Chapter 81: Shelly vs Selena…? I hope I don’t die…
At this point, Selena was creating a scene entirely of her own making.
“Why can’t I leave you alone for one second without worrying about someone trying to molest you? Why don’t you ever do anything about it?” she snapped, glaring at me with a mix of irritation and outright fury. I could practically feel the jealousy radiating off her like a suffocating heatwave.
“Calm down. It was just a normal, harmless hug,” I explained, trying to keep my voice steady. “She was just… ecstatic about my recovery. We were on the same team, after all.”
But she didn’t care about my explanation.
It seems she just didn’t want me anywhere near anything remotely female.
“I don’t care!” she hissed, her voice dropping dangerously low. “I want you to stop letting these mindless, horny dogs have their way with you! You weren’t even trying to resist! You were clearly enjoying it. Do you want to lay them off so badly?!”
Before I could respond, she grabbed my tie and yanked me closer, her knee pressing dangerously against my little bro.
Fuck.
I knew wearing a tie today was a bad idea.
Why is she so hot all of a sudden?
Why do I feel like she would’ve straight-up raped me right here if there weren’t people around?
“Listen carefully, Ryan,” she whispered, leaning in close to my ear. Her voice was laced with an eerie calm that sent a shiver down my spine. “I don’t say this often, but you should’ve realized by now—I love you. Not just love, though. It’s more than obsession, more than madness. It’s something deeper, something that’s driving me nuts. And when I see you with another woman…” Her hot breath tickled my ear, making my skin crawl.
Oh god.
She might actually do something, public be damned.
“…I get the urge to kill everyone and everything,” she finished softly, her voice so quiet it drowned out the world around me.
“I don’t want to hurt you, my dear. That’s why I control myself, no matter how much those urges try to drive me insane. Don’t push me. Don’t make me give in to them, Ryan. I swear, if you keep this up, I will do it. You’re avoiding me, letting these worthless bitches drool all over you like some spineless idiot. If you don’t stop, I’ll kill everyone in this institution, burn everything to the ground, and leave you in a world with no one but me. Do you want that? Do you?”
Her lips brushed mine in a fleeting kiss, leaving me stunned.
“No, ma’am,” I blurted instinctively, too terrified to say anything else.
She pulled back, a dangerous smile playing on her lips.
“Trust me when I say this: no one can stop me. Not the flimsy gods of this world, not some so-called destined hero—nothing. If I lose my mind and decide to kill every one of those bitches and every single being in this world, Just to keep you isolated, Just to keep you mine…”
Her lips curled into a smirk as she pressed a finger to my forehead. “I’ll do it.”
And with that, she let go of my tie and sat back, as if nothing had happened.
…I am scared.
What the fuck would happen if I suggested a breakup?
“You’re not very nice,” came a soft voice behind me.
I turned to see Shelly standing there, her usual smile absent. Her face was completely void of emotion.
Selena glanced at her, rolling her eyes in irritation. “…Fuck off, bitch,” she spat, waving a dismissive hand. “I don’t feel like wasting your worthless life today. Go seduce someone else.”
She dropped into the seat across from me as if nothing had happened.
At this point, I’d lost all my appetite.

For a moment, I forgot who Selena truly was in the novel—a mindless, sadistic psycho who killed without rhyme or reason. Seeing her act so docile whenever I patted her head made me forget the horrifying reality. It felt like I was sitting next to a ticking quantum bomb… if that’s even a thing.
“I don’t like it,” Shelly suddenly said, snapping me out of my thoughts. My attention shifted to her fully now.
What the hell are you saying, Shelly?
No, no, no. Don’t make this worse than it already is!
“Shelly, I think you should—” I tried to cut in, but before I could finish, her finger pressed firmly against my lips.
Oh, fuck me sideways.
I tilted my head, only to meet Selena’s widened eyes. There was no light in them at all.
“Shut up, idiot. Let me do the talking,” Shelly snapped at me with a glare before turning her full attention back to Selena.
“I hate it when you act like you own him,” she said, her voice calm but laced with venom. “You don’t. Just because you were fortunate enough to trap him in this toxic relationship doesn’t mean he’s your property. He has the right to talk to whoever he wants. Heck, he has the right to break off this relationship altogether. Stop acting so entitled, bitch. It’s getting on my nerves.”
I froze, staring at her with wide eyes.
Shelly?
What the actual fuck is happening right now?!
