Chapter 364: Chapter 364 You’re Here?
The manager led Hera and the group to his most prized horse in the stable—a striking black-and-white warhorse with a glossy coat and powerful build. Its muscular legs and commanding presence set it apart, and it stood noticeably taller than the other horses. Hera was instantly captivated by the horse’s strength and beauty, falling in love with it at first sight.
She couldn’t hide her desire to ride the horse, and the manager quickly noticed her reaction. With a knowing smile, he offered, “Miss Hera, would you like to give it a try?”
Before she could respond, Bry proudly chimed in, arms on his hips and chest puffed up. “Sir, you should know—Sister Hera is a champion rider! She led our Diamond to victory in the recent national equestrian championship!”
“Of course!” the manager replied, though he didn’t react to Bry’s boast the way Bry had expected. Feeling a bit deflated, Bry sensed he wasn’t being taken seriously. But what he didn’t know was that the manager had a gleam in his eyes. He was well aware of Hera’s talent in equestrian, having witnessed her ride her first horse as a young girl.
The horse standing before Hera was the offspring of the very horse she had ridden in her youth. The manager had poured his heart and soul into raising this horse, ensuring it grew up strong, fast, and capable, all in the hope that it would meet Hera’s expectations when she eventually returned to the racecourse.
That’s why he was more excited than anyone else to see Hera admiring the horse he had personally groomed with such sparkling eyes. After Hera’s parents passed away, her grandfather tightened security around her identity, ensuring she remained well-hidden and distanced from any establishment linked to the Avery family. This made moments like these rare and even more significant.
That’s why her part-time job options were extremely limited, forcing her to work only with smaller companies. As a result, no one from their social circle had truly seen or gotten to know Hera. The young masters from wealthy families were too preoccupied with their own lives and paid no attention to people like Hera, whom they considered insignificant. They were only concerned with the affairs of their circle when it involved money.
Although they would occasionally hear rumors about the Avery family, they only knew of the false Avery heiress and had never seen Hera, so they couldn’t connect the dots. Now that Hera was gradually reclaiming her rightful position, the manager felt a surge of excitement. He was eager to assist her and bring her happiness, knowing full well how much she had suffered outside the Avery family’s protection.
The manager eagerly encouraged Hera to take the horse for a run. Before she knew it, she was standing outside the race track, mounted on the horse she had just been admiring, with a stable master guiding her toward the starting line. Meanwhile, Bry, his father, and the manager sat on the nearby deck, watching her with anticipation.
Hera couldn’t decide whether to laugh or cry, overwhelmed by their enthusiasm, which seemed to far surpass her own. Glancing back at the deck, she saw Bry leaning over the fence, waving excitedly at her. His expression was the same as when he watched her ride Diamond in the village—full of joy and admiration.
The familiar scene brought a nostalgic smile to Hera’s face. She gently urged the horse into a slow gallop, taking her time to get a feel for its temperament. As she became more in sync with the horse, a spark of excitement surged through her, and she felt the urge to speed up and feel the wind rush past her.
“Giddyup—”
“Hera?”
“Sweetheart?” came the voices, interrupting her focus.
Before Hera could fully encourage her horse to pick up speed, she heard someone call her name. The familiar voices prompted her to turn her head instinctively. She pulled the reins to the right, guiding the horse to turn as well. The horse’s hooves slowed to a gentle trot as two other horses came to a halt just behind her.
“Zhane? Dave? You’re here too?!” Hera murmured, her surprise evident. The two were clad in their riding suits and atop majestic horses, looking so strikingly handsome that it was as if they had stepped out of a commercial.
Zhane’s horse was a reddish-black Thoroughbred, its coat shimmering in the sunlight with a rich blend of colors that changed as it moved. Dave rode a reddish-brown Hanoverian, its muscular build and height adding to its imposing presence. Both horses were stunning and impressive, matching the strength and elegance of Hera’s own Oldenburg horse.
Zhane’s riding suit featured a sophisticated blend of green and brown with intricate silver embroidery, reflecting his elegant and composed demeanor. In contrast, Dave’s outfit was a bold maroon and black with striking gold accents, making him look like a prince from a fairy tale. However, his charming appearance quickly faded as he opened his mouth and began to act shamelessly upon seeing Hera.
“Sweetheart, I missed you so much!” Dave exclaimed as he hurried over to Hera, overtaking Zhane’s horse as if fearing that Zhane might reach her first. Behind them, a group of men and women of various ages followed, including Sienna and the Korean Dignitary Hera had previously seen at the restaurant with Dave and Rafael.
Hera noticed Sienna scowling at her, and another woman in the group gave her a similarly hostile look. The two exchanged a glance, whispered to each other, and then regarded Hera as if they had just encountered a common enemy.
Dave and Zhane seemed oblivious to the hostile women, brushing them off as they approached Hera. Before she knew it, she was flanked by them—Dave on her right and Zhane on her left. As Dave closed the distance, he reached out to touch Hera’s face, letting out a contented sigh before smirking at her.
“I missed you, baby,” Dave repeated, not receiving a response the first time. Hera was at a loss for how to react, as many onlookers watched them. Dave’s lack of discretion with his affectionate gesture seemed deliberate as if he was intentionally showcasing his claim over her to everyone around.
Eventually, Zhane couldn’t bear it any longer and reached out to hold Hera’s hand. “How have you been lately?”
Hera couldn’t help but chuckle. “It hasn’t been that long since we last saw each other.”
“What can I say? Dave’s idiocy must be contagious,” Zhane teased, rubbing the back of Hera’s hand with a thoughtful smile, as if he genuinely missed her and hadn’t seen her for ages like an old couple reunited.
“What the fuck, Zhane?! What are you attacking me for?” Dave exclaimed, clearly stung by Zhane’s public jab. He turned to Hera, trying to play the sympathy card, but his clumsy lunge nearly toppled him off his horse, causing Hera to burst into laughter. Zhane’s disdainful chuckle followed, as if to say, ‘See? You just proved my point.’

PS: Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask who added Dave’s Character Personality as “Sufferer of Foot-in-mouth disease” and “Cunning Airhead”? This made me laugh my ass off and just couldn’t move on from it. Please, whoever you are, step up. I commend you for your witty remarks. (✾⪰∇⪯)
