Chapter 291: Chapter 291 Kiddnapping
Before Hera took action, she subtly gestured to her bodyguards not to intervene, ensuring no one came to her rescue during the incident. Instead, she instructed them to film and broadcast the entire ordeal online. It started with a live stream in the campus forum and once it gained traction, they shifted to social media to ensure a wide audience, aiming to have numerous witnesses to the events.
They boldly tagged Hera’s official account, ensuring her fans were immediately notified of the campus parking lot gossip. One of the bodyguards even crafted a compelling title to pique the curiosity of passersby, drawing attention to the unfolding events.

Minerva, without access to any of her gadgets, couldn’t counter the trolls trying to twist the situation. Rafael, on the other hand, eagerly fanned the flames while watching the live stream on his phone as he headed to the campus. The stream had been running for a while, alerting all six of them who were now racing to reach her first.
Xavier, tied overseas, could only watch the unfolding drama through his phone, fists clenched in frustration.
“Hera, please, let me explain!” Alexi tugged at Hera’s arm, attempting to pull her away from the crowd for a private conversation, but his knees were weak and his body ached from being thrown over Hera’s shoulder and hitting the hard ground. “Let’s talk this out, okay?”
Despite Alexi’s pitiful and regretful appearance, his subtle movements and expressions hinted at a simmering rage. Anyone observing closely could see his clenched fists and tightening grip on Hera’s arm, making it difficult for her to break free.
But Hera also took the time to calm herself and not be overly emotional because her grievances were mixing with her acting and she was afraid that it would consume her and she would forget her objective.
“Alexi, let’s go our separate ways. I’m done, completely done with this relationship and I’ve long given up on you,” Hera said between choked sobs. Her tear-stained face and sorrowful voice overshadowed Alexi’s attempts to appear pitiful, hoping to sway Hera’s emotions even slightly. He hoped his display would elicit sympathy from bystanders and convince Hera to reconsider, pleading for another chance.
He aimed to emotionally manipulate her, using the crowd’s sway to influence her emotions and decision-making. If she agreed, he planned to ensure she couldn’t leave him, possibly even confining her in his own home to prevent her escape. He was willing to clip her wings and keep her in a gilded cage if necessary to ensure she stayed by his side.
But he had underestimated Hera’s own acting abilities and her adeptness at controlling her emotions. Amidst her tear-streaked face and choked sobs, Alexi couldn’t discern whether her words were genuine. Hearing her repeatedly declare their relationship over, Alexi grabbed her arm, hoping to draw her closer and perhaps reignite her feelings. He refused to believe that Hera would so easily walk away from their relationship over a mere setback.
He had always heard his mother’s words about men struggling with loyalty, unable to keep their desires in check, and often seeking satisfaction outside their marriages. Yet, she also emphasized that despite these temptations, men ultimately return to their families, viewing outside relationships as mere indulgences rather than fulfilling their true needs.
He always justified his actions, believing that he knew who he truly wanted to be with for life, viewing their current challenges as mere bumps in the road. However, he never paused to consider Hera’s perspective. Sure that was her mother’s words but she also did not specify that his father was a scumbag and she was just staying in her dysfunctional marriage because she was afraid to leave.
She wasn’t trying to preserve her family’s unity because, frankly, their family dynamic seemed far from healthy. They resembled vultures and opportunists, always exploiting others while enjoying the fruits of their labor, much like Alexi did with Minerva’s wealth and influence to advance his own status. Clearly, what he had wasn’t enough for him.
He clearly desired more, and the troubling part was, that he showed no remorse for causing others pain—a realization Hera had also come to. This realization strengthened Hera’s resolve to end Alexi’s delusions and put an end to his harmful actions.
Hera stared at Alexi with all seriousness before she delivered her final blow. “Alexi, the moment you decided to stick your dick in someone else’s cunt while you are in a relationship with me, and let’s not forget me slaving away to support your dream, then and there, our relationship has ended and I made sure to tell you beforehand that I do not tolerate cheating. And clearly, our values are two worlds apart. The trust I have for you has already shattered to million pieces and even if I tried to mend it, it will never be the same and I’m sure that paranoia would only eat me alive thinking what you are doing while outside.”
“And maybe you didn’t sit down and think what effect this might bring me because if you did, you wouldn’t have tried to cheat on me. And clearly, you didn’t love me enough because you still fell into temptation. Alexi, cheating wasn’t a mistake, it was a choice so it can’t be used as an excuse.” Hera weakly shook her head before she pulled Alexi’s finger one by one to free her arm.
Alexi heard a deafening silence in his ear, and at that moment, the reality of losing Hera struck him hard. He realized he no longer held sway over their relationship or her decisions. Flustered, he had always assumed Hera would align with his perspective once he explained his desires. He had grown accustomed to her unwavering support for his dreams, only now realizing he had taken her for granted, assuming she would always understand and stand by him.
Disliking the direction the conversation was taking, he refused to hear any more from her. Gritting his teeth through the pain coursing through his body, he summoned all his strength to sling Hera over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and swiftly carried her away.
The bystander was all caught off guard, their hearts all went to Hera and understood her logic and even they too felt the same way. Who would like a cheater? But since they are too invested in their emotions while watching the gossip, they don’t expect Alexi to resort to such a tactic and carry Hera away.
No one reacted faster than Alexi, catching everyone off guard with his unexpected action. Even Hera was taken aback, knowing Alexi’s tendency to freeze when upset or conflicted. She had planned to turn away after delivering her message to sever all ties with him, not expecting him to act so decisively.
And then, she could use this incident to present more of the evidence she had gathered against Alexi and, of course, Minerva as well. ‘Wasn’t this kidnapping?’ Hera thought as she struggled to regain her bearings.
“Hey man, put her down!!!” shouted a bystander who had regained his composure, moving behind Alexi in an attempt to reason with him. Instead, Alexi violently kicked the bystander, causing him to crash into another man who was trying to approach from behind.
