The Golem Mage - Chapter 817
Chapter 817: New Quasi Lords 4.
With all that in mind, Alec moved toward the second branch, placing his hand against it, this one held a single, massive pod — housing the corpse of a Tier 7 mutated zombie.
Because the branch was still at Level 2, it could only comfortably refine mid-rank lifeforms, anything beyond that would strain the branch’s capacity, trigger penalties, and limit it to refining a single corpse at a time.
That was the only reason one body occupied a branch meant to hold twenty.
[> Pay 100,000 System Points to harvest plant (Y/N) ]
Alec, who had been bracing for an increase of at least another ten thousand points, blinked in surprise when the fee landed squarely at a hundred thousand, the thought of how much he was spending now made it feel like a headache was creeping into his skull, though in truth, he was fine.
He just wasn’t used to parting with such a large number of System Points so casually.
Despite the risk of overburdening the branch, Alec had made this decision for one simple reason, he wanted to push Draco into the Tier 7 Mage Realm as fast as possible.
And what better way than providing him with high-rank cultivation pills that no Tier 6 resource could compare to? Since he now had Tier 7 corpses lying around, dedicating one to harvest valuable pills for Draco was an easy choice.
It was all part of his plan to steadily raise the overall strength of the Gordons Clan, with his resolve set, Alec selected Y, and the familiar process began again, light swirling through the air before Alec stretched his hand with intentions to put them into his space ring, a moment later, the loot list appeared before him.
[> Ding!]
[> 3x Memory Orbs]
[> 5x Tier 7 Cultivation Pills]
[> 5x Undead Purge Pills]
[> 3x Random Necro Spell Cards]
[> 2x Tier 7 Healing Pills]
[> 1x High-rank Spirit Weapon: Necro Coiling Blade]
Alec blinked, slightly stunned as the loot from the Tier 7 mutated zombie appeared before him, for a moment, he tried to recall which zombie Type the branch had devoured and quickly remembered it was one of the Agility types.
Never for a second had he expected to obtain a full spirit equipment from refining a Tier 7 demonic corpse, though he normally got fragments from demonic beast, yet here was a full spirit weapon.
A high-rank spirit weapon, no less, from what he could sense, it was most likely a Tier 7-grade item, though it wasn’t part of a set, the value of this weapon alone surpassed anything Alec had ever personally possessed, but instead of claiming it for himself, his thoughts immediately went to Draco.
It would make a perfect gift alongside the cultivation pills.
While he was still sifting through the loot list, a sudden bright glow flared behind him, the three golems waiting nearby lit up like radiant beacons, pushing away the surrounding darkness and signalling that their breakthrough had begun.
“Shit!” Alec hissed, realizing he’d completely forgotten to restrain the experience overflow for at least two of them, so only one would evolve at a moment, he’d been so caught up in the excitement of his rewards and the discovery of a cure for the zombie virus that he neglected one of the key reasons he’d stayed behind in the amulet world, overseeing their evolutions properly.
Now, he had no choice but to manage all three evolutions simultaneously in the same space, a single mistake here could lead to complications that might cripple their future advancement or make future re-evolutions impossible, a risk too severe to ignore.
Without wasting another second, Alec willed all the newly obtained loot into his space ring, swiping away the lingering system notifications.
He braced himself and dove straight into handling the evolution process.
[> Sword Saint leveled up]
[> Magnito leveled up]
[> Hunter leveled up]

Alec didn’t even hesitate as he selected each of the options for his golems, he already had five Quasi General Golems at Lord rank and had personally witnessed just how overwhelming their presence and abilities were on the battlefield.
More importantly, every Lord-rank golem path came with the priceless benefit of having subordinate golems, personal squads dedicated to their master’s will.
For golems like Saint and Magnito, who hadn’t yet tasted this privilege, this evolution was a massive boon, it would finally give them their own squads to command, increasing not only their strength but their influence within Alec’s growing golem force.
“Mehn… the competition between these guys is about to get wild again,” Alec muttered with a smirk, already imagining the chaos to come.
As the three golems levitated into the air, a blinding radiance surrounded them, and moments later, each was encased in a unique cocoon of power.
Sword Saint’s cocoon was forged from ancient stone, dense and unyielding, but it shimmered with elemental particles swirling violently around it, a sharp, almost bladed intent clung to the surface of the stone like a lingering presence of battle itself.
Before long, ten distinct strands of mana burst out from the stone cocoon’s center, forming the skeletal outlines of ten new golems in mid-air. Runes drifted like silver fireflies, burning themselves into the forming bodies, etching commands and laws into their cores.
The ten forming golems instinctively curled their bodies like infants within a womb, their incomplete forms suspended in mid-air until another set of ten smaller cocoons materialized around them, shielding and nurturing their fragile development.
Magnito’s evolution, however, took a different form, his cocoon appeared to be forged from a liquid metal, shimmering like mercury, yet it pulsed and flexed like something alive, the silvery cocoon quivered with each passing second, as though it were struggling to contain the raw, volatile power shifting within it.
Even without touching it, Alec could feel the cold, sharp pressure emanating from the evolving construct, hinting at the lethal force it would soon become.
There was also a strand of mana linking Magnito’s cocoon to ten smaller liquid metal cocoons nearby, shimmering softly like droplets of living mercury, as for Hunter, his evolution process was far less flashy, at least to the eye, though Alec suspected it was no less formidable.
Hunter’s entire form was encased within a smooth, perfectly round iron shell shaped like an egg, surrounding the iron cocoon was a faint, intangible field of energy that repelled any elemental particles trying to drift close.
It was as if the very laws of nature refused to approach it, every particle wiped clean the moment it reached the invisible barrier.
Encircling Hunter’s cocoon were ten smaller iron eggs, each one revolving around him in a slow, deliberate orbit. Mana strands connected them all in a web-like network, thin but brimming with silent power. Within each strand, Alec could feel a pulse, a steady rhythm, almost like the beat of a heart.
As Alec observed the delicate network, he realized what was happening, the system was using the main golem’s essence as a template to craft the bodies of their future minions.
Unlike natural reproduction, these were magical constructs born of his will and system-guided steps.
The mana strands weren’t just threads of power, they were conduits carrying information, shaping the new bodies to resemble lesser, subordinate versions of their master.
More than that, those strands marked them, branding them with a signature of loyalty, as they would never be stronger than the primary golem used to create them, and they would forever remain tethered to the golem that birthed them, their leader and origin point.
