Chapter 394: Chapter 394 Leo Getting Bald
She added, “If you don’t believe me, you can call her directly—I exchanged numbers with her.”
“Y-you mean the celebrity Hera? That stunning woman?” her mother asked skeptically, her disbelief evident. It was almost inconceivable to her that her daughter could have any connection to someone so famous, as if getting close to a celebrity like that was a once-in-a-lifetime chance.
The girl nodded furiously in response to her mother’s question, her eyes fixed anxiously on the leather belt in her mother’s hand, fearing it might strike her at any moment. Seeing her daughter’s genuine fear and frantic nodding, the mother was forced to accept the truth, despite her disbelief.
The idea of her daughter being connected to someone like Hera was almost too extraordinary to accept—she would have found it easier to believe her daughter was involved with a wealthy old man than to accept this astonishing revelation.
If the girl could hear her mother’s thoughts, she might not know whether to laugh or cry. Her mother’s lack of faith in her and the disbelief in her good fortune were evident. Did her mother not realize how incredibly lucky she was?
If she weren’t so fortunate, would a random stranger on the internet have given her a million dollars just for a simple compliment? Or would she have had the chance to meet her idol, ride in her car, and dine with her? The girl’s good fortune was beyond anything she could have imagined, and she wished her mother could see that.
All these experiences were the stuff of dreams for most people, nearly unattainable—but here she was, living that dream, and yet her mother refused to believe it. She wanted to run back to her room, but her mother blocked the way, leaving her with no choice but to plead. Her tearful, pleading eyes were ineffective; her mother had grown immune to such displays and was resolute. The girl could only stand there, paralyzed by fear and frustration while her mother interrogated her.
After dropping the girl off in front of her house and watching her go inside, Hera drove straight to the UE office. As she arrived, Daisy was already waiting at the entrance, her face beaming with a cheerful smile as she stood at attention.
As soon as Hera stepped out of her car, Daisy greeted her warmly, “Sister Hera, you’re here!” Hera handed Daisy her car keys with a smile, letting her take the car to park while she made her way to the training room, where her first instructor was waiting for her.
To her surprise, Betty and two other instructors were waiting inside the training room. Hera had expected them to leave once her training began, but instead, they remained seated in the corner, observing her every move. The intensity of their scrutiny added a layer of pressure, making her acutely aware of their assessment of every action she took.
Fortunately, she didn’t let the sudden change in her environment intimidate her. She managed to block out their presence and focus on her performance. Following the instructor’s commands and suggestions, she immersed herself fully in the role, feeling liberated from the constraints of her reality. In those moments, she felt a deep connection with the character, as if she had become one with them.
At the end of her performance, her acting instructor clapped enthusiastically, a broad smile of pride lighting up her face.
The same transformation occurred in her dancing and voice classes. She effortlessly shed her everyday self and embraced the persona needed for the stage. Her performance resonated deeply with everyone, and her newfound relaxation and soulful expression struck the right chords with her audience.
Hera’s passion and keen understanding of timing and technique earned her top marks in her assessments. Her instructors then informed her that she was ready to proceed independently. They offered their continued support for discussing new roles and any future guidance she might need.
This was the final step Betty needed before sending Hera off to pursue roles in drama and movies. After the assessment by her training instructors, Betty and Hera went straight to Betty’s office. There, they discussed the roles Hera was interested in and went over for the discussion for the upcoming commercial shoot. Hera would be working with Xavier for an ambassadorial campaign for ‘Love Potion’ perfume—a project Hera had successfully secured after taking it from Rafael.
After discussing Hera’s future career path in more detail, both Hera and Betty headed home. By the time Hera arrived at her penthouse, it was well past midnight. Fortunately, the next day was Saturday, so she could afford to sleep in a bit longer. Out of habit, she checked her phone while taking a long, hot bath to soothe her muscles and calm her mind, preparing herself for a restful night.
Just as she expected, the six all sent her good night messages, Leo was the longest of all the messages.
[Leo: I’m really starting to miss you.]
[Leo: Have you had a great day? I hope you did, I miss you and wanted to see you soon.]
[Leo: Good night, I hope you’ll have an uninterrupted sleep tonight and I also hope that we’ll meet each other in our dream. Sleep well and dream of me. (。・v・。)ノ]
[Leo: ( ˘ ³˘)♥( ´ ∀ `)ノ♡]
Hera couldn’t help but giggle at Leo’s messages. She found it hard to imagine this playful, coy side of him, especially after her initial impression of him as domineering and aloof. Seeing him act so affectionately like a pampered wife was a delightful surprise. This new side of Leo felt warm and adorably charming, and she couldn’t deny that she found it endearing.
Hera happily replied to Leo’s messages.
[Hera: You too, I hope you’ll have a good rest tonight.]
[Hera: Don’t stay up all night working, it was bad for your health, it might lead to baldness (≧∇≦)/]
[Hera: Good night and sweet dreams.]
Hera’s comment about baldness was clearly a joke, but Leo took it to heart. He started to worry that he might actually go bald if he continued staying up all night. The thought reminded him of the executives at his company—most of whom were workaholics and, notably, bald.
Previously, Leo didn’t pay much attention to trivial matters, but Hera’s mention of baldness struck a chord with him. Concerned that she might not like him if he really did go bald, he quickly stood up from his office chair and decided to wash up and get some sleep. Meanwhile, his assistant, who had dark circles under his eyes from working overtime, entered Leo’s office to deliver the revised plans and business proposals they had been working on for days.
When the assistant noticed that Leo’s chair was empty—an unusual sight given his recent tendency to work late—he grew puzzled and began searching the office for him. As his concern escalated, he started to panic, but he never considered checking the hidden room in Leo’s office. The idea of Leo actually being asleep at this hour hadn’t crossed his mind.
He frantically searched every nook and cranny of the entire floor, and even tried calling Leo’s phone. However, after ensuring that Hera was settled for the night, Leo had turned off his phone to avoid any interruptions that might disrupt his much-needed rest. In his haste to disconnect, he had forgotten to inform his assistant about his new, more regimented sleep schedule.
