Chapter 109: Chapter 109 Fat One
As Hera approached, the barely breathing pheasant in her hand caught Bry’s attention. He dashed toward her, excitement lighting up his eyes. “Sister!!! You caught another fat one!!!!” he exclaimed.
It was only then that the others noticed the pheasant in Hera’s hand. The earlier distraction of her alluring visuals had captivated their attention, causing them to overlook what she had in her clothes or what she was carrying.
Now that they had the chance to examine them, Xavier carefully placed the eggs in the grass one by one before dusting off his clothes.
“Eggs too!!!” Bry exclaimed excitedly, his enthusiasm matching Xavier’s careful handling of the newfound treasures.
Hera walked closer as she chuckled. “I got lucky and came across this pheasant hiding in the bush.”
“Woah! You really have luck on your side ey?” Zen came forward as he observed their new ingredients. “Wouldn’t it only mean that we will not get hungry with you around?” He meant to be playful with what he said but somehow, it also felt like they were treating her as their sugar mommy.
“Wait, let me rephrase that…” Zen said nervously.
Hera responded with an equally playful tone as she chuckled, “I’ll happily provide for my babies,” aiming to ease any embarrassment Zen might have felt.
“Then, I’ll be your first,” Xavier interjected, his back facing the camera and the others while he was looking straight at Hera’s eyes, with a playful tone matching hers and Zen’s. However, his expression wasn’t as lighthearted; instead, he appeared quite serious. “Sugar baby…” he added with a hint of intensity in his voice.
Since Zen didn’t catch Xavier’s expression, he added lightheartedly, “Me too! I’d love to be your sugar baby.” Stepping forward, he struck a silly pose, trying to catch Hera’s eye and act cute.
Hera’s attention remained on Xavier, still caught off guard by his unexpected comment. She grappled with whether he meant it seriously or if was simply joking. However, she reminded herself they had only recently met and spent a few days together as a team, making it unlikely for genuine interest to develop so quickly.
So she smiles and matches up Zen’s energy and jokes around with them.
“No, you’re not qualified,” Xavier brushed off Zen’s comment with a playful smirk, sidling up next to Hera. His smile, though rare, carried a hint of seduction, almost as if he was subtly making a point to Zen.
[NorthernDuke: NO!!! You’re also not qualified!!!]
[GoldenLight: I’d happily be her sugar daddy, but I wouldn’t mind some pampering from Hera too! (.⌒∇⌒).]
[EntertainmentKing: You’re too young to think about that @SilverEmperor]
[Dave_Carson: Nice one, buddy! You’re becoming quite the charmer, huh?
(`・ω・´)ゞ]
[FatherOfCaduceus: @SilverEmperor don’t take it seriously, Miss Ainsley is just joking…]
[XavierisLife: @EntertainmentKing brother Xavier is now 24, he’s not that young though.]
[XavierismyHusband: I would gladly be your sugar mommy Xavier!!!!]
[AuntieNextDoor: Do you think, Xavier is being serious?]
[Xoxo: @AuntieNextDoor, I’m not entirely convinced. Didn’t some other celebrities mention that Variety Shows still stick to scripts sometimes? Maybe this was just scripted for more viewer engagement.]
[HeraismySister: @Xoxo, I disagree. Sister Hera is beautiful and capable, so it’s understandable if an equally capable man likes her. It’s cute, though, and I’d wish it were true because I really ship them. They look good together.]
[NorthernDuke: You haven’t seen enough of the world…]
Zen felt like choking from his own saliva because of Xavier’s comment, and he only made a point by standing beside Hera, almost telling his face that he has to be as handsome as Xavier to be considered which is close to impossible.
Xavier has an army of fans that no other celebrities worldwide have because of not only of his acting skills but primarily because of how handsome he looked, girls would be frugal in everything but not him. He believed that no one could be as equally as handsome as Xavier much less be better than him.
He somehow felt down and felt like a squid compared to Xavier. But honestly, he also felt attacked personally. Pouting in response to Xavier’s remarks, he cast a pleading glance at Hera, silently hoping for her support. However, her laughter indicated that she saw it all as harmless banter, leaving him feeling even more isolated.
Xavier couldn’t help but feel a twinge of annoyance at not being taken seriously, but he quickly brushed it aside, flashing a smirk in Zen’s direction.
“Why do I feel like he’s angry at me?” Zen wondered silently, scrutinizing Xavier’s expression for any hint of irritation. Unable to discern any, he dismissed the thought, assuming it was just his imagination.

After noticing that the water was boiling, Hera brought the hot water near the river and started pouring it over the dead pheasant, making it easier to remove its feathers.
“What do we do with that one?” Xavier asked, pointing toward the barely breathing pheasant that Hera had brought just moments ago.
Hera paused for a moment, contemplating what to do with the pheasant. She came to terms with the idea that it would be best to end its suffering swiftly rather than let it linger only to meet the same fate later.
“Do you think you can help me with…” Hera began, gesturing toward the task of slicing the bird’s neck to Xavier. However, her gesture came off more as cute than serious.
After letting out a soft chuckle, Xavier nodded and borrowed Hera’s tactical knife. He then moved a bit farther behind a tree, intending to handle the pheasant away from Hera and the camera to spare them from witnessing the bloody scene.
Hera appreciated the gesture. Despite her ability to hunt wild game, she found it difficult to personally slit an animal’s throat with her own hands. So, she preferred to avoid such tasks whenever possible.
It only took Xavier a few minutes to take care of the pheasant, and then he came back with a headless pheasant and gave it to Hera so she could also pull off its feathers along the one she held.
Hera raised her eyebrows at Xavier’s gesture upon seeing the headless pheasant. Sensing her concern, he offered an explanation, “You wouldn’t feel bad if you don’t look in its eyes.” Placing the bird gently in the grass beside Hera, he then rejoined the group.
Hera let out a soft chuckle as she watched Xavier move around. She understood that he might have misunderstood her request to handle the pheasant. Nonetheless, she found this part innocent and earnestly cute and endearing.
In just a few seconds, he was back, crouching beside Hera as he observed how she handled the pheasant’s feathers.
After seeing how she did it, Xavier also started pouring the now less hot water into the pheasant’s body that he just killed before he started pulling its feathers. At first, he was a little clumsy and every time he pulled, he wasn’t able to pull to its roots, leaving some broken end of the feathers because he used too much strength or he would pull the skin along with the feathers.
With practice, Xavier’s movements grew more fluid, and he quickly mastered the task. Surprisingly, he even outpaced Hera in processing the pheasant. Rather than passing it to her for gutting, he requested Hera’s guidance on removing the innards and where to make the necessary cuts.
Hera gladly instructed Xavier on where to make the incisions, how to extract the guts, and how to thoroughly clean the pheasant’s insides, all while she continued to pluck the feathers of the pheasant she held.
After understanding how to do it, Xavier quickly jumped into action without hesitation, and soon, he also finished his task and the pheasant was now clean, he even did not forget to remove the remaining ends of the feather roots that were stuck under the skin of the pheasant before giving it back to Hera.
