Chapter 165: Chapter 165 Victory Celebration 2
Aware of Leo and Xavier’s cleanliness preferences, Hera had prepared a towel for each of them. When wiping Xavier’s sweat, she discreetly used the towel hidden in her left pocket, and for Leo, she utilized the one in her right pocket. Sensing her thoughtfulness, Leo and Xavier appreciated the gesture and happily accepted her assistance while they worked in the kitchen.
They would even lean in closer to Hera, tilting their heads when they felt a bead of sweat about to trickle down their faces, signaling to Hera that they needed her assistance. When she obliged by wiping away the sweat, Leo and Xavier would smile appreciatively, their eyes forming crescents as they thanked her with genuine delight.
They kind of enjoyed that kind of pampering that they felt motivated to do more work around the kitchen so they would continuously sweat so Hera could help them again, so their silent competition started again, to see who among the two of them would get more work done and will get Hera to help them wipe their sweat.
The older women, watching the unfolding romantic moment among the younger ones, couldn’t help but exchange knowing looks and gentle nudges, trying to contain their excitement without bursting into squeals. The sight of Hera, Leo, and Xavier, all with their attractive appearances, only enhanced the allure of the scene, making it feel like a captivating drama playing out before their eyes.
On the other hand, Hera shook her head in playful defeat. It seemed like she spent more time tending to Leo and Xavier’s sweat than actually cooking. They behaved like playful kids, constantly running to her for water breaks or a quick wipe-down, each trying to outdo the other. Their competitiveness was endearing in its childishness, and Hera couldn’t help but find it cute despite the distraction it caused from her cooking duties.
Besides, she couldn’t bring herself to scold them for their antics, considering it was helping out in the kitchen and adding some entertainment to the room, which everyone seemed to be enjoying, herself included. After all, who could deny the pleasure of sneaking glances at Leo and Xavier’s well-defined body outlines, their shirts now clinging to them from the sweat?
Hera couldn’t help but openly admire Leo and Xavier’s physique, their well-defined abdominal and pectoral muscles exuding a natural sexiness. Their physique wasn’t the exaggerated result of excessive bodybuilding; rather, it seemed to stem from a balanced regimen of lifting and martial arts, harmonizing their muscle tone throughout their bodies.
After Leo and Xavier assisted in moving the large pot of rice from the stove to the center table, Leo felt the warmth emanating from the pot. Subconsciously, he lifted his shirt, gently pulling it up and down to allow the cool air to circulate around his body, providing relief from the heat.
But little did he know that he was not the only one feeling hot, as Hera watched them bustling about, she couldn’t help but notice Leo’s movements. Unintentionally, she caught a glimpse of his glistening abdominal muscles, and his trousers hung so low that she could see his alluring V-line. With her heart skipping a beat, Hera found herself blushing, realizing that just a few inches lower, she might have caught a full view of what lay beneath.
Without realizing it, Hera found herself biting her lower lip while holding her breath, her gaze fixated below. She couldn’t tear her eyes away, feeling an irresistible draw toward what lay beneath that trouser that was threatening to show. It was as if with each passing moment, the fabric of Leo’s trousers might give way, revealing what was hidden it.
She heard Leo’s captivating chuckle just above her, drawing her attention upward. “Hera, eyes up here,” he teased, gently pinching her chin to lift it, his blue orbs gleaming with mischief. His lips curved into a teasing smirk as he met her gaze, finding her eyes still clouded with suggestive thoughts. Leo’s own breath caught, his heart skipping a beat at what he saw reflected in Hera’s gaze.
It felt as though Hera was extending an invitation with the way she looked at him, and Leo was teetering on the edge of giving in to the impulses urging him to seize the moment, to take her right there and then. His gaze darkened ominously, his throat growing dry with desire. Beneath the surface, a surge of heat coursed through him, stirring a familiar sensation in the pit of his stomach and awakening a primal urge lower down.
