Chapter 419: Chapter 419 Dave And Hera’s Date
Dave eagerly pulled out Hera’s chair, helping her sit before taking a seat beside her. His enthusiasm was almost palpable, as if he wanted to help her with everything—even feed her.
Hera couldn’t help but chuckle, rolling her eyes at his excitement, finding his eagerness both amusing and endearing.
After finishing their meal, they wasted no time heading out. It was only then that Hera noticed Dave behaving oddly, glancing around cautiously as if he were being watched.
His demeanor remained tense until they reached his car and pulled out of the Green Dragon Manor. Only then did he exhale deeply, visibly relieved.
Who wouldn’t be as cautious as Dave, knowing that Luke also lived in the same building as Hera? The last thing he wanted was for his date to be interrupted by him. Avoiding a run-in with Luke was his top priority, so he made sure to stay under the radar.
Now that he had successfully whisked Hera away without anyone noticing, Dave felt a surge of relief and newfound confidence. This was his chance to make their date truly memorable, to change the way Hera saw him, and—hopefully—improve his standing in her heart as well.
But little did Dave know, Luke had been watching the whole time, observing him sneak away with Hera in tow from the window.
“Do you think they’re headed for a date?” Rafael asked, sipping his coffee as he stood beside Luke, watching Dave scurry off like a nervous cat afraid his fish would be stolen if he didn’t hurry.
“You don’t even need to ask. He definitely has a date with her,” Xavier muttered, his voice tinged with irritation. Having just gotten off the plane, still jetlagged and exhausted, he was clearly displeased. After all, he’d been away for a few days and hadn’t had the chance to spend any time with Hera.
“And you all called me here just to watch my wife get whisked away by your friend?” Leo snapped, his irritation evident. He sat near the window, his gaze fixed on the scene below.
Having been summoned by Luke at the crack of dawn, he couldn’t shake the frustration that brewed within him as they all witnessed Dave pull up to the building’s entrance, a bouquet of red roses in hand, before heading upstairs.
Leo’s annoyance simmered just below the surface. He hadn’t had a decent night’s sleep, preoccupied with thoughts of Zhane’s date with Hera. The lack of sleep was compounded by the nagging frustration that Zhane hadn’t shared a word about how it went.
Everyone knew he had spent the evening with Hera, lingering until the last possible moment before sending her home, and that only added to Leo’s irritation.
“What are you all worked up about?” Luke asked casually, leaning against the window until Dave’s car disappeared from view. He then turned and took a seat across from Leo. “If you keep losing your temper over every little thing, you’re just going to wear yourselves out.”
“Instead of fretting over Dave, let’s focus on our plan,” Luke continued, his tone shifting to seriousness. “The Lennons have already taken the bait, and by tonight or tomorrow, we can cripple them. I called you all here so we can strategize together and seize their family business once they fall from grace.”
Leo frowned, his brows furrowing in confusion. “Why all this fanfare just to take down the Lennons? They’re a mediocre-sized family business. We don’t need such an elaborate approach to bring them down. If we were dealing with a major conglomerate like the Hendrix or Avery, then sure, intricate planning would make sense to secure the spoils. But the Lennons? They hardly require this level of effort.”
Even Rafael frowned, though he understood Luke’s cautious nature. He knew that Luke preferred not to confront a losing battle head-on; instead, he would rather lurk in the shadows, observing how things unfolded before making a calculated strike against their enemies. So, he waited patiently for Luke to elaborate and explain his reasoning.
Xavier slumped on the long sofa near the window, leaning back with his eyes closed. He had no desire to join the conversation, as he couldn’t fathom using his family’s influence and power in such a way.
The murky waters of the business world repulsed him, and he preferred to distance himself from the intricacies of their schemes.
“Well, indeed, to the Hendrixes, the Lennons are little more than ants to be trampled,” Luke said, casting a meaningful smile at Leo. “But remember, even an ant can take down an elephant when they swarm.”
“Are you suggesting that the Lennons are collaborating with other families?” Leo asked, his expression turning serious. He wasn’t surprised; his own intel had hinted at the same, though not with the depth that the Averys possessed.
Since Gerald and Hera were actively working against the Lennons, Gerald wouldn’t dare sell this information, no matter the price—he was too wary of rattling a snake.
However, Leo and the others weren’t as informed as Hera and Gerald about the Lennons. Leo believed they could handle the situation, no matter how many families allied with them. In contrast, Luke felt confident he could simply set one house ablaze and wait for the others to emerge, ready to corner and eliminate them all in a single sweep.
Hera also contemplated the plans they had discussed, but she knew the Lennons’ schemes ran deep. Among their supporters were individuals who had unresolved issues with the male leads, which made her hesitant to fully put the Lennons’ fate in their hands.
She wanted their assistance in crippling the Lennons, but she intended to take charge of the final blow herself.
After all, her other preparations were complete, and Gerald was meticulously guarding the information they had, along with the plans to deal with the Lennons. Hera was simply waiting for the right moment to act.
She also knew that Athena’s family and her uncle’s family were poised and ready, just waiting for the opportune moment to strike.
After all, it was their beloved princess who Tyler Lennon tried to schemed against.
On Hera’s side, Dave took her to a charming themed park that was perfect for Instagram-worthy photos, featuring a whimsical princess theme, Mini Mouse decorations, and more.
It resembled a miniature Disneyland, and he had reserved the entire place just for her, ensuring she could enjoy every corner without interruption.

Hera chuckled, recalling the domineering CEO archetypes Athena often mentioned. ‘Isn’t he just acting like one of those characters?’ she thought, amused by the resemblance.
Dave eagerly transformed into Hera’s personal photographer, urging her to pose beside the whimsical mascots and don cute angel wings. He went so far as to lie flat on the ground, determined to capture the perfect shot of her adorned in the angel wings, with petals cascading around her and the clear blue sky as a stunning backdrop.
As Hera watched Dave contort himself into awkward positions to capture her on camera, she couldn’t help but burst into a merry laugh.
Sitting on a white swing draped in beautiful flowers, reminiscent of a fairy’s flower field, she enjoyed the playful moment.
Dave eagerly snapped pictures, even urging her to stop posing and look away, hoping to catch a candid shot that would capture her genuine joy.