“Heh. Hehehehe,” Selena chuckled, her eyes narrowing as she casually stabbed a piece of meat with her fork and brought it to her mouth.
“Yes. I am a bitch,” Selena said, her tone unnervingly calm. “No, wait—scratch that. I’m the biggest bitch in existence.”
She smirked, chewing deliberately before continuing.
“I’ve done a lot of terrible things because of how selfish I can get when it comes to that idiot.”
Wait, what?
Why does everyone keep calling me an idiot?!
“Can you two, like, not call me an idio—” I tried to interject, but the glares they both shot me made me immediately shut up. Apparently, I wasn’t allowed to talk at this table.
Selena leaned back, still holding her fork like it was a weapon. Her eyes glinted with something darker than malice.
Selena didn’t even pause. “I could commit mass genocide, destroy entire civilizations, wipe multiple worlds off the map, anything if it has to do with him,” she said, twirling her fork idly.
Wait.
Why does this sound so familiar?
No. This entire conversation reeks of déjà vu. But… why can’t I remember?
“I. Don’t. Give. A. Fuck. Or. Two. If. That. Makes. Me. A. Bitch,” Selena enunciated each word slowly, her gaze locked on Shelly.
The atmosphere felt thick with tension.
“I don’t own him,” she continued, her voice dropping to a deadly calm. “He owns me.”
“What?”
Selena’s lips curled into a smile that wasn’t a smile at all—it was pure menace disguised as sweetness.
“I would never hurt him,” she said, twirling her fork absently in her hand, “but that doesn’t mean I’ll let him mess around with bitches like you.”
Her tone grew colder with every word.
“I’ll give you a little advice,” Selena continued, her expression unchanging. “From one bitch to an amateur—don’t touch my sore spot.”
Her smile stretched wider, and it wasn’t a smile at all.
“I can ignore anything—anything at all. A child dying before my eyes, a city burning to ashes? Don’t care. I was made this way, and I couldn’t give a damn if people hate me for it. But the moment you mess with the one thing I actually care about…”
She pointed her fork directly at me.
“…which is that idiot over there? You’re done.”
Oh, for the love of god.
“…I will let all hell loose,” Selena said with a grin, her eyes glinting dangerously.
“You don’t scare me,” Shelly replied, her voice steady.
Selena frowned at me, gesturing for me to eat with an oddly cute expression, a stark contrast to the tension in her words. “Do you know why I’m even bothering to explain all this to you?”
“…Why?” Shelly finally asked, her voice quieter this time.
“It’s because you’re the one person I’ve sensed who isn’t as selfish as I am,” Selena said, her tone suddenly softer but no less intense. “You actually care about him more than you care about yourself, and for that, I respect you. I can accept you as his friend. But anything more…” Her gaze sharpened, her grin vanishing. “…you’re touching my bottom line.”
“And what if I say I want to be more than just his friend?” Shelly shot back, tilting her chin defiantly. “What happens then?”
Selena smirked, leaning back in her chair. She picked up her fork and twirled it in the air, her eyes on me as if deep in thought. Finally, she spoke. “Do you love him?”
“W-what?” Shelly stammered, caught completely off guard. Her earlier bravado faltered as her face flushed red.
“I said, DO. YOU. LOVE. HIM?” Selena’s voice was calm but carried an edge that demanded an answer.
“I… I don’t know,” Shelly admitted after a long pause, her voice barely above a whisper.
Selena leaned forward, her expression unreadable. “A friend,” she said slowly. “That’s what you are right now. I’ll decide if I let you be more than that when you make up your mind.”
I stared at the two of them, utterly baffled. What the hell is going on? Why don’t I have a say in my own goddamn life?
Shelly clenched her fists. “Wait. I still don’t approve of the way you act like you own him,” she said, standing her ground even as Selena moved to rise from her chair.
Selena’s smile vanished completely. “Don’t push it, girl,” she warned, her voice icy now. “The only reason your head is still attached to your shoulders is because you’re the only one who spoke up for him out of genuine care. Not because of some selfish desire. That’s why I’m tolerating you—for now. But don’t think for a second that I won’t kill you if you annoy me any further.”
Selena then glanced at me, pouting as if I were a child asking for candy. “The other reason is that he’s giving me those weird pleading eyes.”
I was at a complete loss for words.
What the hell is wrong with these girls?
I just… I just can’t understand how girls think!