He shut his eyes, attempting to steady his breathing and compose his scattered thoughts. Meanwhile, Xavier couldn’t help but sense the thickening tension between them, not in a negative sense, but rather in a suggestive, almost lustful manner. Feeling compelled to intervene, he decisively grabbed Leo’s arm and pulled him away, breaking the spell that had begun to envelop them.
“Let’s go, we’ve got plenty to carry over there,” Xavier interjected firmly, his tone and actions betraying a hint of irritation as he swiftly ushered Leo away without waiting for a response.
Hera snapped out of her trance as she watched Xavier pull Leo away, feeling her cheeks flush with embarrassment. She was startled by the risqué thoughts that had crossed her mind, a revelation that caught her off guard.
‘What was I supposed to do? He was just so… irresistible,’ Hera mentally exclaimed, her heart still racing as embarrassment flooded her. Not only had Leo caught her ogling his physique, but he had also teased her about it, leaving her feeling utterly mortified. ‘That was beyond embarrassing.’
‘But I can’t deny, he’s certainly a sight to behold,’ Hera admitted to herself, unable to shake off the allure of Leo’s physique and his beauty. “No wonder Athena has an eye for good-looking individuals.” She cleared her throat, feeling a blush creeping up her cheeks as she realized her thoughts were drifting into indecent territory. Nervously, she rubbed the tip of her nose, attempting to calm her racing nerves.
As soon as Leo and Xavier left, Hera found herself surrounded by the gossip-hungry aunties, bombarding her with questions. Their keen eyes hadn’t missed the subtle interplay between Hera and Leo, and now they watched in silent anticipation, holding their breath so as not to disrupt the unfolding drama before their very eyes.
They found the scene more exhilarating than anything they’d witnessed on television dramas. The palpable chemistry between Leo and Hera had them on the edge of their seats, itching to squeal like excited teenagers as the two engaged in their suggestive playful antics earlier.
“Girl, you should’ve pounced on him. Back in my day, I never let a good opportunity slip by. In the kitchen, at the dining table—you name it!” Aunt Sabby nudged Hera’s shoulder, a playful reminder that she missed a chance to snag a boyfriend, especially now that she was single and ready to mingle.
Hera was beyond speechless because most elders would even tell her off and teach her how to act demure and have more self-respect if she even looked at a man a little seductively, but Aunt Sabby was teaching her the opposite and was not even holding back in front of the camera. She felt her face grow even hotter, especially when her mind almost instantly imagined what Aunt Sabby was describing, she imagined herself doing that to Leo.
The older ladies couldn’t help but notice Hera’s crimson cheeks and the subtle yet not-so-subtle reactions playing out on her face. Their laughter erupted, amused by her innocent yet not-so-innocent reactions. What struck them was her lack of denial or attempts to appear demure. Instead, she openly showed her embarrassment, her expression unwittingly confirming where her thoughts had wandered.
The older ladies cackled among themselves, relishing the opportunity to tease Hera. When Leo and Xavier returned to the kitchen, bearing the game that Zen and the others had cleaned outside, Hera found herself unable to meet Leo’s gaze, too embarrassed by the recent exchange to look him in the eye.
As Hera focused on her cooking, Leo couldn’t help but notice her flustered state, and it brought a delighted twinkle to his eyes. Seeing her react in such a way was a clear indication that he wasn’t a lost cause and that Hera held some level of attraction toward him. With this realization fueling his determination, Leo resolved to put in even more effort to win her affection. The feeling was akin to savoring sweet honey, and he couldn’t help but feel that staying in the village had been the best decision he’d ever made. With a radiant smile, he beamed from ear to ear, filled with hope and anticipation for what the future might hold for him.
Xavier’s lips tightened further into a thin line as he observed Leo’s radiant smile. Like Aunt Sabby and the others, he had witnessed the subtle exchange between Leo and Hera just before he intervened. It dawned on him that he had been slow to recognize Hera’s attraction to Leo, inadvertently affording Leo the opportunity to draw closer to her. The realization settled heavily on him, leaving him feeling as slow as a turtle and as dense as a pig for not grasping the situation sooner.
