Chapter 812: The New Quasi Lords 1.
#At the Lanzt Clan House

Bryan Lanzt sat silently, eyes fixed on the ground as tears slid down his face, beside him were his sister, his father, his grandfather, and the four elders of the Lanzt Clan, each one present, yet utterly silent.

The atmosphere in the hall was suffocating, a heavy weight of despair hanging over them all as if the entire clan stood on the brink of ruin.

And in truth, that’s exactly how they felt.

The cause of this overwhelming grief was the infection of Bailey Lanzt, the clan’s only high rank Mage, who was infected by zombie virus during the battle against the Type 3 zombies.

Now, with Bailey on the verge of being beheaded due to the infection, the entire clan had been thrown into crisis, the potential loss of such a figure wasn’t just a blow to their strength, it was the loss of a pillar, a beacon, a father, grandfather, and uncle to many of those present.

The man they had always looked to for strength was now at death’s door, and the clan was left grasping for hope.

Amid the tense silence, a mage entered the hall and dropped to one knee.

“Patriarch, an envoy from the Gordons clan is here, he says he brings goodwill from the young master of their clan,” the mage announced.

“Oh? Let him in, let him in,” Bailey responded, then turned to the elders and his son with a tired, wry smile.

“How long do you all plan on sulking like this? We have visitors, wipe those miserable expressions off your faces.”

“I’m not dead yet, you can cry and mope after I’m gone, cause if I really am going to die in the coming days, I’d rather do so surrounded by peace and smiles, not drowning in this sea of gloom,” Bailey said, his voice firm.

At his words, the others straightened up and did their best to feign calm, even if their hearts remained heavy.

It took only thirty seconds after Bailey Lanzt’s brief lecture before Alec’s envoy stepped into the room, as he entered, he bowed respectfully, cupping his hands together.

“Greetings, Grandmaster Bailey. Greetings, Lanzt Patriarch. I come bearing a gift from the young master, who hopes you’ll all be able to attend his auction in perfect health,” the envoy began, delivering Alec’s message with practiced politeness.

But the moment that first line left his lips, the air in the room grew heavier.

The Lanzt Patriarch immediately assumed this was Alec’s way of throwing shade, punishment for having ignored the boy before.

He wondered if Alec was subtly saying,

“Now you see the consequences of turning your back on me.” The other five elders looked ready to pounce, tension thick in the room, as if one wrong word from the envoy would lead to violence.

Bailey, however, just raised an eyebrow and studied the young envoy that had been sent, He had heard of Alec’s wisdom, how people often said he was far more mature than his age, he had even seen in on the battlefield for a brief second.

And more importantly, Bailey knew Alec was someone his own grandson deeply admired, that alone made him believe Alec wouldn’t be so petty or cruel as to flaunt his success in their faces using his health as a bargain for trouble, especially not when their clan was in crisis.

As suspicion and anger brewed among the elders, the envoy continued at last.

“To make your recovery easier, Sir Bailey, the young master, has sent thirty Tier 6 healing pills. He would be truly honoured if you could attend the auction in good health.”

With that, the envoy pulled a pill bottle from within his robe and offered it to the Lanzt Patriarch, who received it with shaky hands and silently passed it on to his father.

Bailey took the bottle, opened it carefully and the moment the sharp, potent scent of medicinal herbs hit his nose, he inhaled deeply… then burst into a loud, wild laugh.

“Help me tell that little demon of your clan that I’ll definitely be in attendance that day, he has nothing to worry about the Lanzt Clan won’t miss the auction for anything,” Bailey Lanzt said with a chuckle, waving the envoy off.

The mage bowed once more before exiting the room.

As soon as the door closed behind him, both Bailey and Bryan turned their eyes toward the Lanzt Patriarch.

Their silent, piercing gazes said it all they blamed him for the failed negotiations with the Gordons, no one uttered a word, but the weight of their stares was enough to make the Patriarch feel the guilt claw at him.

Deep down, he knew they were right, if he had simply taken the time to speak with Alec, as the Grand Elder of the Gordons had suggested, maybe his father wouldn’t be in this dire situation.

And hearing from his son that Alec had faced off against the city lord as the Gordons’ spokesperson only deepened the sting.

The more he learned, the more foolish he felt. Back then, he had taken the Grand Elder’s suggestion as an insult, how could he, a Patriarch, humble himself before a boy? But now, realizing that Alec commanded not only respect but authority within the Gordons clan, leading their mages and making critical decisions, he saw how blind and arrogant he’d been.

As even the city lord had treated Alec as someone important, something he had failed to do.

“I told you to stop sulking,” Bailey said, snapping him out of his thoughts.

“You can still try to repair the bond you broke on the day of the auction, lucky for you, the kid doesn’t seem as petty as you made him out to be.” The moment Bailey finished his sentence the Lanzt patriarch rolled his eyes as he remembered how much of a petty person Alec is

With that, Bailey uncorked the pill bottle again, this time, he downed all thirty pills at once.

The moment the pills entered his system, a wave of vitality surged through him, he swiftly unbuttoned his robe and looked down at the blackened area on his right shoulder, and it had shrunk significantly.

While the pills hadn’t completely eradicated the zombie virus, they had drastically reduced its hold on him, making him feel he could live the next ten to nine days in peace before the virus started acting up again.

Bailey could feel it, if he had maybe two hundred more of those pills, he might be able to suppress the virus into a dormant state for life.

But that wasn’t all, as the medicinal power coursed through him, he suddenly felt something stir within.

His cultivation realm, which had been stagnant for years, had finally started to loosen.

“Ohhh, worthy of its rank as quality pills,” Bailey said, nodding with satisfaction.

“Even if I don’t know where the Gordons acquired this newfound wealth, one thing is certain we must attend that auction.” He concluded.

“Because If what Alec said that day is true, then we absolutely have to get our hands on some of those treasures. Bryan, go and tell the mages handling the demon beast corpses to halt all processing. I want every high-quality specimen preserved, we’ll need everything in top shape.”

Bryan grinned and immediately left the room, already picturing how grand this auction would be, after all it was the first major auction in Estonia City in a long time.

—

On Alec’s first visit into the amulet world after the Blood Moon battle, the very first thing he tried was bringing in the zombie corpses he had accumulated, curious to see if they, too, could yield loot like human or demonic beast corpses.

He hoped—perhaps and even prayed that the Primordial Ancient Tree would recognize the zombies and offer a new variety of valuable rewards, fortunately for him the primordial tree branch didn’t discriminate and absorbed the zombie corpses.

While inside, he had left Oni, Butcher, and the Hive Queen behind at the amulet space, while assigning the rest of the golems to enter the second beast forest to farm experience points for the next realm upgrade needed for all three golems.

#Back to present

As the drowsiness of cultivation throughout the day to solidify his realm crept in and he felt the pull of unconsciousness, Alec decided it was finally time to summon his three new Tier 6 golems and examine their updated status tabs before entering the amulet world again and seeing what the zombie corpse would give him.

Stepping into the back courtyard, he channelled a strand of mana into the space pouch at his waist, just beside his student badge, and called forth Oni, Butcher, and Hive Queen.

The moment they appeared, their powerful auras swept outward in every direction, beneath Oni, a dark shadow pulsed ominously, while at Tempest Butcher’s side, wind and lightning crackled and danced around him, scorching the very stones under his feet.

Only the spot where Hive Queen stood seemed devoid of any dramatic phenomenon accompanying her entrance. In contrast, Oni and Butcher quickly reined in their berserk auras, pulling the wild energy back into their bodies until it was fully contained.

Once the pressure in the air settled, Alec took his time to carefully observe their new forms in detail.
