Chapter 739: Deaths Chosen (3)
Klaus now has all 27 minds focused on the battle, making the hivemind complete. This means his focus was back on the snake.
However, he could not shake the feeling that something wasn’t adding up.
His mind was that big, and his thinking capacity was rather monstrous, so he knew something was clearly not right.
However, he didn’t know what.
He was now more focused on making sure he wouldn’t miss anything. The battle was strange in a way he just couldn’t explain.
So, while he was overwhelming the snake, he was also taking measures in case something bad happened.
Meanwhile, back at the camp, a great battle was hammering down hard on the soldiers and the Paragon Force.
(A/N: I will start calling them Paragon Force, but the official initiation rite will be performed in future chapters.)
When the Tier 11 snake attacked the Devouring Snake, the Tier 10 Diamond Body Brute Elephant also attacked the camp, this time with its full force.
Old Lu was holding it down. He and General Dane are locked in with the Peak Tier 10 brute, who is disciplining them greatly.
None of their attacks connected, and strangely, the elephant wasn’t slow either. It was fast and powerful, something that caught them by surprise.
Clearly, its law of self has something to do with adaptability. It wasn’t too fast or too slow, either. It was just perfect for adapting to the battle.
Old Lu was using his powerful attacks, hoping to create an opening for General Dane to land a fatal attack.
Still, whenever he landed an attack, the brute elephant just evaded or defended like it was unaffected.
The clash only intensified as the Tier 10 Diamond Body Brute Elephant charged forward, its massive feet shaking the earth with every step.
The warriors were being tossed around whenever it stepped on the ground. The more it moved around, the more disorganized the battle became.
Thankfully, Old Lu knew that the brute had to be pushed away for Lucy to have good control over her teammates.
Old Lu gritted his teeth, sweat dripping down his weathered face as he unleashed a barrage of energy-infused strikes.
Finally, the chance came when he saw Kathy take out a Level 5 Tier 10 Brute Elephant. The moment the elephant fell, one of the first Tier 10s to fall, his chance arrived.
“Enhance!”
His voice boomed, and his shirt burst apart, revealing his muscular physique now lined with green runes. They ran across his body.
Strangely, his bald head gleamed under the sunlight, making Lily, who was fortunate to see it, giggle. She knew Klaus would have made fun of his uncle if he were to be around.
“General Dane, I will require you to hold it back for a minute,” Old Lu said, and General Dane nodded. He knew he was out of his league here, but he had to.
He and Old Lu should have taken care of Level 7 and below, but Old Lu knew Kathy and Miriam were special.
If they were to take on the Peak Brute Elephant, the chances of him and General Dane handling Level 7 and below were still low.
So they would hold the brute back and wait for the two ladies who held one of the keys to winning this battle.
The moment General Dane got in position for some beatdown, Old Lu flew away and landed on the body of the brute Kathy had killed.
He clapped his hands together, and a barrier appeared around him.
“Blood Monk Transformation” He said the magic words.
The moment he did, the blood coming from the dead Tier 10 Brute Elephant started getting absorbed into his body.

Slowly, his aura began to rise as the blood was being absorbed.
General Dane circled to the beast’s flank, his blade gleaming with a faint golden hue. He was enhancing his sword using sword qi.
He lunged, aiming for a gap beneath the brute’s thick foreleg, but the elephant twisted with unnatural agility, slamming its trunk into the ground where Dane had stood a heartbeat before.
The general rolled aside, narrowly avoiding the crater left behind, and cursed under his breath.
It had only been a few seconds since he took over, but he was already getting overwhelmed.
But that was to be expected, considering the monster he was fighting wasn’t normal. This one had skin as thick as metal, so the fact that he, a Transcendent, hadn’t turned to paste yet was already a miracle.
But he was holding on.
Meanwhile, Lucy was under great stress as she issued commands. This time, the scale of the battle was large, so her vines were everywhere, and her command was absolute.
Nobody dared question her orders, for she was that powerful at the moment.
She was in charge of their safety, so she did everything in her power to keep them safe and engaged in combat.
Klaus wants to make her a Supreme Command of all the warriors on earth. Aside from commanding the Paragon Force, she will also hold it down when all armies on earth are facing one common foe.
So this was her trial run. It was just too bad Klaus wasn’t around to direct her. Of course, as the incarnation of the infamous Vine Queen, she was holding it steady.
But she wasn’t doing too much, thanks to her team.
After the battle in the Ant Kingdom, they had gotten a good grasp of chaotic battles, so they were already doing their part.
Klaus made sure they understood the concept of against-the-odds battles. So, despite being surrounded by towering monsters, they were holding their ground.
Thankfully, his uncles were there with them.
The Brute came with 1200 brutes.
Out of that, 1000 were Tier 8 and below. Those were the ones the Paragon Force was dealing with. They and the military were handling the 1000.
But not all of them were cutting their clothes according to their sizes. Miriam, Nadia, and Kathy were facing the 10 more Tier 10s.
Kathy had already killed one Tier 10, and Miriam was almost done handling one. But the one working the magic was Nadia.
Like what she did in their last battle inside the Ant Kingdom, the black pot filled with souls was in front of her while her 6 puppets encircled the 7 remaining Tier 10s, ensuring they didn’t get past them.
Naturally, Lucy didn’t want to put her asset in harm’s way, so this time, Ling and Zing were guarding her. They created several layers of defenses around her.
So Nadia was just there, moving her fingers through the air as her puppets handled the monsters. The formal fashion designer was now holding back 7 overlord-level monsters.
The world would definitely flip if they knew that.
But now that the Tier 10 and Tier 8 monsters had been taken into account, the over 180 Tier 9s that came with them were the true headaches.
They are like the Variables that will determine whether the humans will win or the monsters will.
Thankfully, the main forces Lucy pushed to the front of that battle were Uncle Ziggy, Jojo, Xian, Mark, and James.
Klaus had told her long ago that she shouldn’t hesitate to use his Uncles as meat shields whenever she is in a battle, and they are fighting for her.
Naturally, he made sure his uncles didn’t know of his plans for them. But now that the odds were against them, Lucy didn’t hesitate to push them to the frontline.
But while they should have despaired, they were rather over the moon as they handled the brutes, showing everyone that Klaus wasn’t the genius in the family.
