The Golem Mage - Chapter 834
Chapter 834: Auction 8.
While many in the crowd were busy wondering why no bidding war had erupted over such a high-caliber Spirit equipment set, Alec only smiled, only the top clans and a few insightful mages in the audience had grasped what truly happened.
Most of the clans hadn’t shown much interest in the Ivory Juggernaut Set simply because it lacked elemental affinity but was more biased towards Qi manipulation, making it a poor match for their mages.
Alec had given a brief explanation to stir some enthusiasm, and while a few had indeed shown interest, they remained hesitant.
The Aegisborn Patriarch, however, saw the armour as a perfect blessing, as its abilities seemed tailored to enhance his clan’s innate strengths, so when he noticed a few other Patriarchs preparing to bid, he acted swiftly, calling out a hundred Tier 6 bodies without hesitation.
In truth, that was the full amount his clan had brought to the auction.
His brother Orion had warned him not to allow too many parties to get swept up in a bidding frenzy or they might not win it, so he took the risk, by betting everything they had at once.
The move gave off the impression of a wealthy Patriarch going all-in for a treasure he wouldn’t let slip to the other clans that were thinking of bidding.
To the other Patriarchs, who weren’t overly eager to claim an armour designed for close combat, the decision was simple: step back.
They figured they would just bid for the better-suited equipment sets that would follow later on, besides, the corpses they had were limited and with it being such a valuable currency in the Gordons auction, it wasn’t something they wanted to waste against a Patriarch that seems willing to go all out for a spirit equipment set without an elemental affinity.
And just like that, the Aegisborn Patriarch’s bold gamble earned them the first equipment set.
Alec kept smiling as he looked around; he had arranged this intentionally, choosing that particular set as the first up for bidding to give the Aegisborn clan their opening.
Because If Alec had saved that equipment set for last, the Aegisborn clan might never have had a chance to bid for it, the competition would have been overwhelming.
Cause no matter how incompatible the other clans were with it, a certified Tier 6 spirit equipment set presented as the final item would have driven everyone who missed out on the earlier three into a frenzy.
Causing the Aegisborn to be forced to fight tooth and nail for it, losing the easy edge they had just enjoyed, that was the true scheme behind clearing the first spirit set early—now that it had an owner, all attention shifted to the remaining three.
Without delay, Alec walked toward the second equipment set beside the Ivory Juggernaut Set, while one of the female mages rolled the Ivory Juggernaut Set backstage.
This second spirit set had a light green hue, accented with streaks of white across the centerpiece – the armour.
Unlike the previous four-piece set, this one had three components, but the weapon was a dual set, effectively making it four, still, in classification, dual weapons of the same type are grouped as one.
It consisted of a full-body armour, boots that reached up to the knees, and a pair of wide, curved sabers.
“Moving on to the next spirit equipment set, this one is called the Gale Wolf Regalia, as you can see, it comes in three parts, with the weapon being a dual piece.” Alec said,
“The primary beast used in its creation is the Azure Wind Wolf, so it’s clear this set is compatible with wind-elemental mages, not only that, but its abilities lean heavily toward wind-based enhancements,” Alec explained.
“And just like I always say—this is an auction, so I won’t be giving away too many details. Let the owner have the privilege of discovering its secrets,” he added, glancing at the red light that flashed again at the side.
Though many of the mages in the crowd already knew a mental shield was preventing them from scanning the item’s properties and its special ability details, but a few mages still tried from time to time, hoping it had dropped.
But it remained firm, unwavering.
“The full-body armour is called Windhowl Aegis, the boots are Zephyrstride Greaves, and the weapon Tempestfang Blades, these three complete the Tier 6 spirit equipment set known as the Gale Wolf Regalia.”
“Starting bid begins at sixty-five Tier 6 bodies,” Alec announced, cutting straight to the chase.
Almost immediately, Bailey Lanzt called out, “A hundred Tier 6 bodies,”
Clearly hoping to snatch the set without a fight, but this time, the other clans weren’t going to let him win so easily just like the Aegisborn had done earlier.
There were only three equipment sets left, and while wind-elemental mages were rare in Estonia City, they weren’t about to let the Lanzt Clan walk away with another prize without contest.
There were even some clans that weren’t wind element affinity type or having any wind-element mages in their clan joining in the bidding, desperate to walk away with at least one piece of spirit equipment set before the end of the auction.
The only ones who remained silent were the representatives from City Hall, the Darkbliss Clan, and the Aegisborn Clan.

The Aegisborn had already secured their Spirit equipment set and were out of corpses to offer so it was understandable why they were not bidding, while the Darkbliss had their sights set on one of the two remaining sets.
But Alistair, who hadn’t placed a single bid since the auction began, had started to draw curious glances towards the first VIP booth.
As many in the crowd wondered what message the City Hall was trying to send by attending the auction without participating in the auction at all, but all speculation faded once the Gale Wolf Regalia was claimed by the Lanzt Clan.
Despite fierce resistance, the Lantz were relentless in their pursuit, as their patriarch believed the set would greatly enhance his power, and he made sure his father outbid everyone, securing the item at a staggering price of 180 Tier 6 bodies.
The sheer cost sent a ripple through the room.
With an eighty-body price jump from the previous item, it became clear to everyone, that the competition was only getting fiercer, and the price for the remaining two sets would climb even higher.
