Chapter 410: Chapter 410 Zhane’s Hobby
With this newfound realization, Hera felt a weight lift off her shoulders. Thinking this way allowed her to feel less stress and fear about the future.
She could now focus on what lay ahead and pursue genuine connections with them, no longer treating them as mere obstacles to win over or characters from a novel, but as real individuals with whom she could build something meaningful.
With these thoughts, she felt a lightness in her chest, a genuine smile spreading across her lips as she directed it toward Zhane. His eyes lit up, gleaming with warmth as he witnessed her first true smile—one that wasn’t out of politeness or restraint, but a heartfelt expression that showed she was beginning to open her heart to him.
He felt like him feeling very uncomfortable in his core was stirring relentlessly was giving him stinking pain and his muscles contracting but he felt like it was worth it because he managed to at least connect with Hera on a more personal level and bare his heart out to her for her to understand how he feels.
Zhane’s heart warmed as he gazed at Hera, gently pulling her to rest against his sturdy chest while stroking her hair. Instead of his lust overwhelming him, a deep sense of contentment settled in, filling him with warmth. They remained like that for a while, quiet and close, until the intense hunger for intimacy that had once consumed him gradually subsided.
When the urge to pin Hera beneath him finally faded, they both stood up. At first, Hera felt a bit awkward, but as they returned to where she had been standing earlier, they both remembered what Zhane had said. She had lucked out and hit the bullseye, earning her an instant 10 points.
Hera’s earlier excitement returned, and this time, Zhane stepped back, letting her take control. Recalling his instructions, she unlocked the Glock 19, aimed carefully, and steadied her breathing. She focused intently, trying to recapture the feeling she had when Zhane was guiding her.
But instead, a completely different memory surfaced, and she inwardly cursed herself for focusing on that moment. Shaking it off, she cleared her mind and focused on how Zhane had instructed her to hold the gun—steady, calm, and precise. She concentrated on keeping her hand from shaking and bracing her arm to control the recoil, making sure it wouldn’t jerk back and hit her face.
Bang!
This time, it wasn’t a bullseye, but she still hit the 8-point mark. Excited, Hera jumped up and down, her enthusiasm contagious. Zhane, generous with his praise, smiled warmly, genuinely impressed. “That’s a great result for a beginner,” he remarked, his approval making her glow with pride.
“Good job! Just remember the feeling and your stance, and you’ll get the hang of it,” Zhane said, patting her shoulder reassuringly. He let her fire a few more rounds, and just as he promised, once she got comfortable with the rhythm and sensation, she began hitting bullseyes and scoring 9- 10 points consistently.
The minimal recoil of the gun made it easier for her to maintain her aim once she found her rhythm. As a reward for being such a diligent student, Zhane offered to let her try out the guns she was interested in.
She got to handle the .22 Magnum, the striking .357 Magnum, the sleek Walther Magnum, the unassuming yet impressive Desert Eagle, and even had the chance to fire a round from a revolver, just to experience how it felt.
Consumed by the adrenaline rush, Hera reveled in the thrill of shooting. Despite her hand growing numb from the constant recoil, the exhilaration kept her hooked. Noticing her enthusiasm, Zhane decided to introduce her to assault rifles, adding another exciting dimension to her experience.
Hera started with the FAMAS, then moved on to the M16A4, MP5K, FN P90, and tried nearly every assault rifle in the arsenal. Eventually, she progressed to the sniper rifle. Zhane guided her to the side and helped her get into a prone position on the ground.
Before she began, he retrieved a sheet from a nearby cabinet, laid it out for her, and then assumed a prone position beside her. While she settled in, he provided a thorough tutorial on how to use the sniper rifle.
Unlike pistols, rifles have different recoil and power, so Zhane wanted to ensure Hera didn’t get injured due to improper posture. He became quite stern as he carefully guided her through the correct techniques.
Despite his seriousness, Hera was so absorbed in the experience and enjoying herself immensely that she barely noticed his strict demeanor, her face lighting up with a constant smile.
Particularly when Zhane handed her the sleek and cool L115A3 sniper rifle, she was pleased to find it light and manageable. Her first shot was surprisingly gentle on her shoulder, contrary to her expectations. Encouraged by this, Zhane let her fire a few more rounds before she moved on to the powerful AW50 sniper rifle.
Unbeknownst to Hera, Zhane was the happiest of them all. Sharing his passion and hobby with the woman he like brought him immense joy. Watching her so engaged and enthusiastic, eagerly absorbing his explanations on each weapon, and seeing her face light up with admiration as she looked at him as the ‘expert’ stirred a deep sense of satisfaction in him.
Seeing her lying prone on the ground beside him, fully immersed in the experience, was incredibly appealing to him.
Zhane’s mind was spinning in circles, his attraction to Hera intensifying with every moment. Watching her so fully engaged, not only participating but genuinely enjoying what he loved, deepened his connection with her.
Unlike other women who might have complained about the discomfort of lying on the ground, Hera embraced it, and her willingness to share in his interests made him feel even closer to her.
Once Hera had familiarized herself with the guns, Zhane suggested a friendly competition to see who could score the highest. The loser would treat the other to lunch, a meal they had forgotten about as they got caught up in the excitement. With the day already past lunchtime, it was the perfect opportunity for a bit of playful rivalry.
Zhane took it easy on Hera, aware that she was still a beginner. Nevertheless, she impressed him with her performance, scoring one 8, three 9s, and six 10s out of ten shots on the target. To ensure fairness, Zhane had called in the instructors beforehand to act as judges for their friendly competition.
Zhane scored five 9s and five 10s. With his steady hand and sharp eyesight, honed by his medical background, he could have easily achieved a perfect score. His precision and skill, essential qualities for a doctor, also made him an excellent sniper.
Seeing Zhane’s score, Hera excitedly chatted away as she peered through the binoculars at the target, her smile wide and beaming. She wasn’t disheartened by his easy victory or the fact that he had held back; she was simply thrilled by the experience.
“Did you enjoy your time at the shooting range?” Zhane asked, approaching her with a grin.
Hera nodded vigorously, her eyes shining with excitement. “You have no idea how much I enjoyed this! I’ve only ever used guns in Call of Duty before, since my grandpa doesn’t approve. But now…” She let out a sly laugh, her delight evident.
Even though her grandfather disapproved, she was thrilled to have been able to experience it, especially since she was a guest of Zhane and felt it was only polite to accept the invitation.
