The Primordial Record - Chapter 1566
Chapter 1566: Bahamut
The burns inflicted on this shell of the Primordial Beast had not healed, and its single eyes peered at Rowan with a calm detachment. But this was a facade.
Unlike before, when his perception was held back by the limited perception of an Old One like Revah Endirius, he could now see the deeper side of things, and underneath the calm demeanor was a monster screaming in rage and hunger.
He did not know how this Primordial Beast had been able to escape the fate of death and oblivion granted to the rest of his siblings, but this state he was in was one where he was always on the precipice of madness.
Rowan had not been able to perceive the beast by sight, but he could smell his hunger. It was a hunger that was hidden from the sight of most, yet it was familiar to Rowan because he had lived with this hunger for more than a million years, and unlike this Primordial Beast here, he had six bodies to contend with.
Holding him up with a single hand on the throat, Rowan began to apply force slowly; the rage that filled his heart and his desire to destroy were tearing at the gate of his sanity, and he was about to let loose.
The shell of this Primordial Beast clawed at his hand, but Rowan was here with his true dimensional flesh, and his body was not something that this eighth-dimensional shell called Endirius could resist despite the strength in his hands being significant enough to tear an average Old One to pieces.
Noticing that resistance was futile, Endirius stopped struggling and began to speak; although his mouth was moving and words were emerging from them, in the perception of Rowan, the place where his voice came from was not from this body, but was in the distance,
“I have no quarrel with you, Eulxhu Thyak… Why do you choose to steal from me like all the wretched Primes?”
Rowan sniffed, “I am taking back what was once mine, and you, more than most, should not call me a thief when you were among the first thieves to exist. Call this Karma. As the wheel turns, old things pass away, and new things are born from its ashes.”
“If that is your decision, then you shall suffer the consequences for it, for I shall….”
Rowan squeezed tighter, crushing the neck of the shell into powder and cutting off the words of Endirius, disgusted with his hypocrisy,
“spare me the lecture, Endirius; I know you are opening your mouth wide to devour me. Yet, with all your power, you come to me like a coward. This shell of yours does not suffice for battle or negotiation, and your continuous attempts with this facade accomplish nothing but prolong the inevitable.”
“Hahaha….. Even the King of the beasts hunts the lowest of prey with caution. I would have perished long ago if this were not the case.”
Rowan nodded, “Your discretion has its advantages, but you became too used to hunting like the rest of Reality, and you have forgotten what it is like to be a Primordial beast.”
“Eulxhu Thyak…. You have no right to tell me how to hunt.”
Rowan’s eyes turned to those of a serpent, and a small smile touched the corner of his lips. “I have every right. I declare a Blood Match.”
Releasing a bit of the weight inherent in his dimensional flesh, Rowan crushed the half of the body he held to nothing, and his gaze pierced through the darkness to examine the massive eye staring at him.
Entirely made from darkness, this eye had become the entirety of reality in this space, so it could be considered that he was looking at the eye but also inside the eye at the same time.
If he were an Old One, the second instance would be his fate. He would be inside the eye instead of outside of it.
“How do you know of the Sacrament of the Flesh? Have the Walls of Aegis Fallen? Are you the Herald ?”
“You ask too many questions when, in your heart, you already know the answers. I am your end; that is all you should know.” Rowan answered, and he attacked, knowing that the more he spoke, the greater his ignorance would be exposed. Certain things about the past he understood, while others had been hidden from sight.
His attack was simple: He spread his palms and slammed them together as if he were clapping.
The sound of that single clap could not be described. Merged with his Origin Land, the weight and size of his dimensional flesh were unfathomable. With his endless Essence and Ether, simply moving his body consumed so much power that it would break the mind of an Immortal to imagine the amount being consumed by Rowan at every moment.
Naturally, such a massive consumption of resources meant the power that Rowan could unleash with his flesh was unfathomable. This clap would crush Old Ones, but Rowan was not just a living dimension; he had bloodlines and techniques.
A massive shockwave erupted from his hand, and this space that would freeze Old One in place was shattered. A spark erupted between his palms, and that spark grew before exploding into a universe!
This was the first of many sparks because the collision of his palms created millions of sparks, which formed millions of universes. As Rowan spread out his hands, tens of millions of universes appeared in front of him.
Rowan’s heart made a single beat, and power filled all of these universes to the brim. Their entire lifespan, which should have lasted for an Era, was shrunk to a single second because this was how long this battle would last—a single second. Yet, to entities of their power, this second could last for a million years.
With the lifespan of all these universes made to burn bright, the radiance they gave out bloomed with such intensity that the darkness was shattered, and the true form of the Primordial Beast could not be hidden.
A horrifying roar of anger and surprise erupted from the Primordial Beast, and Rowan looked upon his foe,
“You are as ugly as your heart… Bahamut”
