Chapter 590: Anticipation…
It has been two days since Klaus announced that she would be storming Union City to face the Legacy Clan alliance.
It was an arrogant yet bold move on her part, making such a bold declaration on air. But it was also what was needed since this has built up the anticipation to another level.
Currently, the various heads of the alliance are gathered inside a luxurious building in Union City.
Duncan, along with Jiwon, Mason, and Nabil, was there. Vargas, the head of the Vargas legacy family, was also present. Markos from the Markos Great Family in the Western Union was also in attendance. Lanky of the Lanky Great Family from the Eastern Union was also present.
Aside from them, a few notable families who are in some way linked to the Legacy families and a few to the great clans were also present. A handful of mercenary groups and factions were around as well.
However, the main attraction was the leader of the Dark Order, who had become an Ascendant and was now sitting wearing a mask in one corner of the room.
Naturally, he commanded the most powerful force, considering Dark Lords One, Two, Nine, and Eleven had now become Transcendents.
This made him the highest authority there, yet he chose to stay out of their way and focus on what he had come to do… kill Klaus Hanson.
“Is everything ready?” Duncan, acting as the leader of the alliance, asked.
“Yes,” one of the mercenary leaders responded. “Everyone is ready and waiting for him to make his appearance.”
“Good,” Duncan nodded.
Though one could describe this as overkill, they were not taking any chances. Now that they knew Klaus was friends with an Overlord, they had to be extra careful.
Thankfully, the Dark Order joined them, so they are pretty confident now. They have assembled a force that could challenge a whole country if this were before the apocalypse. Now they are sitting in wait for a mere youngster to appear.
“But do we really need all this force to face him? This is practically all of our warriors combined. This feels like overkill,” Collins Simmy, one of the heads of the great families affiliated with the Vargas legacy family, asked.
“This is Klaus Hanson we are talking about. He singlehandedly cleared an entire Forbidden Zone when he was several times weaker than he currently is. He has done things that just don’t make sense.
So while yes, this is overkill—going against him with thousands of Saints, Sages, and Great Sages, hundreds of Sovereigns, dozens of Transcendents, and even an Ascendant—at the end of the day, we all want to see his dead body.
“And while people will criticize us, using our entire force to kill him is worth it. He is not someone we can ignore, so he must die,” Duncan said without hesitation.
They could never control him, so they might as well kill him. Even though they knew the overlords wouldn’t interfere, they were still prepared for them.
They continued to wait for their prey.
Meanwhile, far from the Northern Union, the heads of the Ravani Great Clan and Antonio Great Clan were staring at a large screen showing the events about to unfold in the Northern Union.
It wasn’t just them. All over the world, and even in the Celestial Mountain Academy, everyone was watching the events that were about to happen.
“Do you think we made the right decision not to join this alliance? If we had, we would have gained a connection to the Dark Order and a few powerhouses,” Ravani sighed.
“I also don’t know, but I have a gut feeling we may have escaped something. Even if they succeed in killing that brat, the overlord’s friend would definitely come after them one way or another,” Antonio replied.
“Well, you have to give it to Klaus; he sure knows how to anger people,” Ravani sighed. “His father saved my life a couple of years ago, you know.
Back then, I was attacked by a bunch of zombies, and I happened to run into him. I never knew he was this brat’s father until recently when I chose to look into him.”
“Wait, that benefactor you wanted to give your daughter to is this brat’s father?” Antonio asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Yes. Such a small world, isn’t it?” Ravani sighed.
He knew he wouldn’t be able to do much today, but if there was a chance in the future that Klaus would survive, then he would surely repay him for his father saving his life.
Meanwhile, the overlords were also watching, but not from their meeting rooms. No, they were a couple of miles away from Union City.

Queenie obviously wasn’t with them, as she was currently watching from Stone Valley, where Klaus’s friends and women were.
“Isn’t this an overkill? I mean, Klaus is just one person,” Overlord Mira said, looking very angry.
Queenie had informed them of Klaus’s success in the dungeon, and as the coolest overlord among them, she believed Klaus should be celebrated by now. Instead, he was about to engage in a life-and-death battle with this useless Alliance.
Overlord Dharma looked at her and smiled. “Don’t worry. Although the leader said we shouldn’t interfere, I won’t let Klaus die. Not on my watch.”
It wasn’t only him; the other Overlords all held the same thought. Klaus had just helped them unlock an ancient ruin, and for that, they wouldn’t let him die just like that.
“But what if Klaus does indeed have the strength to kill them all? Are we to intervene?” Overlord Sorrine asked.
“Then they can all die. This behaviour of theirs isn’t commendable. Instead of protecting an asset, they actually want to take him down,” Overlord Dharma said, exuding some killing intent.
Meanwhile, as everyone was waiting for Klaus to grace them with his presence, he was at the moment negotiating with five battle-ready individuals blocking his path.
“Uncle Ziggy, I said this is none of your fault, so don’t beat yourself up over it. As for joining the battle, no can do,” Klaus said, looking at his five uncles who had returned as Peak Great Sages after vanishing for over three months.
“We’re coming whether you like it or not,” Uncle Jojo said, brandishing his colossal shield.
Klaus could only scratch his head, trying to think of a way to solve this issue. Though having them around was cool, it would defeat the purpose of what he planned to show.
After today, he wanted to declare that no matter who you are, never come against him or anyone in his circle. He was ending all forms of negative thoughts directed toward him.
“How about this: instead of fighting against me, you five can act as my anchor and use your soul strength to expand a containment formation,” Klaus offered.
“Are you planning on boxing them in?” Uncle Ziggy asked.
“More like a pentagon, but yes. I plan to keep all of them contained, and to do that, I will need to depend on your soul strength. This way, without even using your weapons, you can help me on the soul level.”
The five uncles nodded. They couldn’t object to this compromise. Klaus smiled and told them to spread out and surround Union City, which, to his shock, took them just under an hour.
Klaus then moved, and the next second, he made his presence known in Union City. This, of course, was the moment the Alliance realized they had poked the wrong bear.
