The Monster King's Legacy - Chapter 153
Chapter 153: Plans for the Future
As the council meeting concluded and everyone dispersed for good, Rynne lingered as she was to take Lance to his permanent residence. Since it was being cleaned before, he had to sleep elsewhere, but now it had been prepared.
Lance was very impressed with the structure and design of the room. It reminded him of the typical rooms in palaces he would see back on earth in historical movies and animations. Everything from the bed to the bathroom was top tier, he was very pleased.
Rynne stood near the window, her sharp profile outlined by the moonlight. Lance approached her, sensing that she had something on her mind.
“Rynne?” he asked, his tone gentle.
She turned, her yellowish gold eyes locking onto his. “You’ve changed so much, Lance. You’re stronger… But… I’ve been holding back.”
Lance raised an eyebrow. “Holding back?”
Rynne stepped closer, her hand brushing against his chest. “I’ve missed you all this time, we all have. I’ve been waiting for this for a long time, Lance. But I had literally no choice but to wait. Now, I don’t want to wait anymore.”
Lance’s golden eyes softened as he cupped her cheek, his thumb brushing against her skin. “You don’t have to wait, Rynne. Not anymore.”
Rynne her hands around Lance while he pulled her into a fierce kiss, her pent-up emotions pouring out in every movement. Lance responded with equal intensity, his hands gripping her waist as he pressed her against the wall.
Her armor clattered to the floor as they shed the barriers between them, their breaths mingling in the heated air. Rynne’s nails pressed into his back as she whispered his name, her voice trembling with desire.
Lance guided her to the bed, his movements deliberate yet filled with urgency. Their passion ignited like a wildfire, consuming them both as they explored the depths of their connection.
“Lance~~” Rynne gasped, her voice both commanding and vulnerable. “Don’t hold back.”
“I won’t,” he promised, his golden eyes blazing with intensity.
Their intimacy reached new heights, their bodies moving in perfect harmony as Lance rode Rynne to new levels she hadn’t reached before. Certainly, his new self was more ferocious than ever. Rynne’s strength met Lance’s newfound power, creating a fiery exchange that left her breathless at almost every thrust.
They continued deep into the night, Lance taking Rynne beyond satisfaction, until she could no longer continue as they lay tangled together, the fire of their passion giving way to a comfortable warmth. Rynne rested her head on Lance’s chest, her fingers tracing over his skin.
“You’re incredible,” she murmured, her voice soft.
Lance chuckled, brushing a strand of hair from her face. “You’ll have a lot of opportunity to see even more.”
She chuckled, turning around so that Lance hugged her from behind.
As the first light of dawn crept into the room, they drifted into a peaceful sleep, their bond stronger than ever.
…
The sun cast a warm glow over the goblin capital as Lance gathered the leaders and important leaders of his Monster nation as they saw it, in a private meeting chamber within the central building that served as what would be the main government building in the city where the King’s throne room also resided. The room, adorned with intricate tapestries and a large map of the kingdom, radiated an air of both comfort and authority. Lance for one was quite satisfied with the look of the place. Lance sat at the head of the table, with the rest present.
The goblin elder from the first meeting whom he had now learnt her name to be Zrikka leaned forward, her soft gaze fixed on Lance. She was older than all of them present. “Um, Lord, you’ve mentioned the dragons, but we’ve never truly understood what happened to you there. What does it mean to be dragon-blessed?”
Lance exhaled, running a hand through his hair. “It’s… a lot to explain. But it’s time you all know everything.” He said. Even though he had explained most of it to Rynne and the others, the other elders weren’t present.
He recounted his journey in the sacred dragon lands, from his grueling training under Kaelthara to the Chasm of Life and the oath he swore to the dragon god. As he spoke, his tone grew solemn, reflecting the gravity of his experiences.
“When I entered the Chasm of Life, I didn’t know what would happen,” Lance admitted. “The liquid… it wasn’t just enhancing me. It was changing me, reshaping my very essence.”
Grathok, the orc tribe’s chief tilted his head, curious. “Changing you how?”
Lance gestured to himself. “You must not realize it, but I wasn’t always this tall with these eyes. They’re all different now. I’m not entirely just human anymore. I’m something… in between.” Lance said. He didn’t speak about his looks, as he definitely was more handsome now than his rather average look before.
Zarra leaned back in her chair, her grin faint but teasing. “So, you’re saying you’re a dragon in disguise now? Explains why you’re even more of a beast.”
Kaeli shot Zarra a look but couldn’t help smirking. “It does explain the ridiculous output and energy.” She said. Before Lance could connect the dots completely, she continued. “But what about this oath you mentioned?”
Lance nodded. “I swore to serve the dragon god and protect the balance of the world. It’s not about blind obedience, it’s more about responsibility. Then again, nothing is given for free. The dragons see themselves as guardians, and now I share that duty.”

Lia, who had been quiet, finally spoke as this part of the conversation hadn’t been hit on before, her voice soft but steady. “And you want to honor that responsibility here, don’t you?”
Lance met her gaze, a small smile playing on his lips. “I do. The dragons have given me so much, not just strength, but wisdom and a far greater purpose. I think it’s time we show our gratitude by building a temple dedicated to the dragon god here.”
Mira’s eyes lit up. “A temple could also serve as a place of learning and unity. It would remind everyone of the bond between us and the dragons.”
Kaeli crossed her arms, nodding. “It’s a good idea. And it’ll show the other races that we have powerful allies watching our backs. You can leave the construction to me. I’ll make sure it’s a masterpiece worthy of the dragon god. I’ll contact the dwarves right away.”
Lance’s heart swelled with pride as he looked at each of them. “Good, you’d be the best person to handle this anyway.”
The chiefs of the different races also agreed in good faith, as in some way, all of them had connections to dragons when tracing back their ancestry. There was no clarity if they were spawns of dragons, and that also seemed unlikely, but at some point in time, each of the races had revered the dragons enough to offer worship to them.
…
Later that day, Lia visited her thoughtful gaze following Lance as he stood by the window, staring out at the bustling city below. The soft light of the setting sun bathed the room in a golden hue, casting a warm glow over his figure.
“Lance,” she said softly, stepping closer after entering into his room.
He turned, a small smile on his lips. “Lia. Something on your mind?”
She hesitated, her hands clasped in front of her. “You’ve taken on so much. This kingdom, the dragons, the balance of the world… it’s a lot for one person to bear.”
Lance chuckled, his golden eyes meeting hers. “I’m not alone, Lia. I have all of you.”
Her cheeks flushed slightly, but she smiled. “And we’ll always be here for you. But even so, you need to take time for yourself.”
Before he could respond, she stepped closer, placing a hand on his chest. “Let me take care of you tonight.”
