Chapter 102: Chapter 102 Exchanging Points
“So, all you wanted me to do is not to eat with the villagers, hmm?!” Hera said without blinking.
Alice’s sobbing came to a sudden halt after Hera’s words. None of them expected Hera to just back down. They were anticipating a few more words from her after she tried to fight back, but they did not expect this response. As a result, none of them were able to say anything anymore.
“Since we’re done talking, we’re going to rest. We are tired,” Hera stated firmly as she flicked her long hair and climbed the stairs.
“B-but!” Alice attempted to say something, but she faltered when she saw Xavier’s cold stare fixed upon her.
After climbing the stairs, Zen stopped Hera before she could enter her room, with Xavier just behind them. “Hera, why didn’t you fight back and say a few more words? Didn’t you notice they’re targeting you?”
“I did,” Hera replied without hesitation.
Zen stiffened upon hearing her answer, and even Xavier narrowed his eyes, but before they could say anything, Hera continued. “I know they’re targeting me, and I was too tired to quarrel with them. It’s pointless to engage when their motives are selfish and short-lived. I simply don’t have the patience for it.” Hera shrugged her shoulders.
“But why did you agree?” Xavier asked.
“Well, that’s the easiest way,” Hera said with a mischievous smile. “So, when the villagers invite us to eat with them, we could just politely decline.”
Just seeing her smile, Zen and Xavier could already understand her intentions.
“Oh, I see,” Zen said, a smile spreading across his lips too.
“This is why I like talking to smart people,” Hera teased, striding back to her room to prepare for a shower before turning in for the night.
But little did Hera know, that this small conversation she had with Xavier and Zen was watched and followed by many people and was spread online. Now, many believe that she really is an angel spawn on earth. They believed that even though Hera sounded harsh, she could still act magnanimously and chose to be the bigger person by not quarreling with anyone even after she knew that she was being targeted.
This incident only bolstered Hera’s fan base, while portraying the other participants as narrow-minded and Alice as a two-faced woman. None of them foresaw this backlash, and their company’s PR department is struggling to contain the spreading issue on the internet.
Little did they know that UE (Universal Entertainment) was fueling the fire in all directions to support Hera and advocate for justice against the bullying she faced on the show. Who told them that Hera doesn’t have a backer? Even all the employees working in the Avery Consortium were in full-blown attack mode, spreading the narrative of Hera’s magnanimity and contradicting the portrayal made by the other participants.
Essentially, the actions of the participants that night backfired, resulting in the loss of many fans and facing heavy repercussions, particularly Alice, who initiated the conflict.
The following day, after waking up to the morning call, Hera, Zen, and Xavier exchanged their points with the director in front of the other participants, who watched Hera like a vulture.
“Director, since we haven’t exchanged our points yet, my team and I would like to exchange them for some ingredients,” Hera announced in front of everyone after the director delivered the same speech as yesterday morning.
“Alright, let me announce your points first,” the Director said, motioning for the crew to retrieve the list containing their points. Clearing his throat, he began, “For starters, Zen received 150 points for completing his task yesterday, Xavier received 150 points for completing his task, and Hera received 200 points for completing her tasks.”
Hera tilted her head to the side, a hint of confusion crossing her face at the Director’s words. Sensing her puzzlement, the Director clarified, “You did a great job completing the task of milking the cows with the villagers, and in the afternoon, you also joined them in cleaning the barn, a task the other participants did not undertake. Although Zen and Xavier also completed their allocated tasks, yours yesterday was deemed more challenging, hence the double points.”
“Director, don’t you think this is too much? Are you showing favoritism because Hera is beautiful?” Minerva said with gritted teeth, she was angry because she barely received 50 points after working in the field all morning and Hera received 200 points which only fueled her hatred and anger.
With her words, she insinuated that the director showed favoritism towards Hera which also states that he took a fancy to her, suggesting that Hera received preferential treatment and better points.
The Director caught on to her implications, which visibly angered him, causing his brows to furrow. “Miss Briley, if you failed to listen to the explanations earlier, I will repeat them for your comprehension,” he stated curtly, his tone hinting at frustration with Minerva’s apparent stupidity.
“First and foremost, each of you was assigned tasks based on your guides, leading to a variety of activities performed simultaneously. Some of you worked in the fields, and collected eggs in the chicken coop, among other tasks. However, these were not your sole responsibilities.”
He fixed Minerva with a sharp gaze, sending a shiver down her spine. “If I recall correctly, Miss Briley, your assigned task was in the field. You only assisted with weeding the plots but declined to participate in plowing and fertilizing with manure, citing concerns about dirtiness and potential damage to your hands and newly done manicure.”
The Director sneered mockingly in front of everyone, aiming not only at Minerva but also at anyone else with complaints. “Giving you 50 points is already generous, considering you didn’t contribute much in the field. Meanwhile, Hera not only learned to milk the cow but also didn’t hesitate to help the villagers clean the barn, which was full of COW SHIT. Now, tell me, where did I show favoritism?” He put emphasis on his last sentence with visible anger.
Anyone who was complaining shut their mouth because they could clearly see that the Director was angry and would not think twice to call them out as he did with Minerva.
Minerva was angry for being called out and embarrassed at the same time, she directed her gaze at Hera who was standing not so far away from her. “So, she earned all those points by getting her hands dirty with cow Shit and being covered in it? Seems fitting for a peasant’s task,” she spat out with clear disdain and mockery in her voice.
However, they were not the only ones present; nearby villagers overheard Minerva’s disdainful and offensive words. They felt deeply offended by her disrespectful remarks.
Hera couldn’t tolerate Minerva’s insulting words, not for herself, but for the dignity of the work and the hardworking people behind it. “Miss Briley, don’t belittle a respectable job without understanding its importance in our daily lives. It only reveals your ignorance and perhaps there’s nothing smellier than your mouth, filled with nothing but trash and filth. So, unless you want to further embarrass yourself, I suggest you keep it shut,” Hera retorted sharply, unfiltered.

Zen couldn’t stifle a chuckle at Hera’s retort, further embarrassing Minerva, whose face turned crimson with anger. The Director openly laughed at her, impressed by Hera’s quick wit, while the villagers, who had been listening in, couldn’t help but join in, their admiration for Hera only growing, which had been already quite high to begin with.
But Minerva can’t blame anyone else but herself because she brought it upon herself and even Alexi couldn’t bring himself to comfort her but Alice did, Alice comforted Minerva and coaxed her to not say anything anymore or else, Hera would find a way to embarrass her again. But this only amplified Minerva’s anger towards Hera.
“Since we have already given the points to all of you, you are free to use them however you want, and should you wish to exchange them, our staff is available to assist you in selecting your desired ingredients,” The Director broke the tension and proceeded with what was needed to do.
Hera, Zen, and Xavier wasted no time and promptly approached the nearest crew member to exchange their points, eager to begin preparing their breakfast.
