, eyeing his available points with satisfaction.
