THE HEIRESS VOW - Chapter 54
The Major Operation
Ava crouched behind a stack of rusted metal crates, her breath barely audible over the hum of machinery. The industrial complex was a labyrinth of towering structures, pipes, and flickering lights. She glanced at Liam, who signaled with a nod. They had to move quickly, their mission clear: infiltrate, gather information, and sabotage the operation.
Ava and Liam slipped through the shadows, their movements synchronized and silent. The air was thick with the smell of oil and metal, the clanging of distant machinery echoing through the vast space. They reached a narrow corridor, dimly lit by overhead lamps. Ava’s heart pounded as she scanned for any signs of security.
“Over there,” Liam whispered, pointing to a door marked ‘Control Room.’ Ava nodded, her mind racing. This was their chance to gather crucial intel.
Inside the control room, the walls were lined with monitors displaying various sections of the complex. Ava’s eyes darted to a blueprint pinned on the wall. She moved closer, tracing the lines with her finger.
“This must be it,” she muttered, studying the detailed plans. “We need to find the main hub and plant the device.”
Liam nodded, pulling out a small, sleek device from his bag. “Let’s make it quick. We don’t have much time.”
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps echoed from the hallway. Ava’s heart skipped a beat. She and Liam exchanged a glance, then swiftly hid behind a row of cabinets. A guard entered, his flashlight sweeping the room. Ava held her breath, her pulse quickening. The guard paused, then turned and exited the room.
Ava exhaled slowly, relief washing over her. “That was close,” she whispered.
Liam nodded. “Let’s move.”
They continued through the complex, navigating a maze of pipes and machinery. Every step was calculated, every movement precise. They reached a large, reinforced door. Ava knelt down, inspecting the lock.
“I can bypass this,” she said, pulling out a set of tools. Her fingers worked deftly, the lock clicking open within seconds. They slipped inside, finding themselves in a room filled with computer servers and control panels.
Ava approached one of the panels, plugging in a device. “This should give us access to their network,” she explained. “We can download the information we need and plant the virus.”
As the device worked its magic, Liam kept watch. The minutes ticked by, tension hanging thick in the air. Finally, the device beeped, signaling the completion of its task.
“Got it,” Ava said, pulling out the device. “Now we just need to—”
The door burst open, and a group of guards stormed in, weapons drawn. Ava and Liam froze, their hearts pounding.
“Hands up!” one of the guards barked.
Ava’s mind raced. She had to think fast. “Wait!” she exclaimed, raising her hands. “We have information you might be interested in.”
The guard sneered. “And why should we listen to you?”
“Because if you don’t, you’ll never find out who’s been leaking your intel,” Ava replied, her voice steady despite the fear gnawing at her insides.
The guards exchanged glances, uncertainty flickering in their eyes. Finally, the leader motioned for them to lower their weapons.
“Talk,” he said.
Ava took a deep breath. “We know about the attack you’re planning. The blueprint for a massive, coordinated strike against my family’s assets worldwide. We can help you stop it.”
The guard’s eyes narrowed. “Why would you help us?”
“Because if this operation goes through, it’s not just my family at risk,” Ava said. “Your employer has a lot more enemies than you realize. And they won’t hesitate to take down anyone in their way—including you.”
The guards hesitated, then the leader nodded. “Alright. We’ll hear you out. But no funny business.”
Ava and Liam were led to a small, dimly lit room. The guard leader, a burly man with a scar running down his cheek, crossed his arms and glared at them.
“Start talking,” he demanded.
Ava took a deep breath, her mind racing. She had to choose her words carefully. “We managed to access your network,” she began. “And we found plans for a major attack targeting my family’s assets around the world. We need to stop it, and we can help you do that.”
The guard leader’s eyes narrowed. “Why should we trust you?”
“Because we have no other choice,” Ava replied. “If this attack goes through, it will cause chaos and destruction on a massive scale. And we both know that’s not what your employer wants.”

The guard leader seemed to consider this, then finally nodded. “Alright. But if you try anything, you’re dead.”
Ava and Liam nodded, relief flooding through them. They had a chance—albeit a slim one—to stop the operation and save countless lives.
“What’s the plan?” the guard leader asked.
“We need to access the main server room and plant a virus that will disable the operation,” Ava explained. “But we’ll need your help to get there.”
The guard leader nodded. “Fine. But you better not be lying.”
They were escorted through the complex, the guards’ weapons trained on them at all times. Ava’s mind raced as she tried to formulate a plan. They reached the server room, a massive space filled with rows of humming machines.
“Plant the virus,” the guard leader ordered.
Ava approached one of the main servers, her hands shaking as she plugged in the device. The screen flickered to life, displaying lines of code as the virus began to take effect.
“It’s working,” Ava said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Suddenly, alarms blared, and the room was bathed in red light. “What the hell?” the guard leader shouted.
Ava’s heart pounded. “We need to get out of here, now!”
The guards herded them towards the exit, the alarms echoing through the complex. They burst outside, the cool night air hitting them like a slap. Ava and Liam exchanged a glance, their faces pale.
“We did it,” Liam said, disbelief and relief mixing in his voice.
Ava nodded, but her mind was already racing ahead. They had uncovered something much bigger than they had anticipated. As they made their way to their getaway vehicle, Ava couldn’t shake the feeling that this was just the beginning.
They climbed into the car, and Ava pulled out the blueprint she had taken from the control room. Her eyes scanned the paper, her heart sinking as she realized the full extent of the operation.
“This is bad,” she murmured. “Really bad.”
Liam leaned over, his eyes widening as he took in the details. “We have to warn your family.”
Ava nodded, her mind already formulating a plan. “We will. But first, we need to get out of here.”
The engine roared to life, and they sped away from the complex, the red lights fading into the distance. Ava’s mind raced as she considered their next move. They had stopped the operation, but the threat was far from over.
As the car raced through the night, Ava couldn’t help but feel a sense of dread. They had uncovered a blueprint for a massive, coordinated attack against her family’s assets worldwide. And now, they were the only ones who could stop it.
“What’s next?” Liam asked, his voice tense.
Ava clenched her jaw, determination hardening her resolve. “We fight,” she said. “We fight with everything we’ve got.”
And with that, they drove into the night, ready to face whatever came next. The battle was far from over, and Ava knew that the stakes had never been higher. But she also knew that they had each other—and that was enough to give her hope.
As the first light of dawn began to break, Ava glanced at Liam, her eyes filled with determination. “We’re going to stop them,” she said. “No matter what it takes.”
Liam nodded, his expression mirroring her resolve. “Together,” he said.
Ava took a deep breath, steeling herself for the fight ahead. They had uncovered the blueprint, but now they had to stop the attack—and save her family. The road ahead was dangerous and uncertain, but Ava was ready to face it head-on. The major operation was just the beginning, and Ava knew that the real battle was only just beginning.
