The Golem Mage - Chapter 796
Chapter 796: Before The Chills 3.
Alec already knew what he wanted, he had been saving up every available point he could get, never once bothering to use them, as he was waiting for the right moment, the moment he could push one of his three main stats past the 300 mark.
Now, with enough points at his disposal, he had made his choice, and that was agility.
“I already know what we’ll do! You all will reinforce the Tier 5 army of the Gordons clan, along the way, the rest of Legion and Titan Squad will join up with you,” Alec commanded, turning to Butcher, who had questioned him earlier.
“What about you, Master? What will you do?” Hunter asked.
“Me? I’ll be hunting down Tier 7 mutated zombies with Titan and Legion by my side, if I can take out the top generals and make that Type 3 mental zombie even more terrified, why waste time going after Tier 6 soldiers?” Alec replied as he instructed the system to allocate 53 points into his agility stat.

“And here I was thinking I was used to this pain,” he muttered through clenched teeth, letting the searing sensation course through his body.

His muscles twitched violently before the discomfort finally began to subside slowly.

While Alec endured the agony of pushing his agility beyond the 300 mark, the mages observing the battle from within the Estonia City could hardly contain themselves.
Especially the city lord and those who had downplayed the impact the Gordons clan would have on the battlefield if they chose to fight.
While other Tier 7 human mages struggled to take down their mutated zombie opponents, here was Alec, a mere Tier 5 Mage doing just that. Though some Tier 7 mages were facing two enemies at once, but Alec’s actions had completely overshadowed their efforts in a single, decisive moment.
The Peak Tier 7 Agility-type zombie, which had been locked in battle with the Gordons clan’s fourth elder, suddenly paused.
It turned toward Alec’s position, its sharp gaze scanning the battlefield, only to realize that the subordinate it had sent to kill Alec was now gone.
That was one of its most talented agility-type zombies.
Rage flickered across its monstrous face, as it tried to take off, intending to fly straight for Alec and exact vengeance, but the moment it moved, the bottom of the fourth elder’s spear slammed into its chin with crushing force.
The impact snapped the zombie out of its fury, forcing it to acknowledge the battle it was still caught in.
“Arrgh!” it roared in frustration, attempting to bypass the fourth elder, but to no avail, the two were evenly matched in strength, and as long as the elder was determined to hold it down, there was no escaping this fight.
The zombie groaned, its gaze flicking toward the wooden golem hovering beside the fourth elder, that damn golem was the reason it had been unable to gain an advantage.
It prided itself on being one of the few mutated zombies that carried a vast amount of the zombie virus in the Tier 7 realm, but no matter how many times it attempted to infect the elder, hoping to weaken his battle prowess, the wooden golem always countered it.
With every attempt to infuse the air with zombie virus, the golem cast a spell called Verdant Breath, neutralizing the airborne toxins before they could spread.
And if the fourth elder did sustain a scratch, the golem would immediately activate Life Vine Seal, causing a green sigil to appear on his body that would absorb the virus festering within the wound, refining it into harmless mana that the Fourth elder could use to recover.
However, once the seal completed its function, it would disappear, meaning the golem had to remain close to its master at all times.
For the first time, the wooden golem had not taken its usual base form. Instead, it had assumed a humanoid shape, one resembling a teen girl , elegantly carved from the lightest brown wood.
If Alec had seen this, he might have been intrigued, the fourth elder’s golem acted almost like a magic companion, occasionally casting entanglement spells, using vines to restrict the agility-type zombie’s escape routes.
Though the zombie was too fast to be directly caught by the much slower vines, but the widespread casting of the spell forced it to limit its movements to certain locations, and if it wasn’t careful, it would get tangled in the vines, giving an opening the fourth elder could exploit to land a critical injury.
Now, even the Peak Tier 7 agility-type zombie was beginning to regret its choices, it hadn’t expected that its plan, to hold down the mage and keep him occupied would completely backfire, turning it into the one struggling to escape.
The only real way to infect the mage was to sink its claws deep into his body, injecting him with enough virus to weaken him rapidly more than what the sigil could handle, but the fourth elder wasn’t just any opponent.
With his spear superior reach and deadly mastery, he kept the zombie at bay, even with its superior agility, the only thing it had managed to do was inflict a few shallow scratches, scratches that had already been neutralized.
What pissed it off the most was seeing the mage before it casually pop a healing spell into his mouth, the moment he did, his torn wounds began closing, slowly but surely.
“Haaa, why won’t you just die?!” the agility-type zombie finally snapped, losing its composure. It lunged at the fourth elder in a blind fury, but the elder parried the strike with ease, before countering with a swift thrust.
The zombie barely managed to tilt its head at the last second, but not before the spear’s tip grazed its cheek, slicing through flesh and leaving a smear of blackened blood on the blade of the spear head.
—
Meanwhile, Alec, having completed the full process of his agility enhancement, finally stood up, a wide grin spread across his face as he tapped the Hive Queen’s carapace armour.
Around him, the golems that had shielded him while he was vulnerable cleared away, making space for their master once more.
“Go, implement the plan!” Alec commanded.
Just moments after he spoke, a loud bang erupted beneath his feet, the ground where he had just stood caved in, leaving behind a deep indentation, as tiny sparks of purple light flickered within the crater, clear traces of gravity manipulation.
