Chapter 470: Chapter 470 Putting Hera In Another Trouble
Milly’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she pictured Hera scrambling to find last-minute sponsors with the first national race just a day away.
Everyone at the table shared in her enthusiasm, wearing wicked smiles and snickering at the thought of Hera, along with their foolish manager and coach, frantically trying to fill the void left by their entire team.
The anticipation of watching them struggle was almost too much to bear.
“We should reach out to the sponsors immediately,” one of Michael’s teammates suggested, their eyes gleaming with excitement.
“If we wait too long, they might miss the chance to withdraw the cars and other sponsored items!”
Michael smirked as he flicked his water glass. “No need for that,” he said confidently.
“I informed all the sponsors last night. I think Hera’s announcement, along with our management’s decision, was just the confirmation they needed. I’m sure they’re already on their way to demand penalty compensation and reclaim everything.”
Milly chuckled at her brother’s words, her joy radiating through the group.
“My brother really is the smartest! Hera and the rest probably didn’t see this coming,” she said, a malicious gleam flashing in her eyes.
Lowering her head to continue eating, she masked her expression, savoring the delicious prospect of her rivals’ downfall.
Sure enough, when the National Race Team officially announced that Hera would be the sole racer representing them, the sponsors erupted in fury.
They immediately began contacting the manager and coach to terminate their contracts.
The sponsors argued that the National Team had breached the agreements, as each contract specified sponsorship for individual racers rather than the team as a whole.
The sponsors prioritized the value of individual racers over the team itself, selecting specific athletes to represent their brands.
Michael, in particular, was a favorite among sponsors, who had chosen him to showcase their products and prominently display their stickers on his car.
Now that he had left the team and been replaced by a newcomer, the sponsors felt cheated.
They suspected that the manager’s decision was a ploy to minimize payouts to Hera while maximizing profits for themselves.
Ironically, it was actually Hera who stood to gain more from her deal with the National Race Team.
All the sponsors inundated the National Race Team’s manager with urgent calls, delivering an ultimatum: either reinstate Michael and his team or face the cancellation of all sponsorships, including the contract with BMW and the PGA Tour.
The deadline they imposed was a mere two hours, clearly indicating their determination to put pressure on the manager.
As the barrage of calls concluded, the manager quickly dialed Betty, who had just settled into her chair after managing the chaos surrounding Hera’s online backlash.
“Hello, manager?! Are you calling to check on Hera? She’s doing great, so you don’t need to worry,” Betty immediately said, jumping to conclusions about the reason for the call.
After all, with the online attacks targeting Hera and the whirlwind of events, it was only natural to assume the manager of the National Race Team was concerned.
Betty had been dealing with damage control, and considering the speed at which the situation escalated, it made sense to her that the manager would be calling for reassurance.
“N-no, Manager Betty, we have a situation here,” the National Race Team (NRT) manager stammered, his voice trembling and on the verge of breaking down.
Hearing the distress in his tone, Betty immediately sat up straight, a sense of unease washing over her as she braced herself for what he was about to reveal.
“The sponsors called, and they’re threatening to cancel their support for the team unless I reinstate Michael and his team back into the NRT,” the manager said, panic rising in his voice.
“If we don’t act quickly, we’ll lose everything within the next two hours. We won’t have enough time to find a new sponsor or secure a car for Hera to use in her first national race, which is tomorrow.”
“I’m so sorry,” the manager choked out, his voice trembling with regret. “I was just so excited to see Phantom racing with my own eyes that I overlooked a crucial clause in our sponsorship contract.”
“I know an apology isn’t enough, but I honestly don’t know what to do right now. I don’t want to lose Phantom, but the sponsors aren’t giving me any choice.” Unable to hold back his tears any longer, he sobbed into the phone, clutching it tightly to his ear.

“It’s not like I kicked them out,” the NRT manager grumbled, his resentment palpable.
“They left haughtily, making it look like I was the one who forced them out. All I wanted was to add Phantom to our roster.”
“What? Tomorrow?!” Betty exclaimed, her voice rising in disbelief.
“We really don’t have any time left! I’ve already signed contracts for other collaborations and sponsorships, all because they believed Hera would be racing under our country’s banner on the international stage.”
“If I break the news that it might not happen, I won’t just offend those companies; I could also risk getting Hera blacklisted. It would look like I hyped a lie to boost popularity and secure contract fees.”
The thought sent a chill down Betty’s spine, and she could already envision how disastrous the situation would become. Her heart throbbed violently in her chest as anxiety gripped her.
“I know, right? I’m also responsible for paying the penalties for breaching the contract, even though it should be my former team members footing the bill for those damages since they were the ones who quit.”
The NRT manager was now in tears on the other end, while the coach frantically racked his brain for a solution. But fear gripped them both, leaving their minds in a chaotic haze.
Even Betty felt a surge of panic at this moment, though it was nothing compared to the distress of the two on the other end of the line.
Still, she managed to think clearly. “What if we bring Hera into this?” she suggested.
“It’s better to have three minds working on this than just the two of us.” She didn’t propose this to shift the responsibility; she genuinely believed that Hera’s unique background could provide insights and solutions that they hadn’t considered.
The NRT manager and coach both agreed, prompting Betty to dial Hera’s number to include her in the conference call.
Coincidentally, Hera and Xavier had just finished their conference interview and were returning to the boutique’s private room to relax.
Meanwhile, the management of Love Potion Perfume was busy managing the crowd and media outside.
As soon as Hera settled onto the couch, Xavier casually pulled her leg onto his lap and began massaging it.
His touch was so natural that Hera didn’t think twice about it. She leaned against the coach, her body sinking into the soft cushions.
Just then, her phone rang inside her bag.
Since Xavier was close by, he effortlessly retrieved her bag and handed it to her without saying a word, returning to his massage as if nothing had interrupted them.
Hera felt the soothing pressure of Xavier’s gentle massage as his fingers glided over her sore legs, perfectly balancing strength and tenderness.
He even helped her slip off her shoes, allowing him to massage her ankles and the soles of her feet.
“Hello, Betty? Is there a problem?” Hera asked, her voice calm and soothing.
She immediately sensed something was amiss, much like Betty, and suspected it had to do with the recent events at her first ambassadorial contract product’s launch.
