Chapter 304: Chapter 304 Dethrone the Campus Bell
Hera enjoyed a truly satisfying breakfast. Although the dishes seemed simple, Hannah used the finest ingredients, many of which were flown in from Korea overnight to ensure freshness, as local options were limited. The spices were also imported from Korea, and the kimchi came from a traditional family known for their expertly fermented kimchi.
Unlike her father’s sophisticated and elegant cooking, Hannah’s meals were homey and warm. However, she occasionally added unique elements to spice things up.
“Thank you for the meal, Hannah. It was fantastic,” Hera said, rubbing her belly slightly before taking a sip of water and standing up from her seat.
“Are you having dinner here, Young Miss?” Hannah asked as she hurried from the kitchen to the dining table where Hera was standing.
“I’m not sure yet, Hannah, but I’ll let Cindy know whether I’ll be having dinner at home,” Hera replied with a grateful smile.
“How about I cook something for you and have Amy deliver it? I can also prepare a portion for Daisy, so she won’t need to go out for takeout,” Hannah suggested, her nerves making her hands feel clammy as she awaited Hera’s response.
“That sounds great, Hannah! Thank you for all your hard work,” Hera said with a bright smile, patting Hannah on the shoulder. Glancing at the wall clock, she stiffened slightly; she had enjoyed her breakfast so much that she hadn’t noticed the time. With only 20 minutes left before her first class, Hera quickly dashed outside to catch the elevator.
“Young Miss, your car keys!” Cindy called out, running after Hera as she hurried in high heels, looking like she was in a marathon.
Realizing she hadn’t grabbed her car keys, Hera sprinted back to Cindy, snatched the key to the Bugatti La Voiture Noire, and raced out of her penthouse toward the elevator without looking back. At least she had her bag, car key, and phone—what more could she need? With that thought, she focused solely on running.
Upon reaching her car, she revved the engine a few times before speeding out of the parking lot. Once on the road, she blew through red lights, getting caught by traffic cameras and accumulating several tickets in the process.
The convoy trailing behind Hera also ignored traffic rules, making it look like a scene from a “Fast and Furious” movie. Hera’s car even drifted a few times as she took sharp turns at intersections, closely followed by a fleet of black SUVs. Onlookers were mesmerized by the impressive line of vehicles, which resembled a presidential motorcade. To top it off, the lead car was a limited edition model, adding to the spectacle.
Focused on her driving and in a hurry, Hera didn’t notice how many cars were trailing behind her. She had expected just 2-3 bodyguard vehicles, with a maximum of 5 in total, but it turned out that around 20 cars were following her, making it resemble a grand procession.
In the age of the internet, people’s first reaction was to film the spectacle and share it on social media. Once uploaded, the footage quickly garnered significant attention. Many speculated that it must be a movie shoot, marveling at the grandeur of the procession.
The person responsible for the commotion was still flustered, running around the campus after hastily parking her car in the designated lot. Before she dashed out, she took one last glance to ensure she hadn’t damaged her car or any others. Unfortunately, her classroom was far from the parking lot, so she ended up sprinting like she was in a marathon, all while wearing high heels.
Her skirt and hair were flowing in the wind as she raced down the hallway. Students walking by couldn’t help but turn and look, seeing Hera in a frantic dash. Some wondered whether to laugh at her endearing struggle or feel sympathy for her obvious rush. In the end, they simply watched her run, captivated by the scene.
“Why does everyone admire her so much and get mesmerized by her beauty when you’re just as beautiful?” one girl murmured, watching Hera’s back as she continued to run. “She doesn’t even act as elegantly or sophisticatedly as you do.”
“Let it be. It doesn’t affect my life, does it?”
The woman who had started the conversation finally tore her eyes away from Hera’s retreating figure and turned to the beautiful woman beside her. With mesmerizing aquamarine eyes that resembled a mermaid’s and naturally flaming red hair, she found Alice to be both stunning and unique. “Look at you, still worrying about others. You truly are such an angel, Alice.”
The girl on Alice’s other side chimed in, “Exactly! Why was she chosen as the campus bell and not you? Maybe the voting hasn’t even started yet, since you’re new to the university and she’s been here for two years.”
“And wouldn’t the title of Campus Bell benefit your career in the entertainment industry? It could serve as a great publicity boost. So, it has everything to do with you.”
“I agree with her. We need to rally the entire student body to establish a new Campus Bell and crown you as queen. This is your chance to catch the eye of the university’s directors and potential sponsors who could support your career. With so many artists in your company, making a significant move is crucial; otherwise, you risk being overshadowed by better-supported stars.”
“But it only happened because I made so many mistakes in the Variety Show I recently participated in,” Alice said regretfully, her voice trembling and her eyes welling up with tears. Her pitiful demeanor made the two girls with her even more flustered and sympathetic.
“Wasn’t it because of that girl from earlier? She’s the one at fault for everything that happened. She bullied you and had Xavier backing her, which made her so brazen. It’s only fair that she gives up the title of Campus Bell, and we can use that opportunity for your publicity. Since she gained attention and fame by stepping on you while riding Xavier’s coattails, it’s only natural that we leverage her name to attract more attention for you.”
Alice looked at the girl who spoke, her eyes widening with a mixture of surprise and hope. “What do you mean?”
“We’ll take the Campus Bell title from her and publicize it both on campus and on social media, highlighting how the previous Campus Bell was dethroned by a freshman’s beauty. We’ll show side-by-side pictures of you and her, encouraging others to vote for you while subtly mocking her. We might even manage to attract some of her fans,” she said with a malicious smile, her eyes darkening as she thought of Hera’s stunning face.
“But she already has a solid fan base that’s expertly managed,” Alice added hesitantly.
“That fan base might not be as genuine as it seems. For all we know, her sponsor could be paying for those so-called fans, with many of them being paid followers rather than true admirers,” one of the girls suggested, insinuating that Hera’s fame and supporters might be bought. “Just agree with our plan. We’ll handle everything—your only job will be to stay pretty and relax.”
