The Golem Mage - Chapter 852
Chapter 852: Terms And Conditions.
Check out my new book on Webnovel, Fantasy Football. It’s quite different from Golem Mage, with a slower pace at the beginning, but it’s definitely worth every second of your time. I’m looking forward to your comments!
And that was how Alec finally defeated all four Overlord demonic beasts in the Second level of the Beast Forest.
His Golem used the rest of his time in the beast forest hunting as many beasts as they could manage while he sat on a rock, watching his system and receiving notifications of kills and level-ups.
After that night all he looked forward to was the upcoming Blood Moon battle, because after clearing the second level, Alec didn’t want to rush himself into entering the third level, he still felt he was far from being ready to see what was there or challenge the Tier 7 demonic beasts there.
Instead from that day onwards, every time he entered the amulet space he would send his golems to handle things in the second level while he stayed in the dark space of the amulet world, overseeing the refining of corpses.
He also used the surplus of corpses to upgrade what needed upgrading, like the mana river, which had now reached Level 6, making it possible for the aquatic lifeforms inside to reach Tier 6 Spirit Beast level.
He had also been carefully separating his earnings, saving some for his family to help level up the Gordons Clan before he returned to the academy.
Although the Gordons’ strength had increased, however Alec wasn’t satisfied yet, he wanted them to reach a level where they could crush the City Hall forces and anyone who might stand with them when the time came.
Luckily, the last Blood Moon war had provided them with plenty of benefits, as the Gordons Clan now boasted twenty Tier 6 mages, with the addition of his inner circle mages, Zack, and the few mages who had broken through after their contribution from the last battle.
Within the city, the Gordons Clan was the only one with such strength, though it was still a well-kept secret.
As a reward for Zack becoming the Eighth Elder of the Gordons Clan, Alec had personally requested to help him forge an equipment set, as long as Zack provided the body of a demonic beast to be used as the main material.
This development excited Zack, who had never managed to acquire a proper spirit armour, as the clan lacked forgers capable of crafting Tier 5 equipment in the past, but now Alec was promising him a full Tier 6 equipment set, without wasting time, Zack dropped several demonic beast bodies he had been storing in his space ring, all of which shared one trait: bone control or manipulation, evident from their armour-like skeletal structures.
He had been holding onto these materials for a long time, hoping that someday he would have enough funds to pay for the crafting of his spirit armour that is perfectly tailored to him.
Though he had only just learned of Alec’s forging prowess, however, everything he’d heard made it clear that Alec had reached the realm of masters, and that’s why he didn’t hesitate to hand over everything he had worked so hard to collect for so long.
However, all the beast bodies Zack provided were Tier 5, not quite enough for Alec’s plans, so Alec sent his golems into the Beast Forest that night to hunt down higher-ranked bone-type demonic beasts, in doing so, he replaced all of Zack’s offerings with Tier 6 bodies.
This was made possible by a new feature of the amulet, which Alec unlocked upon reaching the Tier 6 Mage realm.
Now, he could take objects in and out of the amulet space without paying a fee, provided there was no breath of life, but if the beings were alive, a fee was required to bring them in.
Just like how he had to pay a fee for the fishes he had previously transported into the Mana river, Alec had considered sending his inner circle in the same way, but not knowing the full risks, he chose not to test it, after all he wasn’t sure whether someone who died inside with his body would be lost forever or returned safely like when it was their consciousness that was dragged in.
In the end, he decided the risk wasn’t worth it, instead, he planned to continue the use of Ancient Primordial Tree branches to transfer their consciousness into the amulet space, as that method had already been tested and confirmed: so if they died inside, they’d simply return and there was no payment required for that one too.
After gathering all the necessary materials, Alec finally crafted the spirit equipment set.
Since it was a specialized forge and not a random crafting attempt, he paid a significant amount of System Points, as the astral figure of a great dwarf forgemaster was summoned, and with its aid, the new Tier 6 spirit equipment set was formed.
It was named the Marrowbound Set, consisting of the Marrowbound Aegisplate (chest armour), Marrowbound Grasp (gauntlets), Marrowbound Striders (boots), and Marrowfang (katana).
When Zack linked with Alec’s gift and summoned the set, he looked like a death knight fully clad in an ivory white bone armour.
The equipment granted him numerous abilities and significantly enhanced his power, thereby boosting the overall strength of the Gordons Clan, which was exactly what Alec had intended.

That chapter closed, but just as Alec was preparing his state of mind to finally enter the third level of the Beast Forest, the City Lord paid a visit to the Gordons Clan, just as Alec had predicted days earlier, but this time, the City Lord had requested to meet with both the Clan Patriarch and the Grand Elder.
His visit this time seemed more like a plea than an official call, as he had opposed them a lot during the last battle, even though they had turned up purely for the sake of the city.
Now, he was planning on pleading for their aid once more and offering to extend their exemption period an extra month, with many other clans opting out of the next battle to enjoy their exemption, the City Lord was under immense pressure.
Because most of the remaining clans scheduled to fight were newcomers to the city, lacking the experience needed to face a full-scale zombie horde.
Though this clans had only heard stories of the zombie horrors from those that lost, but the city’s recent victories had made them overconfident, and these inexperienced clans believed that if others had survived the onslaught, they could do the same, failing to grasp the true weight of what was coming.

Though the readings from the City Hall forces showed that the space gate’s energy had significantly decreased, but the City Lord knew that if he engaged in the upcoming battle with the current line-up of inexperienced clans, it would be his own City Hall mages who would suffer the most, since they always stayed in the front lines like the city’s shield.
All he truly wanted was to preserve his strength, but he hit a roadblock when the Gordons Clan Patriarch claimed he couldn’t leave his cultivation and asked the Grand Elder to allow Alec to represent the clan in his place.
And so, it was Alec and the Grand Elder who sat opposite the City Lord, and as much as he tried to maintain a smile, the City Lord was internally gritting his teeth in frustration, as it felt like a carefully planned grudge was being acted out against him.
