Chapter 683: Nari, The Great Calamity (1)
Klaus and the ladies appeared back in the skies on Earth. Nari used her authority of the Void to transport them all.
What greeted them were battle-ready warriors, each holding their weapons.
However, they all lowered their weapons when they saw the figures emerging from the space rift.
“It’s good to see such a response; this shows the plans to create air defense will be very effective,” Klaus said, and the ladies behind him nodded.
“Relax, everyone. Today is not for fighting but to welcome a new powerhouse who will not hesitate to fight for this world,” Klaus smiled.
“Everyone, I present Overlord Nari. Most of you know her as the Crazy Fire Queen—ouch!” Klaus winced, feeling a hot sensation latch onto his ear.
The warriors laughed, finally lightening the mood.
“Hello, everyone. As he said, I am Nari, but feel free to call me whatever you want. I know you all have nicknames for me,” Nari smiled, though it didn’t reach her eyes.
The warriors’ smiles faded, and they glanced at Klaus.
“Don’t mind her; she’s just crazy.”
“Alright, let’s all get back to what we were doing,” Queenie said, finally easing the tension among the warriors.
“Nari, you can’t scare them like that. They are warriors we will be fighting alongside on the battlefield,” Queenie said to her sister, who hadn’t changed even after becoming a beauty among beauties.
Klaus and the five ladies returned to the academy, where Klaus and Nari immediately entered the multidimensional cube.
Nari wanted to show him her transformation first before anyone else, so they appeared inside the lava space, where the flames and burning had subsided.
Klaus quickly distanced himself as Nari took to the skies.
After flying up high enough, she smiled at Klaus for a few seconds before a phoenix screeched into existence, spreading its wings wide.
Her appearance was a blend of red and gold. Her wings, mostly red, spanned over 10 meters each, with golden feathers at the tips.
She had a golden crown on her head, and her talons were a deep, metallic gold. Her tail feathers were also golden, and as she moved through the air, a red and golden fire trail followed her.
“Beautiful,” Klaus couldn’t help but admire the phoenix in the air.
It was simply too stunning.
Klaus had seen phoenixes before. He had met a few and even had one as a companion, based on his memories of his past as Efad.
So, he knew how beautiful phoenixes could be. But watching Nari streak through the sky, he couldn’t help but admire the beauty of it all.
Nari circled the sky for a few seconds before she transformed into her demi-phoenix form.
In this form, she was clad in provocative red leather armour. It covered her body just enough that if her opponents didn’t die from her arrows, they might perish from being charmed by the skin she revealed.
After her rebirth, she had become incredibly seductive, and thanks to her affinity for the fire element, her presence always exuded pressure.
So, watching her well-packaged chest, which could even give Miriam a run for her money, Klaus couldn’t help but shake his head.
The leather was red, and her boots were also red. But Klaus, who understood runic words, could read the golden writing on the armour and was shocked by it.
“Nari, come down first. I want to examine something before you show me the rest,” Klaus said to the bird in the air, and she arrived in front of him instantly.
Perhaps Nari was just being naughty because the way she landed caused her chest to jiggle, making Klaus stare while he gently licked his lips.
“They’re yours for the taking as soon as you tell me what happened during my awakening,” Nari smiled, her beauty radiant.

On the other hand, Klaus just smirked, held her waist, and pulled her closer.
“Be a good girl, and maybe I will tell you… I might even let you drink my blood every now and then,” Klaus said, his voice teasing.
Nari narrowed her eyes at him and smiled. She pulled herself closer, making sure Klaus felt her chest pressed against his.
She whispered into his ear, “Be sure to examine my body well, then. You might never have the energy to examine it after we are done.”
She gently bit his ear, causing Klaus to start reevaluating who the dominant one was between the two of them.
‘She must be tamed soon, else the calamity that was meant for the heavens will be directed toward me,’ he thought, smiling as he already liked where this was going.
He pulled her back and began examining her body, now covered in red armour.
The golden runes on the armour were all enchantments that played a key role in her armour’s abilities.
As a fire-type user, Klaus could tell all the runes revolved around the fire element, enhancing defence, offence, health, and more.
“These enchantments are just…” Klaus was dumbfounded. Looking at them made him wonder why she would need skills again.
An enchantment like [Phoenix Guard] generates a protective barrier around her that automatically activates when her health drops below 30%.
But the main strength of the guard was what made it monstrous. The barrier would cut all attacks in half, lowering their potency by 50%.
In other words, if an attack that could kill her landed on the guard, she had a 50% chance of walking away with only an injury.
But while this might not guarantee her survival in every scenario, a support-type enchantment called [Phoenix Rebirth] allows her to cheat death once every 24 hours.
It has the same name as the second life aspect of her bloodline, but it’s even monstrous for mere armour.
If she dies, the indestructible armour will restore her to full health. In fact, unlike a true rebirth, this works like a second HP bar.
Basically, if an attack goes through and is about to kill her, this enchantment will activate and flip her HP bar, returning her to the state she was in before the battle began.
And it resets after 24 hours.
And that’s not the only enhancement. No, there are dozens of them, and each one is just as monstrous.
“This is just too…”
Klaus sighed.
