The Golem Mage - Chapter 799
Chapter 799: Correction.
NOTE: I made an error in the headcount of deaths, there have been eleven Tier 7 casualties on the Zombie side, I forgot to include the one Alec killed, as a result, one of the infected humans is facing only a single zombie instead. Apologies for the miscalculation.

The Mental-Type Zombie stood at a distance, now guarded only by the Peak Tier 7 Hunter-Type Zombie, it was still reeling from the shock of Alec slaying a Tier 7 mutated zombie.
But now that it considered Alec’s rapid growth, it no longer felt secure with just the Hunter-Type Zombie protecting it.
Common sense dictated that Alec shouldn’t be able to kill a Peak Tier 7 Hunter-Type Zombie, one of the strongest combatants on the battlefield.
Yet something kept tugging at the back of its mind, making it uneasy. Mental-Type Zombies were prone to paranoia when things didn’t go their way, and with Alec being the reason its tactical strategy was falling apart, its judgment was growing more erratic.
It didn’t even send another Tier 7 mutated zombies toward Alec after the last death all because even the High-Rank battlefield was slipping out of control, despite bringing an extra five Tier 7 mutated zombies this time to secure a numerical advantage and end the fight swiftly, things hadn’t gone as planned.
It had failed to account for certain variables, like the unexpected participation of the Gordons clan, now, instead of overwhelming the High-Rank human mages, its forces were struggling just to hold their ground.
That was why the Type 3 Mental Zombie hadn’t bothered with Alec, as it already sensed that the zombies in Mid-Rank battlefield was nearing a disastrous loss and it was only a matter of time.
Desperate to salvage something from the situation, it shifted its focus to inflicting as much damage as possible on the High-Rank human mages, as it felt if it could eliminate enough of them, the next Blood Moon War might tip in its favour, even if today’s battle ended in failure.
But now, another variable had appeared on the high rank battlefield and it wasn’t just any variable, it was Alec, who seemed to have a knack for flipping the battlefield in favour of the human mages.
The Type 3 Mental Zombie had watched him long enough to know that he could definitely influence the High-Rank battlefield.
—
While the Mental Zombie was observing Alec, Alec was also observing him.
“So, how is it, Legion? Do we have a clear shot?” Alec asked, glancing at Legion, who stood to his left with a mechanical scanner over his eye. Legion had also been fixated on the Mental and Hunter Type Zombies stationed just a few meters from the space gate.
“Nope. It might look like the Hunter Type Zombie is just standing there, but the moment anyone moves toward the Mental Zombie, they’ll enter its attack range. And I’m really getting a bad vibe from that one,” Legion replied.
“Well, it’s easy to see why. That’s the strongest zombie on this battlefield,” Titan added.
“Its aura isn’t even unleashed, yet it remains unnervingly calm despite the massive losses on the zombie side,” he continued.
“And its presence surpasses both the Strength and Agility Type Zombies, even though they’re all in the same realm. That alone tells you how dangerous it is,” Titan concluded, his gaze locked on the Hunter Type Zombie standing protectively behind the Mental Zombie.
Its long tail swayed slowly behind it, coiling and uncoiling in a controlled motion. Alec couldn’t help but take note of its length, as it was by far the longest he had ever seen on a Hunter Type Zombie, the razor-sharp edges looked unreal, almost grotesque in their precision.
It made him wonder how a zombie’s evolution could turn what was originally a supportive spinal structure into such a lethal weapon.
“Well, that settles it, we’ll deal with the weaker Tier 7 zombies first, starting with that one.” Alec finally said, as he pointed at the lone zombie facing one of the infected human mages.
It was a Mid-Tier 7 Strength-Type Zombie. The moment Alec pointed, Titan shot forward.
“This one’s head is mine, Master!” Titan declared, twisting the handle of his mace, the spiked head began twirling, expanding in size, making Alec wonder how such a massive weapon was being supported by that ice chain.
Then again, he didn’t fully understand ice manipulation or the intricacies of variant black ice abilities, as long as his golems kept getting stronger, he was satisfied because that meant he was getting stronger too.
“That’s if I let you have it! Don’t fall behind, Master,” Legion taunted as he dashed ahead, as he swiftly swung his Sagittarius sniper behind him, causing the weapon to click into place as mechanical steel braces secured it to his back.
Even as he moved, he had already summoned his laser spear and a circular light shield, generated from the guard on his left hand.
Watching his golems charge ahead brought a grin to Alec’s face, even Legion was getting serious now, choosing his spear over his guns.
There was no way Alec could hold back in the face of such friendly competition.
Summoning his Bone Katana in his right hand, he formed a Blood Wakizashi in his left, wielding it in reverse grip.

“Let’s go!” Alec shouted, dashing forward to join his golems, determined not to be left behind.

#At the Capital City of the Northern Kingdom
This time, the king had made sure to assert his authority, commanding every clan patriarch in the capital to the palace for an urgent meeting, though he said it was a meeting but they understood his true motive behind the call, it was clear he was afraid.
The last attack at the palace had shaken him to his core, as he had never expected the palace to be breached, and for the first time, a ruler accustomed to peace in the palace had grown desperate.
To reinforce his position, he invoked a royal decree that could only be issued once a year, summoning the clan patriarchs, despite the significance of the day.
And because the patriarchs of these clans didn’t want to be branded as traitors, they all showed up.
Yet, ironically, there was no attack on the palace, nor was there any movement from the Space Eye in the sky. Instead, the four gate regions of the capital were under heavy assault, facing relentless firepower.
Still, the patriarchs whose clans were fighting could only grit their teeth, especially the patriarchs of the four ancient clans responsible for leading the other clans to guard the gates.
They couldn’t stop thinking about how their clan members were faring in battle.
The Blaze Clan, the Zero Clan, the Marionette Clan, and the Dark Clan bore the brunt of this blood moon war, while the Dragonmir Clan was exempt this time.
With each Blood moon war, one ancient clan was rotated out of battle, ensuring they all shared the burden of leading the defence against the Second Dimension’s invasion.
Yet now, the king had come up with yet another excuse to keep their patriarch away for the second time in a row.
Last month, it had been for the inter-academy competition, now, it was this so-called urgent summon.
And they were growing tired of it.
