Chapter 356: Chapter 356 Sienna Lennon
Hera was unsure how she ended up in the situation, but before she knew it, she had already pulled out her phone and texted Cindy to arrange for the manager to come and meet her in person.
Cindy’s reply was almost instantaneous. By the time Hera realized what had happened, it was already too late—Cindy had promptly contacted the manager as soon as she confirmed receipt of the request.
This was the first time Hera would truly leverage her privilege and position, from her early years up until she took over the Consortium. Her heart raced with a mix of anticipation, worry, and excitement. The swirling emotions troubled her, as she was unaccustomed to wielding such privilege.
But, hey! Hera had a streak of pettiness in her, so once she decided to embrace it, her worries faded. She brushed off her concerns and waited patiently. Everyone assumed they were waiting for Gael’s assigned assistant to guide them, and no one made a sound. Meanwhile, the girl scrutinized them with a look that said they were merely pests trying to sneak their way in. She watched with a sense of satisfaction, ready to stoke the flames of their embarrassment and put them in their place.
Even Gael struggled to keep his temper in check, not wanting to further tarnish the fragile respect Hera had for him or damage the modestly positive image he had managed to maintain in her eyes. Controlling his frustration was proving to be far more difficult than facing off with his brothers.
Gael gritted his teeth in frustration, his eyes fluttering as he tried to recite a calming mantra to keep his anger in check. The girl, however, seemed to revel in his discomfort, and clearly intent on embarrassing Hera even further.
“Is that silver membership card giving you the guts to flaunt it here?” she said, twirling her platinum card between her fingers with a smirk. Her eyes flicked from Gael to Hera, who remained unperturbed.
Hera couldn’t understand why the girl was targeting her, especially since she didn’t remember doing anything to provoke such hostility.
Gael’s voice was laced with scorn as he addressed Sienna. “What are you bitching about so early in the morning, Sienna Lennon? Or was it because of the lies you said about the Everett’s only heir being head over heels in love with you and kept sending you gifts but turns out, it was just his mother keeping the peace between the two families? But well, I guess, even I would be cranky if the one who almost became my fiance turned out to be into another woman and the engagement between the family didn’t even happen.” His grin widened as he watched Sienna’s smug facade crack, her face contorting with fury.
“Unfortunately, you weren’t as desirable as you made yourself out to be. Even when you went to the Everett Patriarch to complain about their heir, you were met with only half-hearted nods and sent away. Is that slap you received still stinging so much that you’re here looking for an easy target to vent your frustration on? It seems you’re just lashing out because the man you so desperately wanted to marry didn’t want you.” Gael’s fiery words cut through the air, his sharp tongue showing no favoritism between genders.
Hera had to stifle a laugh as she recalled Athena while listening to Gael’s trash talk. Athena was just like this—blunt, unfiltered, and completely indifferent to the other person’s feelings when she decided to stand her ground.
Hera also realized why the girl was targeting her. Sienna Lennon, the supposed fiancée of Zhane Everett, was one of the minor villainess in the novel, acting as a stumbling block for Alice when she started dating Zhane and the other male leads. It was surprising to encounter her here, of all places.
Sienna was just like any other socialite, reveling in social gatherings with women of her standing—tea parties, banquets, sports, and charity events. They had a packed schedule of activities, and equestrian events were among the frequent occasions where they connected with friends.
Based on Gael’s comments, it seems Sienna’s engagement with Zhane must have fallen through, just as it did in the novel. However, instead of being due to Alice, it appears to be Hera who is the cause this time. Sienna likely saw the trending posts online featuring Hera with Zhane, which have sparked a frenzy among fans. Zhane, being a well-known figure who is not only handsome but also talented and intelligent, has only fueled this growing ship.
So, now it all makes sense. Sienna must have recognized who Hera was and immediately began targeting her. Knowing that Hera wasn’t born into wealth like she was, Sienna felt emboldened to vent her frustrations and humiliate Hera as much as possible.
She’s not even worried about what might happen if Hera told Zhane—that’s how confident and arrogant she is, just like her older brother. Yes, her brother is Tyler Lennon, and they’re two peas in a pod, alike in every way.
But what she didn’t expect was Gael stepping up to defend Hera, even when it wasn’t convenient for him. Sienna looked like someone had stepped on her tail, beyond enraged. Her brows knitted tightly, and her jaw clenched in fury.
“Hey, you!” Sienna snapped, pointing at the receptionist who was assisting Hera and the others. “Yes, you! Get these country bumpkins out of here! This racecourse doesn’t welcome such lowly people!” She stood up, furiously pointing at Hera and Gael, demanding the receptionist call security to throw them out as if she owned the place.
Since she couldn’t win the verbal sparring, Sienna decided to resort to having them thrown out. With more people on Hera’s side and Gael’s sharper tongue, she realized that continuing the confrontation would only humiliate her further, so she sought to remove them before the situation got worse.
She didn’t want her friends to hear what Gael said, fearing it would not only make her a laughingstock within their circle but also leave her with no face to show if the truth about the Everett situation became widely known. She couldn’t figure out how Gael had learned of such information, but she was desperate to keep it from spreading.
She had actually been meeting with her friends to leverage their family names and influence to pressure the Everetts into pushing Zhane to marry her. While it sounded ambitious, even far-fetched, she was determined to explore every possible avenue to secure a marriage with the Everett family—that was all that mattered to her.
Now that another woman was in the picture, she felt even more flustered and desperate to make this happen as quickly as possible.
“Who dares?!!!” A voice thundered from behind Sienna, causing her to jump in surprise as the roar echoed through the lobby, reverberating off the walls.
Hera and the others turned to the door, where a middle-aged man of average build and height entered with brisk strides. He was sweating profusely and breathing heavily, but the anger on his face was unmistakable as he glared at Sienna. “Ms. Lennon, it seems you’ve forgotten that this place is owned by the Avery family, not the Lennons. Who are you to chase my guests out?!” he roared, his eyes bloodshot, fists clenched so tightly it seemed he might lash out at Sienna at any moment.
