The Golem Mage - Chapter 816
Chapter 816: Undead Purge Pill
In the next split second, Alec found himself in the amulet space, which seemed on the verge of breaking through to another stage now that he had reached the peak of the Tier 5 Mage Realm, he could sense it, the interior of the amulet world was pulsating with energy, eager to expand.
Since it was connected to him, every time he advanced to a new realm, the amulet world also underwent improvements, and the most noticeable being the increase in its spatial dimensions.
However, these developments were not part of Alec’s current plan, so upon entering the amulet world, he immediately summoned all his main golems while cloaking himself in the Infernal Mantle set.
Although Alec often arrived in the amulet world wearing nothing but pants, with his spirit equipment tattoos glowing around his body like a totem tattoo, but he still wasn’t entirely comfortable with this transformation.
Consequently, he seized every opportunity to don the Infernal Mantle set for modesty, looking around, he realized he was not as disturbed by the dark presence surrounding the amulet world as he once was; while a few things illuminated the space, he had grown accustomed to the darkness.
“Titan, Legion, Queen, Butcher, Oni, you will continue your tasks for today, as for the remaining three, you will wait here, as I will personally oversee your evolution,” Alec commanded, fixing his gaze on them.
After issuing his orders, the five he mentioned moved toward the second level of the Beast Forest, though fighting Tier 6 demonic beasts in the forest was no trivial matter, but they were no longer the Tier 5 Golems they had once been.
Despite not having as large an army as any Tier 6 demonic beast leader inside the beast forest, each of them was supported by ten Captain-ranked Tier 5 golems, bolstering their strength.
Should they encounter a Tier 6 demonic beast they could not handle, they still had options to escape while incurring minimal losses. Alec’s golems were seasoned warriors who had faced numerous battles against the foes of the Beast Forest.
Though they still couldn’t challenge the Peak Tier 6 demonic beast, which were the region leaders head-on, but Alec’s golems could now roam and hunt freely within the second floor of the beast forest without facing death at every corner like they did when they first set foot there.
With the five gone, Alec ordered his remaining three golems to stay put before making his way toward the towering Primordial Ancient Tree. The moment he arrived, he reached out and placed his hand against the nearest branch, almost immediately, a system notification flickered into view:
[> Pay 1,200,000 System Points to harvest the whole branch (Y/N)]
Since Alec had willed to harvest everything from the specific branch he touched, the system calculated the total fee all at once, staring at the hefty cost to claim a branch packed with Tier 6 zombie corpses made his head throb, it was no small price.
Fortunately, with several Tier 6 golems now under his command, hunting Tier 6 demonic beasts to replenish his system points wouldn’t be as slow as before, even so, Alec had decided ahead of time to refine only twenty of the Tier 6 corpses, which was the limit a single Level 2 Primordial Ancient Tree branch could handle at once.
At 60,000 system points per corpse, it added up fast, explaining the steep fee of 1.2 million.
Without wasting a moment, Alec selected Y with a thought.
In an instant, the twenty fleshy pods hanging from the branch opened like blooming flowers, releasing a flurry of tiny, radiant lights that shimmered as they floated into the air around him.
[Ding!]
[> 60x Memory Orbs]
[> 100x Tier 6 Cultivation Pills]
As Alec reviewed the rewards, a frown tugged at his face,
‘only one hundred cultivation pills from twenty Tier 6 zombie corpses’ he thought, it was less than half of what he would’ve received from refining other Tier 6 corpses, and He’d expected at least two hundred.
But he couldn’t fault the system, after all, zombies were infamous for their diminished value, since their bodies were drained and corrupted by the virus that animated them, he’d known what he was getting into, and it was still better than letting those corpses burn, at least he was getting something from them.
If he could at least get a hundred Tier 6 cultivation pills out of those corpses, Alec felt it was still worth the effort.
What soured his mood, though, was having to pay the same hefty price as a proper Tier 6 corpse for the zombie corpses, only to receive half the expected yield, that frustration lingered until his gaze fell on the next set of loot from the harvest.
[> 100x Tier 6 Undead Purge Pill]
[> 60x Random Necro Spell Card]
[> 50x Tier 6 Healing Pills]
Without hesitation, Alec opened the description for the Undead Purge Pill.
[Undead Purge Pill]: A rare alchemical creation crafted specifically to counteract the effects of necrotic contagions such as zombie infections. Upon ingestion, the pill rapidly ignites the user’s latent life force, generating a powerful surge of purifying mana that courses through the bloodstream, eradicating any foreign necrotic energy and halting the mutation process before it can take root.

The moment he finished reading, Alec burst into laughter. Relief and satisfaction washed over him as he realized he no longer needed to waste precious healing pills trying to keep infected individuals from turning within the Gordons Clan.
His mind instantly drifted to the mages he’d dispatched days ago, carrying crates bottles of healing pills to various smaller clans in the city to help them hold on until the upcoming auction, back then, he had no idea the situation would turn out like this and he would get the cure for zombie virus, he’d only done it after hearing how the City Lord was quietly moving against the Gordons.
Alec had intended it as a strategic gesture, an investment to win goodwill from those minor clans, so even if those factions didn’t openly side with the Gordons, they’d at least hesitate to back the City Hall and might choose neutrality if things escalated between both factions.
That alone would have been enough for Alec, it was the extent of his plan for his goodwill.
But now, with the sudden appearance of the Undead Purge Pills, he could practically see the future unfold, as clans would be desperate to save their infected members, scrambling to outbid one another when those pills hit the auction floor.
He was ninety percent certain now that any clan whose mages or loved ones were cured by these pills would owe the Gordons a heavy debt, whether they admitted it or not, and due to gaining from the Gordons auction, most clans wouldn’t want to openly side with City Hall if a conflict broke out.
Alec wasn’t sure when this would happen, but during the few days since his return, he’d spoken with his grandfather when they sparred in the back mountains, who made it clear the clash was inevitable.
It was no longer a question of if, only when, as the City Lord had already orchestrated an attack against them, injuring the Gordons Clan and forcing them to abandon the outer region, such created a drift between them, and that very incident was what allowed Alec to repurpose the area, transforming it into a bustling business district operating under the clan’s authority and rules.
